I recently had the pleasure of visiting Penthouse HNL, and I can confidently say that it was the best barbershop experience I have ever had. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome from the staff and made to feel right at home.

The shop itself was clean and well-maintained, with a stylish and modern decor that made for a comfortable and relaxing environment. The attention to detail was apparent in every aspect of the shop, from the perfectly arranged grooming tools to the thoughtfully chosen music and basketball highlights that played in the background.

But what truly sets Penthouse HNL apart is the talent and skill of the barbers themselves. The owner, Johnny, took the time to listen to my needs and preferences, and was able to create a perfect skin fade. The precision and care with which he worked was truly impressive, and I could tell that he took great pride in his craft.

Penthouse has a simple yet elegant look that's well-kept and clean. The atmosphere looks and feels like a place that will get the job done right.
Brendan, my barber, made sure of just that. He listened to what I wanted, gave suggestions, and then clearly communicated what he was going to do. Brendan was professional, friendly, honest, and paid great attention to detail.

Great haircut Steven was a professional! Had trouble finding the place. You gotta go into the building unit and go up to the top floor and the place is located right at the end.

My review is for Daylan. I was visiting on vacation and heard about this place from my cousin who had a good experience.

My hair is very challenging as it’s extremely straight and coarse and any small mistake stands out. Usually it takes barbers several visits before they get the cut how I like it. Daylan nailed it on the first. He showed my head special attention and really impressed me with fixing areas I would have brought up later but didn’t need to. If you need a tight neat fade, Daylan is a great choice

My first haircut on the island and it was AMAZING. Johnny is very talented and patient, he spent over an hour on the tiniest details of the haircut making sure that I look great. He is very personable and the barber shop looks pristine. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get a haircut.

Wow! What a wonderful experience I had today at Penthouse HNL! First off the look of the shop is amazing! The white marble looking floors paired with the white walls and white barber chairs set the whole experience up from the jump! I totally felt underdressed, but at home at the same time.
Elijah, the Cali cutting genius, gave me a fade so smooth, I was totally turning heads at work. One of my male coworkers told me my fade was tighter than his!
I’ve never had my hair this short, but Elijah’s work of art with my hair has given me a boast of confidence to rock this do for a good minute!

Just moved to Oahu and was looking for a quality shop in the area. I booked a cut with Elijah and he didn't disappoint. Great cut! Elijah takes his time to figure out exactly what you are looking for, so you leave happy. Besides his barber skills you can also have a good conversation with him while your there, and that goes for all the barbers there. Everyone is friendly and has a good personality. Definitely happy I picked Penthouse, won't be going anywhere else on the island.

Had a haircut today after 2 years of growing out my hair. Daylan knew what I wanted and delivered. He was meticulous and confident with each snip. Overall great experience with penthouse hnl.

Been coming here for about a year now and they truly don't disappoint! Needed a place that did online appointments and have experience cutting fine/thin, asian hair. Johnny is the guy! Extremely talented and knowledgeable and can cut my uncooperative hair like no one else in the island.

What can I say that hasn’t already been mentioned here before. For about a year after moving to Oahu and trying multiple barbers across the island, I just happened to stumble in to a nearby shop where Johnny, the now Proprietor of Penthouse HNL, had just become available. The service he provided was exemplary and he took the time and great care to make sure that I got exactly what. Well, I didn’t get exactly what I wanted, I got much more. I received the best, most precise and intricate haircut in my life. I knew I had found my barber.

This was not just a haircut, but an experience. Johnny used tools and techniques I have never seen any of my other barbers use, and the result was a fresh, sleek, very professional look. I quickly realized that this was the next level hair care for me. Since then I have followed Johnny through his time building his skillset and have seen his hard work lead up to him now having a shop of his own shop that is now setting a standard in the local industry. On several occasions he has traveled for conferences and workshops in order to keep up with new trends, techniques, tools and products and has even hosted his own workshops to share his knowledge with others and the next generation of barbers.

Seeing the passion that Johnny has for his craft, his attention to detail, and high standards has given me a new appreciation for a barber’s ability to make a person feel the very best they can about themselves. I have no doubts that any of the barbers, including the juniors, will give you an immaculate trim as I have been able to see firsthand their work while getting my own service. I’m thoroughly impressed by all.

Got my dome piece cut by Cristian (Cris)! That dude is the truth with the clippers, and he was good at making sure I continued to like the after product. I walked in a bum, walked out a player! Definitely recommend going there, especially for black men!

I was in town and desperately needed a haircut and picked this place solely based upon the reviews, and I was not even remotely disappointed. Cristian cut my hair, and I completely understand why so many comments are from people who followed him here from another salon. He is freaking awesome! His energy and positive attitude are incredible to be around, and his haircut skills as an absolute art form. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted, and he had an incredible vision that turned out awesome! I would highly recommend these guys.

First barber I saw when I got to Hawaii was Cristian. He will also be the only barber I plan on seeing in Hawaii. Best barber out there, the man knows what he is about and has the passion to excel on every cut!

The most expensive hair cut in the United States, I know the problem is me to not have money enough to go to those places.
