Richardson Ocean Park reviews
13Nice little black sand beach with lots of lava rock to climb on to watch the waves crash on. Great place for having a family picnic, lots of surfers, swimmers, and people enjoying the park.
I am a free diver for almost 5 years now, my favorite place to free dive is Richardson beach.kahaluu beach and two steps.
There aren't a lot of places where you can hang iut on a beach this side of the island.
It is a small area but beautiful with a clean bathroom to change in.
Excellent beach! I suggest water shoes unless you're local and have been walking on lava for years. Nice play to swim a bit, not far from town. Fresh water shower and restroom. Small picnic area. Lifeguard sometimes.
This is one of the coolest beaches on Hilo side! It has some rich history behind it stemming from the Malo family.
Beautiful (honu) or turtles you will always find them resting on the rocks as long as the beach is not crowded you will definitely see them
Quite an extraordinary place though perhaps not apparently so at first: you must get in the water with your snorkel gear!
There is a thermodynamic-defying mix of warm dense salt water on the bottom of these pools with cooler fresh water on top creating a curious blur beneath the surface! And better yet there are sea turtles lounging about eating algae! Truly an unforgettable experience!
We stopped here after rainbow falls. It is a nice and unique black sand beach and park. It was pretty cool and worth a quick walk through.
Good beach with sand, not just rocks. Nice places for swimming. I recommend having water shoes, the rocks are sharp and sometimes hidden underwater. Fresh water shower and restrooms. Small parking lot but really, if it's full, so is the beach. To me it's a good indicator. I don't want to try that location if the lot is full.
It was pretty choppy so we couldn't snorkel as much as we liked but what we did see was still cool as all get out
Wonderful park for snorkeling and swimming. A lot of fish and was lucky enough to see a few sea turtles.
This was such an amazing experience! We saw a sea turtle relaxing under some rocks and when I went to swim in the ocean, a sea turtle rubbed against me and joined me in my swim! Definitely recommend going!
The best local Beach for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing. Great for kids. Plenty of sun and also shade. Lifeguard on duty.
Just a perfect place. Lots of families with kids of all ages. Young and old couples. Everyone comes here! Parking is easy in the morning, but fills up quick. Still there's plenty of alternative parking along the adjacent roads.
