Sam's Kitchen, Honolulu HI

A shop that sells the statue of Akebono, which was placed there due to the demolition of a commercial facility, at an auction and displays it in the storefront. It seems that the shop is run by Sam-san, who appears in a TV program introducing Hawaii. I don't know him, but some people come because they want to see him.

Style to order by selecting ingredients, sauce, rice and salad. There are quite a few seats and you can sit normally when you come at night. There are seats outside with good wind, so outside is recommended when it's cool.

I ate shrimp with original garlic and chicken with teriyaki, but both were pretty delicious.
It's done in a bowl style, so when it's done, is it such a small box? I think, but there are quite a lot of ingredients and I feel satisfied.
Both sets with rice cost a total of $30, so I think it's reasonable in Hawaii.

The taste is easy for Japanese people to eat, so if you are staying nearby and are having trouble with dinner, I think you should visit.

If you want a quick and basic meal then this can be the place. Otherwise, the food is too salty and cashier has poker face all the time.

Original garlic shrimp was delicious. Service was excellent. Perfect small plate with one side.

Sam's Kitchen was where Cheat Takeyama opened the shaved ice shop. I visited for the first time then.
There is a bronze statue of a sumo wrestler, which draws attention.
The order is like deciding the main, selecting the sauce, and ordering.
If you ask for takeaway, it will be served on a plate.
It's a stable deliciousness, isn't it? No matter what you eat, I think it's delicious. This time, I got chicken and garlic shrimp.

Garlic shrimp was pretty good, but I would have liked a better shrimp to rice ratio. Shrimp are mostly peeled already.

Most unfriendly lady in the entire island. We waited for an hour for the food. The family came after us had their food and finished and we were still waiting. I guess you can order online before you head over there. I am sure there are other choices you can find in the town.

Great atmosphere, food wasn’t as good as the reviews mentioned. Not even worth taking pics of.

Also mentioned that the fries were cassava fries but they weren’t.

We got the steak with the garlic sauce, white rice, Mac salad, leafy green salad. The other entree was the shrimp with spicy garlic sauce and white rice. Both were sooo delicious! We spoke to the assistant about the cuisine and she stated it was a Japanese Hawaiian influence. Sam's is a great choice if staying in Waikiki and a budget friendly one too.

Ordered take out and the food was delicious. It was hot and ready when in came to pick it up. I wish I could have dined in. The place and atmosphere looked awesome and cool. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. I hope to go back one day.

Not my vibe. Had just arrived in Oahu and was starving and tired from flight so went to this place close to hotel. Atmosphere was not good. Not very clean and horrible smell in all seating areas. Food was subpar and got nauseous with the smell of area and dirty seating and table. Potatoes under cooked and hard I’m potatoes salad. Garlic shrimp with plain white rice and just lettuce with potato salad was just a weird meal combo and not very good. Couldn’t enjoy or finish. Sorry but not recommended as they are too many places to choose.

Exceptional traditional food. Simple and very tasty. Setting leave something to be desired, but good to go restaurant.

Spicy garlic shrimp and raw fresh fish (poke) were amazing. Spicy garlic shrimp is a must have. Outdoor picnic tables. A few pesky pigeons. Ordering ahead is a good idea during peak times.

I loved the place, very simple, and the food is delicious. The girl who served us gave us very good service and was patient. I recommend it
