North Shore Vans - Maui, HI

Just finished a 5-day trip on Maui with Ruby, and had the best time! Emily and Jason were excellent communicators and provided great recommendations. Our van was perfect and never gave us any issues throughout our trip. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing week using North Shore Vans visiting in August 2023. Despite the recent fires in Lahaina the rest of the island was open and eager for visitors.

North shore vans equipped us with everything we needed from start to finish. Providing recommendations on camping, activities, places to eat and more! We had such a special trip and would highly recommend this way of exploring and connecting to the spirit of the island.

We spent 3 nights in Rosie and had the best time exploring Hana area! We stayed at Hosmer one night and Kipahulu, both which would have been tough in a tent just with weather conditions being a bit erratic. Emily helped us get on our way and was super helpful and accommodating during the trip and in the lead up. If you have any questions she was a wealth of knowledge about how to best do your trip! Will recommend to friends and would stay with North Shore Vans again for sure if we come back!

We just got back from nine magical days on Maui. We rented Rosie and cannot say enough good things about our experience with the van and this lovely company!

It was such a unique experience to get to explore the island from the comfort of our van. There is no way one could have this type of experience staying in a condo or resort. It was so great to always have our stuff with us and not have to rush back to our home base. Some of the many things we enjoyed about Rosie.the bed was really comfortable, it was so nice having a sink, plenty of storage, a great pull-out table in the back that made cooking easy, the privacy curtains doubled as a clothes line for wet clothes, and how easily we blended in and didn't look like tourists. We ran into a number of people who had rented camper vans or jeeps from other companies and were impressed with our setup.

Communication was great. Emily provided so many great tips and was easy to access throughout our trip. We even had an issue with the AC at the start of our trip, and Naro came out to where our van was while we were on a snorkeling trip and fixed it on a Saturday. It is clear they take a ton of pride in what they do and it really added to our overall experience.

If you are like me and are searching for camping ideas, I want to share where we stayed.

We spend 3 nights at Camp Olowalu and really enjoyed it. We were in car campsite #1 and I really recommend that spot. It is a beautiful property and we loved taking warm showers under the stars and having easy access to flushing toilets. Leoda's is really close by and it was so easy to order online and drive down and pick up delicious food for lunch or early dinner.

We spend 1 night on Haleakala and really recommend doing so. It was such a cool experience to watch the sun rise and set from above the clouds.

We spent 2 nights at Caroline's in Hana. Caroline and Tony's property is so beautiful. We saw so many whales from our van. Highly recommend staying here. We were really glad we didn't try and do the road to Hana in one day, and really fell in love with the area.

Our last night was at Waiʻānapanapa State Park. We were in site 6, which I liked as we were on the end and had a bit more privacy. Site 1 and 2 also looked nice. There are only 6 sites and it is basically a large parking lot. What was unique about this spot is that you pretty much have the place to yourself after 6, as that is when all day use people have to leave. They do close the path down to the black sand beach at 6, but it opens at 7 in the morning and the views are great from above. It was a nice way to end our trip. I did feel like 1 night was the right amount here.

We also highly recommend Pac Whale Adventures. We did their Wild Side snorkeling trip and their adult sunset cruise.

If you have made it this far, you are definitely interested in a trip to Maui and you should just do yourself a favor and book with North Shore!

Renting with North Shore Vans was an amazing experience! Such an amazing way to travel Maui. The team at North Shore Vans is also great - responsive, professional (but laid-back and so personable), and knowledgeable. We had a small issue with the battery dying and so we couldn't use the lights, or charge our things. The team were quick to respond and offer many solutions to fix it asap. They are great!

We rented Betty, and she drove very well! The campervan set-up was nice, with everything we needed.

We did the road to Hana and stayed at Wai'anapanapa State Park for two nights - right at Black Sand Beach. We then stayed four nights at Camp Olowalu. Camping with the vans gave us the flexibility to drive all over the island, choose our own home-bases, and keep costs down.

I would 100% recommend North Shore Vans for any adventurer looking to really explore Maui!

Our trip to Maui was amazing, and that cannot be done without our lovely cmapervan named Betty!

Before we booked the van we had several questions and Emily was very responsive to make sure we have a smooth pickup and drop-off experience. When we arrived at the meet up spot, Naru came shortly to explain everything in detail about Betty.

Betty is their newly addition, it's also an upgrade design from other campervans. The inside is very stylish. It has automatic water pump, dimmable lights. It also carries many items that we need for camping and beach days including towels, stove, dishes and utensils, beach chair, umbrella, cooler. You can tell they are being very thoughtful! We had some questions during our trips and Naru has always been helpful.

We had so many memorable moments with Betty during the week in Maui, and highly recommend renting campervans (especially Betty!) with North Shore Vans:)

North Shore Vans is a dream! They made our first trip to Maui (and our first time staying in a campervan!) a total breeze, so that we were able to have the trip of a lifetime. We arrived late, so they left our van in the airport parking lot for us. They likewise let us leave it there when we flew out late. Inside, our van (Goldie) had all the supplies we needed for cooking and cleaning. The bed was very comfortable, the stowing was convenient, and the lights and fan at night were a huge bonus. They also left a super helpful guidebook full of recommendations and a detailed map with routes and stops all over the island. Finally, they were so easy to communicate with before, during, and after our stay, whether by call, text, or email. We truly had everything we needed. If we repeat the trip, I'm sure we'll use them again, and I will continue to recommend them to everyone I know!
