Oki's Box Lunches & Omiyage reviews
18 I rarely give 5 stars these days, but these guys earned it. We were going to get another set to go, but sadly we were on our way to other places and didn't want it left in the car.
Ngl the pictures and presentation of the food had me anticipating disappointment, but eating with eys generally leads to disappointment anyway.
The gravy on the #11 sweet and sour pork was THE most flavorful gravy I've ever tasted.
The pork in the leaf was boisterous with flavor.
And I wasn't adventurous enough to order Pancit, but my sis did and it's a little lighter than Ramen, but more balanced in flavor.
Hawaiian food located in a mall.could it be good? I was skeptical, but now a believer! I had the Chicken Katsu plate and it was yummy. The portion was more than enough, and for $13.99, it was a good deal. It was crispy, hot, and flavorful. It comes with a scoop of rice & Mac salad but the pasta was spaghetti instead of elbow pasta.different that what I'd expect, but tastes pretty much the same. Doesn't come with gravy, but ketchup instead. I think the "cutlets" come with gravy instead of ketchup. I'd probably get the cutlet next time to get gravy instead of ketchup. The owner, Barbara, is really friendly and sparked up a conversation with us.
When visiting this area again, I'd definitely go back to try the kalua pork.
I had the chicken katsu smaller size, was pretty good and came with like mayo noodles side, also good.
I wished that the katsu came with a different sauce and not just ketchup. It kind of wasn't my fave for this meal.
Lady was very nice and gave recommendations.
Warm welcome, prompt serve. Large portions. I got the Fried rice breakfast, eggs over easy.it came with two meat choices. I picked bacon for both. Also ordered her famous pancakes. I've come to Oki Diner over the years for these pancakes since high-school. Twenty plus years later they're still the best! Be sure to buy some coconut syrup or Japanese pretzels to take home Mahalo for a great breakfast
When you walk in you will hear the claim of best local food. She is correct we even asked a few.others eating their. LOCO mock spot on traditional flavors.
Wow. Such a great meal. Pleasant service and great cheap food.
#1 Neal’s chicken and a plate of their fried noodles.
Food is overpriced. Waited for more than 30mins for the food and the taste is not as expected.
Great pancakes.had the coconut syrup with it. OUTSTANDING.and Oki, the owner was interesting to chat with
At first when I saw this place was at some kind of food court, I was a bit skeptical. Food court meals are usually an oxymoron for delicious food. Lo and behold, I was shocked. The food was delicious. This was my only local Hawaiian food on the cruise ship trip around the Hawaiian Islands, and I left satisfied. Next time I visit Kauai; I'm coming back here again. The place seemed to be a local favorite and I saw lines of patrons lining up; even as the place was getting close to closing time.
It is a nice place with delicious food. We were in Kauai on vacation, and probably won't be back for a while, if ever. The food here was good for a reasonable price, and the staff are friendly. Recommend.
Awesome plate lunches at extremely reasonable prices on the island. I had the Hawaiian plate (Lau Lau and Kalua pork) and the meat was very tender and juicy. I’m always in search for great plate lunches and this place delivers (mac salad was also delicious). Stop by when you’re in Lihue area (maybe before you head to or from the airport).
On my last day in Kauai, I decided to make this my final food spot. I wasn’t disappointed at all! Everything was so delicious that was recommended. The owner took the time to point out in detail what was considered Hawaiian dishes and what we should try. I’m glad I listened. Especially when she said the Hawaiian plate. It literally melted in your mouth. Out of all the places I ate on my trip, this was the most reasonably costed for taste, food, and portions.
If I find my way back, she’ll definitely get my business again
Delicious, straight forward stop for plate lunches and breakfast. The only place we stopped at multiple times during our trip because it was such a crowd pleaser for adults and kids.
Best food on the island! I got the Oki pancake special and my husband got the loco moco and both were the best we ever had. The quality is incredible. The staff is very kind and welcoming. Glad we found this place with a few more days of vacation left to try more of their food.
We had the moco loco and Mac nut pancakes and eggs. Very tasty and lovely customer service.
Wonderful local "grinds" (food). The owner and her assistant, , were Wonderful, helpful in explaining the local food choices. She is very charming. The food is delicious. I was craving Portuguese sausage, and the breakfast special I had came with 2 meat choices, which is a lot, and incredible and an absolute bargain. Come her, you won't be disappointed. As her slogan say, "I make the best Hawaiian local food. Delicious to the last bite, ". This is no lie. Come eat here, learn a little about some local food and sights. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
Stumbled upon Oki’s and had the Fried Rice Breakfast special. Fantastic!
Highly recommend for Comfort Food
Ordered the Hawaiian plate and Neals chicken both dishes were amazing. The owner of the store was very nice and I could tell she cares alot about her food. Totally recommend if you wanna give it a try.
