What a great little adventure. We hiked down (definitely suggest hiking shoes or bare feet). The water was rough but still a beautiful view and cool to see!

Very slippery and muddy path down to the water. The main gate in is locked, just go around to the right and you will see the obvious path to follow.

Once you get down you will find a sign with the number of drownings in the area! Don't plan on swimming in the winter big wave months, don't get to close to the edge or you might go swimming unplanned when a big wave comes and washes you off the rocks.

Despite the mud and the big waves it's a beautiful area and worth the effort to get down there just to look around.

The hike thereis muddy and sort of tricky, but once you get to this piece of nature's beauty, you'll see that it's well worth it. Absolutely gorgeous views! Don't forget your hiking shoes.

Hard to find the starting of the trail. One path was super muddy (liquid) the other was off the path but dry. Well worth it!

When you arrive, the parking is to the left of the gate. Very limited, but we were able to get a spot without waiting. There is a closed gate with a bunch of warning signs, but if you continue on down a bit to the right of the gate, there is a clear access path.

The hike is very short, but very slippery, muddy, and steep. There were points I was on all fours just trying not to slip down the hill. It's a little sketchy, but it is worth it! Wear hiking shoes and embrace the mud. I would not recommend going after a rain, because it could be pretty scary and slippery.

We went in the evening when the tide was low, and it seemed pretty calm and safe. There is a small pool near the edge where the ocean waves splash into, and then a larger section that circles around a huge lava rock mound. That area is totally calm, no waves whatsoever. I didn't bring my swimsuit, and wished that I had! That being said, this is a dangerous spot. No railings, just a step away from plunging into the ocean or being dragged out by a stray wave. Be smart, be careful, and go slow.

We just did this hike in October 2021. There is a locked gate at the top of the trail with a big sign attached that shows the warning featured in many of the photos already posted. But also, there is a way to bypass the locked gate without climbing any fences or anything.

The hike down itself is a bit treacherous because the path is steep, it's all undeveloped with vast expanses of very slick clay mud, and footing is treacherous. But otherwise, it's a short and simple hike that is not very technical. It also just happens to border a steep jungle hillside. - like so many of the other beautiful hiking experiences on Kauai do.

It seems that the convention here in Kauai is to just mark trails/landings/etc as closed and off limits to avoid liability for accidents, rather than improve any of them. Maybe this serves to limit the number of visitors and dodge responsibility for bad situations, but it really seems like a sort of "cop-out" solution.

Regardless, if you're not intentionally foolish or more clumsy than the average human, then you should be fine on this trail and in the "bath" tide pool - so long as you don't actively pursue being dangerous. Its extremely easy for a thoughtless act on these trails to end very, very badly.

Short hike with a dash of danger. We took our 6 year old he only slipped a few times. Hold their hands.

Amazing spot! A bit of a hike (~20 minutes each way) but worth it. You're gonna get muddy though!

Tough hike after the rain, but it's worth it. Make sure you wear your bathing suit and wear old shoes, or ones you don't mind getting extremely muddy.

Wow this place is incredible! The tide was very high and the waves were powerful so we just did the hike and kept our distance from the water. Some people decided to swim which was probably not the best idea because the water is unpredictable and can easily sweep you away. Definitely recommended doing the hike though because the views are indescribable and breathtaking!

Spectacular! The baths are amazing, and absolutely worth the trip down to see.

Swimming here is very dangerous, as you likely already know. We expected like some other tide pools, where it looks mostly calm and protected but a rogue wave could pull you away. When we visited in late October, it looked very obviously unsafe at even a quick glance. At a calmer time of year, it might trick you, but you could still get pulled out by that occasional wave much stronger than the rest.

I didn't have safety concerns with the trail out, nor with the rocks above where you'd watch and take photos (but not swim). The trail is very muddy, slippery, and steep, but if you fall you'd likely just get very dirty, not fall off a cliff or anything. Once you get to the bath part at the bottom, where falling would matter more, the footing/grip is solid. As long as you're in decent shape, and wear shoes with good grip, you'll be fine.

You will, however, have to go around (not over) a fence to get started. Head from the parking lot away from the nearest intersection and towards the nearest house. There will be a gap between the private property and the trail fence, where you can get started. The signs will tell you to stop, but you will have plenty of company going to the baths anyway, and why do they still provide a parking lot if they really want to stop you?

Nice short hike. A tad buddy but fortunately once your at the bottom you can go for a cleansing swim if the tide isn’t too high. Tons of crabs around the rocks

Don't go here with small kids. Absolutely terrible experience. No parking spots. Walk to Queens bath is treacherous. We ended up just returning instead of going ahead with it.

Queens bath is amazing. Beautiful views. There are a few small baths that are safe to get in. I snorkels in them and saw some cool fish. Some crazy teenagers were doing flips into the toilet bowl. Makes sense why so many have drowned here. Just be smart and you will have a good time

Really cool to see the cliffs and little bath pods. Unfortunately when I went the waves were 16 feet high and it was too dangerous to go in, but really made for more epic and scenic waves splashing against the rocks. There is also a small waterfall in the middle of the hike.

Be careful if it is rainy it gets very muddy and is slippery, be prepared to get your feet dirty or have decent hiking shoes but it is a short hike at least.

This was a beautiful place! We went in the morning for more calm waters and it was perfect to swim in

Just incredible… must see if you come to Kauai. When you get down the path, go left… and go left some more… then you’ll see queens bath!
