It was our first time to a deal with a company who does home inspections. Trevor D.did a very thorough inspection. The way he communicated and explained all of his findings were very clear; from existing conditions to recommendations supported with photos and descriptions with details.

To say that Trevor, our inspector, was thorough is an understatement. Trevor completed an hour half investigation (yes, investigation) of the apartment. He took the initiative to go out of his way and obligation to uncover causes and possible reasons for irregularities and shortcomings.

Trevor provided a very detailed inspection report for a condo in Honolulu. What was really appreciated was the video call walk through of the main points of the report as we are based overseas. His explanations were very clear which allowed us to proceed with the purchase with confidence.

Signature Home Inspections is undoubetedly the best on island. I'm in the military and considering a home in Kaneohe following my recent PCS notice. First and foremost, Trevor is someone that you can trust. He will do the right thing by you personally, his client. Other home inspectors may align themselves with agents whose focus is more on closing the deal. Trevor has character. Yet Trevor also has the experience to back it up and do the job right. He produced a detailed 270 page report for me, complete with hyperlinks, pictures, and explanations for a very VERY reasonable deal. During the walk through, no question was left unanswered, no stone unturned. If you want someone who is YOUR ally during the difficult and stressful home buying process, go with Signature Home Inspections. If you want to save yourself potentially tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars at a cost of only a few hundred dollars, go with Signature Home Inspections. He'll give you the tough, sometimes ugly truth. In short, Trevor's honesty, candid feedback, and vast base of knowledge are what compelled me to write this review. Honestly, wow, what an in depth inspection report with suggestions in person and in writing. We're still in escrow, but Trevor left us with a lot to think about, and with lots of options. He also reassured us about the property and considerations of moving forward with action items. Home inspection seems like an especially challenging job: the sellers want a clear report, and the buyers do too — so if you have any news to share that is less than perfection (and no house is perfect), disappointment is a certainty.

It’s the kind of job that takes someone with a calling to do it. It is clear to me after two inspections for us that S. I. H are best-in-class. I would not even consider looking elsewhere for a home inspection after such an outstanding experience (x2).

Signature Inspections Hawaii was able to communicate both the adequacy and deficiency of both houses we had inspected in a crystal clear, thorough and visual (so many photos!) manner.

Every question that I had was not only answered but encouraged. There was no rushed part. Never in my wildest dreams did I consider that a home inspection could somehow be fun, but it was. I learned so much — about the house being inspected and things to look out for (good and bad) when considering a home or as a home owner.

The first inspection that Trevor completed made it clear that the home had significant foundational issues that were too much for us to feel good about purchasing. We were disappointed at first, but extremely grateful we dodged a bullet.

Trevor was extensive in his inspection, and yet remained unbiased as he shared all findings, so we could make our own decision if the property was a good fit for our needs, and what kind of repairs we felt good about taking on ourselves.

After hiring S. I. H.for two house inspections (both in August 2023), I would summarize them as:

Thorough — Going into the deepest crawl space, walking through an absolutely disgusting and infested attic, and across multi-story roofs

Clear communication — We received a 300 page extensive report with multiple images to reference each instance where there was concern. Trevor was with us in-person as he went through the report with us, answering any questions we had along the way

Honest — Now that I’ve found Signature, I want to continue the conversation about the house we decided to purchase. Their upfront honesty and knowledge about houses in Hawaii is substantial and is a resource I am deeply grateful to have in my new home owner's toolbelt.

I can't say enough good things about Trevor and Signature Home Inspections! So professional, courteous, and trustworthy - and a great value, too! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone in Hawaii needing a home inspection. I wish I could give a sixth star!
