Short N Sweet Bakery & Cafe reviews
16Good quality food, friendly staff but breakfast bowl is $14 and is very small. Should be priced at $8. BLTA again has fresh ingredients but is mostly focaccia bread.
I don’t usually leave reviews but I had to for this one. Called the store and they put me on hold and simply forgot about me. Had to call back for my questions and decided to stop by the shop and it was completely empty.there was not a single customer inside. I got the last 6” cake… it was $75? ! … ridiculously overcharged. Asked them to write a message on the cake and they made we wait 20 min even though I was the only customer there. I thought they were waiting for the best writer or something so I was just patiently waiting.when they brought it back out, I was expecting some top notch handwriting but this, in the picture, is what I got. Absolutely horrendous! Makes me want to puke looking at it. So mad and sad. 0/10 recommend.

Replying to the response from the owner:
The transaction was done well before the cake came out. The cake didn't seem salvageable since it would've been the same person rewriting the message. I'm sure you wouldn't be happy either if you had to pay almost $100 for a cake for it to come out looking like this.
I was really impressed by the selection, the quality of food, the friendly service, and the speed. I was a little worried when we pulled up into a strip mall, but I'm glad we stayed.
We had a breakfast sandwich and a Kehalo bar, both were amazing!
Bad coffee, over priced water down.
Scrabled eggs where barely cooked and runny. Bread and cinnamon roll were good
$15 for a lox n bagel with hardly any salmon and soggy bagels. Most times this place is great but this time was a little disappointing.
Breakfast sandwich on foccacia ftw. Kohala Crunch Bar and Hilo Bar complement each other well for dessert
Great service and super yummy fresh pastries.the toasted coconut shortbread cookies. Fresh salads, sandwiches, coffee drinks and a couple of delicious breakfast sandwiches make this spot a delight.
I ordered the panini with herb roasted chicken, basil pesto, mozzarella cheese, roasted bell peppers, and local greens.
What I got for $15: a mound of dry canned chicken, wilted Romain lettuce, and bread. No roasted peppers, no local greens, no cheese!
Missing 3 out of the 5 ingredients listed on the menu and nobody said anything? Why would I come back?
Wonderful and delicious sweets. Highly recommend! Cookies, cake, macarons, baklava and even lunch items.
My favorite place for decadent and delicious sweet treat. The food is amazing too, healthy and mouth watering!
Great little restaurant / bakery. Excellent customer service. Shout out to Naomi for those bomb sandwiches, they were off the chain.
They made my wedding cake beautifully. I got lilikoi filling on top and pog on bottom and lilikoi buttercream. It was so good!
Friendly service, kudos to whoever bakes for this great little place, I wish I could have tasted everything I saw here! I highly recommend eating here! What a treat!
Employees were great but honestly, very overpriced and not very yummy. I've had better baked stuff from grocery stores
The owner is very cold hearted. My daughter is ill and msg the owner the day before work and the owner told her not to come back.
Please do not support this kind of management. Character is everything. Don't support this kind of energy going into your food and body.
We do not need this type of business in Hilo.

I understand your response. My review is appropriate for people like me. When I look to invest in a business, start up, or simply traveling to an unknown country - the first thing I do is talk to the employees. Only the employees can give an honest review. Customers, photos, and websites only get your best front. My money only goes to kind souls. That's how I am. I stand by my review.
My daughter had doctors orders to stay home for minimum 24hrs. I'm proud of her for standing up for the health of others in risk of jeopardizing her grade. It's not easy to make such decisions. It saddens me to think you'd jeopardize the health of your establishment and the livelihood of the public (a pandemic) in such a manner.
We are not bitter or upset. It worked out for my daughter and she's happier with the way things are now. It happened for a reason and we're thankful for it.
