Excellent helicopter tour over the lava fields, active crater, Hilo, and Rainbow Falls! The company is well run, and the pilot gave a great tour and commentary, while playing an awesome playlist! The day was quite cloudy and we weren't sure if we would fly until the last minute, so be patient if that is the case for you. Show up and be prepared; the clouds are always moving!)

Our helicopter tour was amazing! Incredible views, friendly staff, and our pilot was so nice and informative and made the flight easy despite experiencing motion sickness. Was so much fun regardless

We were really impressed with the Helicopter Tour provided by Paradise Helicopters. Starting from booking, following up the previous day of the tour, check-in, safety session, boarding, tour and back to airport was very professional / great experience. Even though there were no active volcanoes the pilot made sure we had really good experience / view of the craters, rainforest, water falls. I was lucky enough to get to be seated next to pilot and it was my first time riding a Helicopter, it was amazing experience. I would recommend them.

Had a great time on the tour, our guide was very friendly and gave out great information throughout the entire tour, always answering the questions that came up.

Absolutely amazing experience. If you only have time to do one thing- make it this. We had a wonderful time on this ride and learned so much about the island and history from our pilot. We were instructed on safety beforehand and never once felt unsafe (for all of you nervous flyers out there). This company really goes above and beyond on experience and it was more than worth the money.

I’m a bit torn on this experience. On one hand, it was once in a lifetime—volcano erupting and flying over it in a helicopter? Count me in!

I booked with my mom and my sister. My sister got the middle seat, and the two other seats occupied by another couple. The middle seat is just unacceptable. On one hand you see on both sides, on the other hand you have no AC and are squished. Not cool and somewhat offensive. And for the price?

We paid $310 for the tour. This is, even for non frugal travelers, A LOT for the experience. Is it worth doing? Yes. Is it worth over $300? Absolutely not. More like $175-$200–and that’s coming from a seasoned traveler. I’ve done my fair share of “experiences”

The pilot was awesome, really kind and pretty smooth in the air. If you get nauseous easily, I’d take a Dramamine before hand.

Overall, 3 stars here. I’m itching to give it 4, but I can’t do it for the value.

After a pretty disappointing hike to the Kilauea Overlook (with no lava lake / eruption view) we went for the „Lava & Rainforests Adventure“ from Hilo. It’s worth ever dollar, seriously. The route is awesome, the pilot fantastic (making sure everyone gets to see everything) and the views are just stunning.

DURING COVID AMAZING PEOPLE. FABULOUS. We did Experience Hawaii for a family of 5 on November 19,2020. I have tears in my eyes, as we chose a long time again to spend money on memories/experiences and buy our clothes at Walmart. These guys did not disappoint and this mom's heart is full. We saw inside volcanoes, lava fields, waterfalls like never in my lifetime. Look at what it looks like when your children see inside a volcano crater for the 1st time. I wish I made more money to be able to give back to these guys as what we received from safety to care to professionalism and in COVID, the safest and best experience EVER! Jody

This is the tour you're going to talk about for years to come - ours was a year ago and we still crow to our friends - doors off - lava - Hawai'i - what more could you ask for?

The pilots are the best hosts and the most skilled - this is not JUST a tour - this is the experience of a lifetime - do it - then do it AGAIN - because you WILL be back.

TIP: Take advice seriously - everything needs to be tied on and strapped in - wind is a big factor and loose items = bad - plan head - full battery in your camera - a fast zoom or prime lens 100-300mm range - we had two of us so one shot wide angle and one shot close - look at that shot! - thats 24mm prime - that's how close we got. Do it! (Do it with Bruce if you can)

Really great flight from Hilo Airport. The staff were friendly and helpful. Big shout out to Luca our pilot he was really great and we had a great time whilst up there. Full of knowledge about the area. You may not see lava, but you get a glimpse of an active volcano and it’s sheer destruction from above. So glad we booked this flight.

Extremely unprofessional & unreliable service. On the day of our reservation fully paid, they called us indicating they had to move our booking to 4: 30pm from the original time 3: 30pm indicating helicopter availability issue. We had booked for a group of 8 with children, so I asked them for 15min time to get back to them. When I called back to confirm they indicated that now the 4: 30pm was booked by someone else. We ended up cancelling & left with no helicopter tour for this visit of big island. Never again recommending or booking anything in HI with this agency.

We had an amazing experience with Paradise Helicopters. We took a 2 hour sunset tour and it was breathtaking. The pre-flight safety information was well done, the explanation of the route was helpful prior to the tour. Our pilot, Ryan, was extremely professional and engaging. He did an excellent job narrating the tour, and it was obvious that he is an accomplished pilot. He got us the best views and was always safe and aware of other aircraft and the weather. We’d use this company again in the future! Thank you for helping us make a wonderful family memory!

Fantastic flight. I was able to see the recent lava flow and look down inside the cone of Kīlauea. So close I could smell the sulfur dioxide big released from the cone. I would highly recommend the open door flight. This will be one of the first things I will do when I return to the Big Island.
