Princeville Botanical Gardens

This was an amazing 1 mile walking tour… slow and easy Saw a lot of amazing plants that I have not seen before and our tour guide was very helpful with his knowledge of the plants there.
The chocolate tasting was interesting, never realized the difference in location can make the chocolate taste soooooo different. Was able to buy a bar to there own chocolate that they make there from there own cocoa beans. Most of the time they don’t have enough chocolate to be able to sell, cuz most of it goes to there tasting tour.
Of the 8 different chocolate we tasted from all over the world, there own chocolate bar was the best.
I would recommend this tour to anyone… they supply all natural bug spray, umbrellas and walking sticks.

If you get the chance to visit the island of Kauai, I highly recommend taking a tour through these gardens. The land is absolutely stunning, and the guides are very knowledgeable about all the plant life growing on the property. You get to sample some of the fruit and chocolate grown there and learn about the chocolate making process. I took a ridiculous amount of photos

The Botanical Gardens is so amazing and beautiful. There are so many unique plants and flowers. Just make sure to wear plenty of bug spray. The chocolate tasting was delicious and the staff are friendly and informative.

I am a HUGE plant lover and I have no words for this botanical garden. After a small booking kerfluffle on my part, JanMarie was able to rebook my party of seven into a private afternoon tour in November instead of a morning group tour. Our tour guide was Troy and not only was he super knowledgeable, he was super passionate about Kauai. You could tell he really enjoyed what he was doing!

The property is so incredibly gorgeous, the chocolate tasting is fun and educational (and delicious!) and the staff is just really, really wonderful. If you have a larger group, I would HIGHLY recommend doing a private tour. It is absolutely worth the extra cost.

We had an amazing time here! The grounds are absolutely beautiful! Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. The chocolate tasting was enjoyable. This was a wonderful start to our vacation!

These gardens are so magical! Our guide was so knowledgeable and you could tell she loved plants and her job! We saw so many unique and beautiful plants and learned so much! It was so interesting to learn the process of how a cacao plant turns into chocolate. I loved tasting all the different kinds of chocolate (if you aren't a fan of dark chocolate you might not like many of them) the 3 hour tour went by so fast, it was nice to have the tasting in the middle to sit & relax before heading back out into the garden. It was kind that they provided bug spray, but if you are a mosquito favorite (like me) you might want to consider wearing pants, because the mosquitos are determined, ha. Overall, we loved the gardens & I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone!

This was the best botanical garden tour I’ve ever gone to! It was amazing! The tour guides were wonderful and they did a really great job explaining everything all the plants and trees. There are so many exotic plants and flowers. They are all super impressive and amazing to see. I definitely will come again and do the tour again. Lastly, the chocolates that they give you to sample are wonderful and so good to eat all the fresh fruits and learn how chocolate is made from the farm to the chocolate maker.

This tour was really great! Our guise Sheri had so much information to share. The gardens are some of the most beautiful you’ll see in your life. We really enjoyed the fresh fruit and chocolate tastings too! Very highly recommend!

My husband I love gardening back home so we were looking forward to this tour. Wow! We were not disappointed. I couldn't believe the amount of planning it takes to keep everyone's interests, sharing great educational information on plants, the history behind the plants and what they were primarily used for in hawaiin culture. Our guide spoke about history and geology which was fascinating. We really enjoyed the interactive chocolate tour and now know what to look for in a high quality, organic chocolate. Great job guys! If we come back to Kawaii, this will definitely be a must.

I enjoyed everything about this tour! Our guide Robin was amazing! I loved her bubbly personality and knowledge of the exotic plants, fruits and chocolate. I would say this is the best tour I have been on out of all my travels. I learned so much today and hope I can remember it all. I stocked up on chocolate before leaving and look forward to when the "orange" sample becomes available lol!

We went there on a rainy day, which didn’t deter from how beautiful the place was. However our guide mostly walked us around the property and didn’t offer that many explanations about the different plants unless someone asked questions. The tastings were delicious!

Beautiful place, no questions there. The tour was way too long. The upper section and the chocolate tasting was dragged out too long. I felt that they were going slow to make the tour last three hours. The bottom section is where it is at. Spending an hour there is worth it. The top and chocolate should be an hour combined at most. The tour was going too slow even for the senior citizens in our group. It is worth maybe $30-40 for the tour, no where near the $100 it cost. Tour guide was great. Everyone was friendly and professional. I would’ve preferred just walking around on my own with a good pamphlet with detailed information on plants and trees.

Absolutely amazing! The gardens are beautiful, the tastings are a fun treat, and the tour guides are so knowledgeable! A must see when you visit Kauai!

A beautiful tour with very informative guides. Sherry was excellent, and so was her partner on the chocolate tasting portion. Absolutely recommend! I was a little concerned it would be muddy with all the rain that week, but we didn't have any issues with mud or slippery paths.
