Saucy Dogs, Hilo HI

Saucy Dogs serves up some tasty South Island dawgs. Soft bun, choice of weiner, and either pre-made fixins or choose your own.

It was the first time trying a red Hawaiian dog which is a mix of pork and beef, and is actually red, but mm it was good.

Had the Chicago Dog with ketchup (sorry Chicago) and the Spicy Dog with jalapeños, pepper jack, and Chipotle mayo.

And super duper friendly service.

Been here a couple of times. There is not a lot of space-more of a walk up and take the food to-go place but worth it. The Aloha dog is my favorite!

Hot Dogs were alright, expected sth more but we might’ve not picked the best ones so I’ll give the benefit of the doubt. I’m taking one more star away as the restaurant is open till 4: 30 not 5 (Google’s got it wrong) and we got there at 4: 10 or so and were extremely rushed by the staff that was annoyed we were even there. They didn’t have some of the things available because, as they said, they were already closing. Not a pleasant experience, although if you get there before 4 and can take your time to make some thought through choices you might enjoy your meal as the restaurant has lots of good reviews.

Super friendly, good prices, and most important of all, great tasting food. So far my favorite place I’ve eaten in hilo.

The elevated hot dog, for sure! I really enjoyed the variety of hot dogs they offer. I had the Aloha Dog and the Spicy Delight. Both were delicious, flavorful and worth it. Definitely the place to get a hot dog fix! Stop by if you can.

Fun, unique, family friendly build your own hot dog experience. Short lunchtime hours so always check to make sure if it is open if you plan to stop by. A few tables and benches outside. Really reasonable prices for the build your own option. Veggie dog available for the vegetarian visitors. Friendly staff that greet you with Aloha and even write Mahalo on the to go box (50 cents for t go boxes). Next time I'll bring the family and let the kids build a Saucy dog.

First time visiting the island and this place was recommended to us by a friend. So delicious! And the ladies were so nice and friendly! Would come back again, they literally put anything on a hot dog!

I had a Portuguese sausage dog with sweet bread bun, Mac n cheese and bacon. And the food was excellent, the presentation was excellent, the service was excellent. I highly recommend this place!

Creative and tasty hot dogs. Wife called hers "the best hot dog [she] had ever had". Very friendly service.
