Reeds Bay Beach Park reviews
13Close to town this local hang out is where kids jump off pilings and swim, babies play in the sand, it has bathrooms and showers, picnic tables and large Banyan trees for shade. Great for kayaking, paddle boarding or just BBQing with friends and family.
While not a lot, this is the one place I could find in Hilo that had some while sands for children to play on. There was lots of parking and conveniently located facilities. There are also picnic areas with shade present around the water.
Best beach for paddle boarding beginners on this side of the island. No contest
But be aware, water is cold due to deep fresh water springs and lots of rocks leading into the water. Probably want to bring water shoes or tabi's
This is our go to.stop for family gatherings. Located conveniently at the beginning of Banyan Drive. It jas sand for Littles and spots for bigger kids (or kids at heart) to jump off. There is a bathroom located there with an outdoor shower.
Nice place, you can take a bath, go for a swim, enjoy a buffet with traditional local food and enjoy the show.
Different, grass, trees, before rocky shoreline.
Use bug spray on your cloths.
Great for meditation
Perfect place to paddle board, a little snorking, but definitely a safe Bay for swimming with the kids.
A nice place with turtles, interesting bays and places to admire the reef. The advantage of this place is few people and shallow safe water for children.
Big parking lot, nice views of the water. Picnic spots so you can bring a grill and have a BBQ
Beautiful place, picnic tables everywhere, what a nice view and amazing trees, calm energy, showers, BEAUTIFUL! GREAT SPOT
I don't think it has been marked right on the map. Actually, it's right at the east side of the Banyan Dr, on the opposite side of the currently marked place, to the south of Reeds Bay Resort.
Be careful of the rocks if you want to swim there. They HURT.
Busy area but worth a nice walk and a beautiful view. Plenty of shady spots, bathrooms and street/lot parking, tables. Gotta get in early though, gets crowded fast
Always a good time at reeds bay and it's close to everything, convenient, beautiful views
