I needed help with my eight year old dog. I got it through Crystal Brandstrom. She was and is the best to train Makana. She even borrowed a scooter to train him. Got food because one of the canned food upset his stomach. There was pictures and video every day. There so much to say about Crystal and her training methods I cannot say enough. Thank you so much for the endless caring. Even Makana thanks you!

I can't say enough great things about Nicole from OLK9. Nicole went above and beyond to address the training needs for my dog, and provided guidance, information, and new techniques to help achieve our training goals. My main focuses for training with my dog Willow were to address dog interactions and distractions, and Nicole was amazing about meeting us outside of the training center to focus on these needs. She was so knowledgeable on how to address my concerns, and helped create real-life scenarios with other dogs and people to practice our training and build Willow's confidence. I can't recommend Nicole enough!

This company is FANTASTIC! The owner Sherry is professional and a great communicator who made me feel confident in this choice. I highly recommend you request Loren as your dog trainer. I was having a hard time training my puppy to the point that it was becoming challenging to carry out daily routines. Loren was able to transform Holly into the best version of herself! She’s still a silly and happy puppy, but now listens when she needs to calm down. The most important thing for me was her safety, and all of Loren’s excellent training has fully delivered on that goal! She even completed an entire hiking trail OFF LEASH!

I had an outstanding time working with Nicole as my dog trainer! She walk me and my wife threw every training session so we fully understand what was going on. Not one time did she ever get frustrated with our pit bull. We all know pit bulls can be very stubborn when they want to be. But she keep her cool and not once did she lose it. 10 out of 10 the best dog trainer I had the pleasure of working with! I recommend that you ask for Nicole to be your personal dog trainer so you can witness greatness at work!

Our biggest concern with our pup is that when she gets really excited on walks, she pulls and forgets how strong she is and would bark at other dogs. We thought she would out grow it eventually, but it never happened until we utilized OLK9 Hawaii services. Our pup's trainer was Loren and he was great! For the boarding training and we received daily video updates and photos. It made me feel more comfortable knowing that she's doing okay. Loren treated our pup like she was his own. Not only did Gala learn, but we learned a lot on how to retain her skills she learned from training. She is now great during walks and with door manners, which are two big concerns we had. Highly recommend!

What can we say about Crystal besides she’s just amazing? Piper is a completely different dog after working with Crystal. She went in as a scared pup and is now my go everywhere companion and a great off leash ranch dog. When Crystal teaches she explains in a way that is easy to understand and follow along with. We all learn, not just Piper. Highly recommend her if you need help with your dog.

Darby’s training exceeded my expectations. We are so happy that we gained knowledge and tools to help further his behavior training at home.t
The best part…. He is the same, loving, expressive, energetic dog when we dropped him off but now he is all of that and well-mannered!

Our experience with crystal was amazing, kept us updated thru out the entire time during training & answered all our questions and concerns. During pick up she made sure I was confident with all the commands before sending us home. Tubbz is more than I ever asked for now than he was before. The feeling of knowing he can have a happy/safe doggy life feels so amazing! TyCrystalWe<3Ya

I want to thank Nicole for such a great experience. My dog Sonic a almos 1 and a half year old lab was super hyper and not obedient at all. After the 2 week board he is way more calm now and very obedient with the commands. She was very nice with updates every day about his progress. I will absolutely recommend off leash K9 training.

Off-Leash K9 is a tried and true company that produces incredible results. Both of our dogs were trained by OLK9, and I can’t express how grateful we are for the work they do to solidify commands and responsiveness so that our dogs are safe in any environment. We live on the water and love going to the beach and on hikes. Being able to have a pup with perfect recall that can be off leash reduces stress and gives the confidence that our kiddos will be safe.
Nicole kept us constantly updated of our pups status and accomplishments. We new exactly how he was progressing, and the results were astonishing! Our little boy went from monster to amazing. We couldn’t be more thankful for Nicole’s highly professional and skilled approach. It has allowed us to really enjoy our time out with our little family.
Thank you Nicole!

Can I give Loren and Sherry 10/10 Stars?

The experience from START to FINISH was outstanding.

I signed up my 1 year old goldendoodle for a 3 week training course.

Sherry was prompt with her responses and I never once felt that she was trying to sell me a package. She is professional, knowledgable, and informative.

My pup and I reside on the Big Island and I have apprehension flying to O'ahu to drop off my pup to a bunch of strangers.

They came highly recommended by a friend whose Goldendoodle was trained by them. Additionally, Sherry spent 1 hour talking to me - addressing my concerns and providing clarity on things.

Then, Loren (The Trainer) was introduced. He is professional, helpful, and communicative!

I felt safe leaving Finn with Loren for 3 weeks while I was traveling in the US for work. Why? I received daily updates from Loren regarding Finn's progress and from the updates, it is obvious that Finn is growing up and improving daily.

I looked forward to those updates daily.

All I can say is this. Yes, it is NOT cheap. But, it is absolutely worth it!
Quality training. Quality professionalism and service!

I'll be back when we get a 2nd pup!

We are very pleased with the progress we’ve seen with our GSP. Our dog, Moku, knew the basics as far as sit, place, stay, recall, down, etc. However, our biggest struggles were his crying and leash pulling. Our trainer, Nicole, said Moku is probably the most vocal dog she’s worked with. He was very loud crying and constant whining with EVERY command. His voice is SO loud, and his heel was a struggle, we were embarrassed to take him in community settings.
After 2 week board and train, his crying has significantly decreased and is much more controlled and tolerable. His basic commands are more reliable and consistent, as he will stay seated or down or placed until given the break command. His heel has also significantly improved and is much more pleasant to go for a walk with and without a leash.
I cannot thank Nicole enough for listening to our concerns and addressing them, and showing us how to guide and respond to Moku’s behaviors. I loved the daily updates I received and the pictures/video clips from training. 100% would recommend Nicole and OLK9 Hawaii.

I am extremely happy with how Kynzley developed from her 2-weeks community boarding training with Crystal. She has matured from a 10 month old puppy to an obedient best friend. She went from having a mind of her own and scolding her with no effect to now a well behaved, well balanced and happier dog. She needs the challenge and can't wait for the next adventure and I can't wait to make more memories with her!
The biggest difficulty we had was not having Kynzley around for 2-weeks. My wife and I was sad and lonely not having her around. But, Crystal would send us videos of her progress. Each day that went by Kynzley got better and better. We watched her in a long sit, long down, distance recall, heel, door manners, load, place, greetings, table manners and even brushing her. She would always try to bite the brush when brushing her. It's nice that she let us brush her now. My wife walks with a walking stick and we asked Crystal if she would be able to have Kynzley heel along side a walking stick. Kynzley is now walking along side my wife with the walking stick. WOW!
One of my favorite videos that Crystal sent was "table manners". She was eating chicken and threw the bones on the ground one after another next to Kynzley and she didn't even flinch. WOW!
Crystal would take Kynzley to many different environments from shopping centers, beaches, hikes, farmers market with all sorts of distractions from other dogs, people walking, babies petting her. Simply AMAZING!
Since getting Kynzley back home, I've taken her to Ala Moana shopping center and during my off leash walk, I took her going up and down the escalators. I encouraged Kynzley to "heel" and she did. She hopped on the escalator. Her confidence and trust is awesome.
Another change was Kynzley loves praises. I never bring treats to reward her good behavior anymore. I just give her the biggest praises and she loves it.

Mahalo, Aunty Crystal!

OLK9 far exceeded our expectations. Our pup was a very anxious guy. He was a challenge to walk. After two weeks in a board and train with Crystal, we brought home a confident dog that is a joy to take on walks. We’ve been walking between 1-2 miles nightly. He doesn’t bark, pull, or flinch at all the sites and sounds. I’ve become more active now that I’m not fearful of taking him out and about. It’s a win win for both of us. If you’re on the fence…just do it! Worth every last penny! Oh and one more thing…we got pictures and a video every night showing what he had accomplished that day. It became a whole family event to watch the latest update. I’d never seen him “smile” before he went off to train with Crystal! He is a happier dog now!

I am so thankful & grateful to have found Off Leash K9 Training Hawaii. When I first inquired they responded quickly & explained each program they offered.

We decided to do the 2 Week boarding training program. Our baby Bruno was trained under Nicole Miranda who was heaven sent! I was honestly not the best communicator as we were so busy planning our wedding. She was so patient with us & accommodated us to do the soonest board training.

Bruno is definitely my baby & I missed him a lot while he was away but Nicole updated me everyday with photos & videos. I love that she was honest about his progress and didn’t sugar coat anything, which made me feel more reassured that he was progressing in his training. I for sure spoiled him way too much and was afraid all my bad habits would lead him to not learning.

Nicole really educated me on what I should do once he comes home and even took the time out to give us one on one lessons on the commands when we picked up Bruno. It was uncomfortable for me at first bc Bruno respects his dad a lot more than me since I allowed him to do whatever he wanted.

In those two weeks, Bruno learned so much and came home a new & improved doggie with skills and manners I never knew he could obtain! I HIGHLY recommend this training company!

Nicole not only showed love and patience with Bruno but she definitely showed us grace as well bc I’m not gonna lie Bruno was definitely a tough student

Thank you again Off Leash K9 Training Hawaii & thank you sooo so much to Nicole for all the help!:)

We adopted a 3 year old English Bulldog (we named him Odin) from the Hawaii SPCA to join our family which already had a 7 year old female English Bulldog. He had been through alot already.missing an eye, other eye has an eye issue, massive allergies, no testicles, cauliflower ear.etc.you could tell he wanted to be a good dog.quickly picking up some commands.but as with all Bulldogs, he was hard headed and stubborn, and untrusting of other dogs.and at 3.set in his ways. We/he needed help.
We contracted for a 2 week course to give Odin structure and training. Then we/he met Nicole from OTLK9. She is a Saint! Let's start with all the eye gels she had put in his one good eye (only 20% vision) mulriple times a day, the special shampoo, food, and meds for allergies, and the shots for his arthritis and hip dysplasia.
And she was amazingly flexible when we had to pull him away from training for surgery and recovery to deal with a pre existing health issue that began to affect him. She took him back months later to finish his training without missing a beat.
By then, Nicole could only train him in the early morn and late afternoon due to the heat that affects all Bulldogs. We still got plenty of daily updates and video of their work together. She obviously worked very hard with him out in public to lower his anxiety levels around other dogs, and teach him various commands. Even more important was Nicole's daily communication with us and teaching us his triggers, explaining how she deals with them, and getting us ready for his return. On drop off day she took some time to help us reintroduce Odin to our other bulldog in a safe and anxiety free way.
Odin is home now.much more comfortable around our other bulldog, listening to commands, and acting like a family dog.
It's hard to write everything we think she did great.there is so much.most of all it was important to know he was safe and in capable hands when it came to his health issues, then that she had the experience and knowledge to train him and work on his anxiety, and finally to train us so that we can understand Odins anxiety and we all know what to expect when commands are given and executed.
Thanks Nicole!
