Skinny Mike's Ice Cream & Shave Ice, Lihue HI

Great ice cream and shave ice shop in the shopping complex. Lots of flavors available, and options for milkshakes and banana splits.

I stopped in here twice for "milkshakes". I had mine made with coconut milk and the pineapple sorbet. Really lived this little shop. Highly recommend for a cool and refreshing treat.

This is some of the best ice cream my family and I have ever had. The young people working the counter were very nice, and they definitely do not skimp on the scoops. We've been here every day on our vacation. Highly recommend!

Wailua shave ice is with fresh fruit and way better and the best iced I’ve ever had. This one had bigger portions and the syrup
Flavors you pour on. I got the coconut ice cream with flakes with coconut icy on top. Good not great and seem a tad bitter without the ice cream. The table outside was extremely disgustingly sticky.

Was not a fan of the shaved ice, once I had the real fruit syrup at other places in Kauai I just can’t go back to the syrup here. But, the girl working was unreal! She was on her own during spring break, line out the door and working so hard and so friendly. Was so impressed by her!

Delicious as always. A must stop on every visit to Kaua’i. Baby girl got Banana Storm and I got Cookies & Cream and Salted Carmel. Yum!

The macadamia nut ice cream was really great. I had it in the s’mores Sunday. The service was a little slow but if in the area it’s a good ice cream place to go.

While the ice cream is fine, the shave ice was disappointing. The syrups are very artificial tasting compared to some other places for shave ice on the island. And when I returned within a few minutes (literally 5 minutes right outside the shop) to get something different, the employees acted as if I was bothering them again. I am not saying that I wanted a free replacement or anything, but some acknowledgement would have made me feel less awkward and like a nuisance.

We went there on Sunday, Feb 19 and had such a bad experience. We ordered a Banana Split Sunday icecream with triple scoop. What we got was three scoops of iceccreams (that was kind of already melted so much). No bananas and it did not look like what we ordered. Instead of apologies, the girl who was working there insulted us and spoke very rudely. We calmly tried to explain them that we were not happy with what we got (not even asking for refund or another icecream as we did not want more sugar in our bodies). She could have simply said sorry but instead she raised her voice and asked us to leave. This is how they treat their customers! Exptremely disappointed with the quality of service, rude staff, and melted icecream.

We stayed at the Royal Sonesta and our family walked here several times throughout our stay! Fabulous ice cream and shaved ice!

I’m not sure how this place gets such great reviews. My wife and I had a shave ice from here on our last day visiting the island for a week. This was the worst place we had shave ice! The ice is thick and the flavors aren’t real like the other locations we went. We also added a scoop of macadamia nut ice cream that tasted like the milk that was used was spoiled! Disgusting! We only had a few bites before throwing most all of it away. We did however, enjoy the atmosphere/ambiance of the place and the girls working were nice.

Skinny Mike's has the best shave ice and ice cream combo! They have a ton of different flavors to choose from, and the portion sizes are generous! It's been years between visits to the island, but I always go back here every visit!

My family emencly enjoyed visiting Skinny Mike's! The Gourmet Hawaiian Ice Cream was extremely delicious. I am a huge Butter Pecan fan and was in heaven eating this there from an equally delicious homemade waffle cone. The nautical theme was loved by all the customers sitting in the boats and we loved taking in the views of Kauai and relaxing with our family from their patio. Fun place!

Best shave ice I found in Hawaii. I got it with ice cream and a snow cap, the "local way". Brownies were also super good and fudgy.

Great place! We found the best shave ice on the island here. Also, they have the most sundae options I've seen with a huge banana split that was delicious! The smell of waffle cones was heavenly. The girls helping us were very friendly and showed our family much Aloha. We will be back!

Coconut cream is a dream. Make sure to get the waffle cones - they’re made in house and are delicious (not too sugary + a perfect dash of cinnamon). Good service and generous servings.

Guy with curly hair and glasses serving at the front was extremely rude while trying to order. I ordered and he told me “it might be a minute before more ice is ready”, after telling him “that’s fine” he sighs and then says “we close in 3 minutes but ok”. Like wuuuuuut sorry I inconvenienced you during business hours.

The staff was great, I loved their stories.

The ice cream wasn't too good. I had the chocolate. It was basically just straight sugar not so rich.
