Papakea Resort, Lahaina HI

Lovely resort. Nicely maintained. Pools and hot tub were clean and not very crowded. Can see the sunset right from the property and spot some whales. Also attended lei making classes which was fun and played some tennis and put out golf. The rooms are a little outdated but we didn't spent too much time indoors anyway!

Excellent property to spend a vacation, everyday activities if interested. Close by shopping and great restaurants although advise going to other side of Island for groceries

The experience was great, the room was really clean and supplied. The mattress could of used some attention. It was very uncomfortable.

Very nice place, but it is a shame that everyone have their aircondition on the balcony side. It would be very lovely to sit on the balkony if there very no or much less noice from airconditioners.

It is a good place to stay in Maui, it has good pool to rest and relax, the chairs near the ocean front and the sunsets at this place was wonderful. We did get into the beach near by and also saw some fishes while snorkeling. It was a very pleasant place to stay and would highly recommend for people who like to stay near nature. The rooms has Air conditioning only in the living room and bedrooms had 2 fans, one on the ceiling and the other table fan.

Resort is beautiful. However, one thing was missed ie in-house dining and drinks options over looking the ocean.

Need pest control services. We found living cockroaches all over kitchen cabinets and walls, drawer. It is sad owner didn't care. Only 1 window air conditioner located living room. If your room in the back or bonus top will be hot. Window unit very loud

We booked unit A307 at Papakea for 2 weeks for our wedding/honeymoon in Maui. This specific unit was everything we could have asked for. The oceanfront view is what drew us in, and we are so happy we stayed here.

The grounds were well kept. There were tennis courts, putting greens and shuffleboard to play. The pool/jacuzzi seemed clean and nice but we didn’t use them once since the ocean water is so nice.

We were able to walk to businesses in the area when needed. There is a nice grocery store, an ABC convenient store/gas station, a really good food truck court, other food options, and a public park all within 10 minutes of walking.

There was some construction happening at a close by unit, but it was limited to regular working hours and wasn’t a big issue. Remember, some of these condos are owned by private parties so there is nothing the resort could have done anyways. If someone is doing work in their unit they have every right to do so!

Our specific unit was nicely upgraded, but the toilet flushed super slow and you had to hold the handle down the entire time. Nevertheless the view was top notch, the water directly in front of the resort was perfect (coming from San Diegans), and the snorkeling was very good. We saw turtles every single day we were hanging out front, loads of different fish, eels, and even a monk seal the same day.

Would definitely recommend this spot due to everything mentioned above even if you don’t stay in exact unit we did. Mahalo Papakea, we will be returning in the future!

Great views on the water. Two pools. Walking distance to multiple food options like the food park. The ABC Store that is next door is all you need for most groceries and snacks.

Loved it, great amenities for the young and old. Gorgeous views of the ocean. Gas station, ABC stores, food trucks, Times supermarket all at walking distance.

Had a great stay here in Maui. Rooms and resort grounds are very clean and maintained. Two great pools and spas. Unfortunately, spas are soooo hot they are not relaxing or enjoyable. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. They have shuffle board, tennis and pickle ball equipment available for guests. Highly recommend and will definitely stay here again.

Really beautiful and well maintained, i absolutely loved sitting on the lanai and drinking my morning coffee, watching the waves and the fish in the koi pond. A very relaxing place and pretty quiet! The pool area was also beautiful and clean with lots of spaces and chairs by the ocean.

We stayed in H building for 10 days then in E building for 2 days after our flights were canceled by the airline. Great staff, great grounds. The pools are lovely and their were plenty of grills for everyone to use. We used the pool “houses” to host family meals since the places are somewhat small.
The only downsides were that there wasn’t beach access and they have very strict pool rules which weren’t very family friendly. We didn’t mind the lack of beach access as we like to snorkel at other beaches and don’t mind driving to those in the mornings. Overall, we would definitely stay here again!

Great place for a vacation. Close to grocery shopping and walkable to other shops. Two pools and hot tubs and 12 BBQs.

Front desk people were very nice. It was also pretty quiet seems like an older crowd staying here. Definitely a place to relax.
