Amazing staff with quick and attentive service with the absolute best combo on the island! So much food for $15. Highly recommended!

Maui's newest and sadly only second ramen shop opened on 5.31.23 in Puunene SC. The company is now officially a chain with this second location (other is on Oahu).

ATMOSPHERE:
Quarters are tight so you shouldn't try to bring in a party larger than 4 and leave your strollers in the car. No counter seating, only low tops. A semi-loud overhead radio station in turn made patrons speak even louder.

RESERVATIONS:
None taken.

PARKING:
Plenty of free parking.

MENU:
Combo sets, seafood & poultry dishes, noodles, ramen & udon, kid's menu.

FOOD:
Mini Pork Fried Rice - $10.50
One of the hallmarks of ramen shops is their fried rice. They usually have a distinctive yet subtle "grill-flavor" which I attribute to a well-seasoned pan. I did get a little of that here, so I'm positive as time goes on it'll get better. Peas, green onion & kamaboko also reside within.

Karaage Chicken - $8.45 (5 pcs.)
Light and airy batter, crispy and perfectly cooked, this was extremely good. A katsu sauce heavy on ketchup flavor accompanied, but I prefer mine drizzled with shoyu.

Shrimp Tempura - $8.75 (4 pcs.)
Whomever the cook is, props to them as this was another deep-fried winner. I'm pretty sure they were of the frozen variety but sure didn't taste like it.

Gyoza - $6.95 (5 pcs.)
Sadly these were out, whop wah wahhh. (sad sound effects)

*Yay, they were available on our second visit. The wrappers were thinner than the norm (a plus in my book), averagely-stuffed with pork and had a nice char to the bottoms.

Charsiu Shoyu Ramen - $15.95
Shoyu broth is my favorite. The posted pics didn't wow me, but I still had to try it first. It had an odd flavor & color; savory, a bit creamy but flat overall. The non-eggy, al dente noodles were of the thin, yellow variety like they use in chow mein or crispy noodle dishes and killed it for me. I'd prefer bean sprouts over the included bok choy, though the charsiu slices were really good; soft, a bit fatty and moist.

Black Garlic Udon - $15.95
I had a sip of my spouse's bowl and damn, it was good! Bold flavors of savory & creamy. Definitely getting this next time. He did mention the egg was hard boiled vs.medium gooey.

*Fast forward a few days and we were back. I ordered this exact same dish. Hmm, the broth was a lot weaker than my spouse's, a sign of inconsistency. While I'm not a fan of udon noodles in general, they simply did not marry well to the broth. Pass.

SERVICE:
We walked in at 1pm on a Monday to a packed house but got seated immediately.

Water was dropped off soon after with the server a few ticks later.

The food came out lightning quick but most importantly everything was hot and fresh.

There was no follow up but it wouldn't be hard to flag down a worker as they're constantly buzzing by.

TIP:
Some reviewers mentioned an automatic 15% service charge but we weren't charged that. Perhaps they had a large party?

OVERALL:
Less than stellar ramen but favorable everything else. Welcome to Maui, you're going to stay constantly busy.

My darling brought me here to try the food. Between us, we had 6 side dishes and 2 bowls of ramen

There was a queue, but staff cleared tables quick. All the food was delicious, arrived hot within 5-10 mins of ordering, and all the staff were friendly and efficient. Fried rice had the charred and savory flavor, as it should. Fried chicken pieces were piping hot and tasty. Veggie rolls were crispy. All fried items came with dipping sauce, on top of the plethora of condiments on the table. There’s even a kids’ menu.

Loved the bright space with pictures of dishes on the walls. Can’t wait to go back and try more food.

Big fan of there chicken katsu with the Japanese curry ramen bowl. Udon noodles are nice and filling. Good portion of chicken too. Lightening fast service.

I ordered food to go. It was the combination with two sides. So I ordered the mochicko chicken (not what I had expected) not deep fried with the sauce. And the fried rice with pork which was ok. For the soup it was the to katsu udon. It took about 15 minutes to arrive. I took it home I was very disappointed the soup was separate from the noodles and it was very hard. I wouldn’t recommend going there.

My son was craving Gyoza so we came in. Not only did we have the best gyoza I’ve had on the island (comparable to Morimoto) we also had the best chicken katsu I’ve had in my whole life on Maui. The prices are insanely low, especially considering the huge portions you get. Sooo glad we stopped here randomly.

The beef sukiyaki udon slaps. The customer service goes above and beyond. The restaurant has a casual ambience and it filled with the savory aroma of the dishes being ordered. This place is also located conveniently by target to get grocery shopping done. Dishes are also reasonably priced. Overall a great experience.

We love the food, taste, and workers are kind but so so hardworking. Prepare for a line on Friday and Saturday but it’s well worth the wait. This is the closest to Japan ramen you’ll get on Maui. No “local style Saimin” here. Their combo ramen + side is a great option. Highly recommend the black garlic udon or spicy tonkotsu ramen.

Cool spot next to a lot of shopping. The food was incredible and the price is unbeatable. The ramen combos are a must have!

Ordered takeout of fries and pork fried rice I was very disappointed. French fries was not as on picture which it was not Kringle fries they should have informed me then it seemed to be a used small container because it had left over cabbage inside. The pork fried rice was something else, who puts kamaboku in pork fried rice? Could have done without.

Very good ramen
From beef, oxtail, and pork broth to all the appetizers.
Service is great. Not expensive
Small space with a lot of chairs and tables but they make it work.

Stopped in because I was looking for a late meal. I'm glad I did. It's open late, which is awesome, but the food was top-notch, flavorful, generous portions and fast service. I will be going again soon.

Pretty good overall! Really enjoyed my takoyaki and ramen when I was there, and my friend was able to find one or two things that were vegan to have on the menu. Would love to come back and try maybe their other meat and rice options to see how they are
