I would love to. It's only been an hour and a half wait so far so in another couple hours I will be able to tell you how it went.

New company, new strategy. The brand new building we all got used to going to in the Maui Lani mixed use park is now Spectrum's home base for workers only, not customers. If you need to pay your bill, exchange hardware or speak to a live person, you now need to visit this brand new Spectrum Store located at Puunene Shopping Center.

THE STORE:
They've taken up two spaces in the free-standing building across of Petco. Set up like a cell phone store, it's roomy and modern, with a small area showcasing the latest phones and tablets, a kiosk where you can pay bills, an interactive information center and a few customer service booths.

EXPERIENCE:
I popped in to inquire about their new mobile service as I prefer a face-to-face interaction with a local person rather than someone over the phone who probably wouldn't be able to fulfill my "trust" issues. Due to the pandemic and to avoid overcrowding inside, I waited outside to be called in.

A friendly gal greeted me and asked what I was here for. She keyed in my info on a welcome kiosk and was told someone would be with me shortly. Not even a minute later, Ryan was there to assist me. He was awesome! Very knowledgeable (I could tell because I'm pretty tech-savvy when it comes to Apple iPhones and cell plans), honest and friendly. I've been an AT&T customer for over 10 years by now (and Cingular Wireless prior to the buyout) and felt that I've been paying way too much for my single line. I had a super-old, grandfathered-in plan in which texting wasn't even included! I had a couple of things I needed clarification on: 1) Am I able to become a new customer and still be able to upgrade to the latest iPhone in a few months without penalty? Yes. 2) Will Spectrum even have the new iPhone 12? Not sure, but probably. I saw they had on display the current iPhone 11 and was told the most current Samsung products were available to order, so what the hey. Before I knew it, I was agreeing to switching over cell providers!

If you're wondering about savings, here's my breakdown. Total monthly AT&T bill = $89.58. $45 for unlimited data, $39.99 for 450 voice minutes, $10 for 1000 texts, $1.99 administrative fee, $3.26 federal universal charge, $1.20 HI gross excise tax, $2.38 public service surcharge, $1.50 regulatory cost recovery charge, $0.17 state public utility surcharge, $0.43 state telecom relay service surcharge, $0.66 911 service fee and a $17 work discount.

My bill now? $45 flat which includes unlimited data, calls, texts and fees.

SET UP:
Three days later my new SIM card arrived via FedEx. Set up was a breeze with no hiccups. I seem to have a stronger cell signal now. One example being my desk at work. With AT&T, I had 1 bar. Now I have 3!

TIP:
There is a 20 GB data cap that if you go over it, your data speeds will be slowed, similar to other companies.

OVERALL:
No complaints so far. If anything arises, you know I'll do an update!

I changed my mobile service to Spectrum because I was told they use Verizon towers and the cost was $30 less of what I was normally paying AND I thought it would be easier having only one bill for both internet and mobile! Mobile service sucks, majority of the time I have one to NO bars in my house and drop calls all the time! Last week we had 2 days with NO internet service, so decided to call Spectrum and I had 3 dropped calls trying to get through to them. Im DONE with this service provider!

I went to the store to start internet service. I was told the setup at home with the equipment would be easy. I was also told it would be easy to set up the mobile app. Neither of these things were true. I did everything as instructed, per the store employee, and it did not work. I had to call to have my device setup because the system wouldn’t let me create a username. Then after my devices were setup, I still couldn’t create a username and had to call spectrum again. They had to set up a username, password and all of that over the phone. And when I asked why I didn’t have the option to do it myself she had no answer! She said the other option was to go back to the store and have them do it. Seriously? If it wasn’t for the fact that Spectrum has a monopoly on internet services here on Maui, I would go elsewhere. Something this simple shouldn’t have to take so much effort to set up. I gave three stars because this whole process was ridiculous.

If you have a cable line in your home I don't know why you would have any other service besides Spectrum. 55$ amonth gets you home wifi, cellphone service and a new phone. The staff is awesome it's not a long wait like other cellphone companies. I was in and out and happy.

10 people standing around, nobody could tell me what is up with the internet breakdown due to the Maui wildfires, or an idea as to approximate time for restoration, and why they sent an email scheduling a payment without getting any service. They gave me a phone number to call (passing the buck), and with an attitude, Brooke’s me out of the store

**Has Anyone From Spectrum Read This Review? **
I had been an account holder for I don't know, 8 years maybe. Since Oceanic/Time Warner. April 2020 comes along and I need to trim monthly bills. Since becoming an empty nester I realized I don't watch TV at all. And their mobile service looked attractive. Call customer service one evening and ask to eliminate the cable service and keep Wi-Fi. The girl, who answered lucky enough (I thought) was in Hawaii. "She says sure we can do that. This is an old package, we don't even have 69 mps (?). Our slowest now is 220 mps" Hmm And unlimited mobile $45 no hidden fees or taxes? Correct. Cool. I'll get the cheapest Samsung A10 with 5+ star reviews all over YouTube for $10/month. Cut my bills in half! Told all my friends about the mobile deal. Long story short - they never EVER changed my service. Numerous calls. One person left me a message saying that my new cable plan was all set and not to hesitate to call if I ever decide I want to add Wi-Fi. Smh. Or there was a notation saying "customer will call back in one week to confirm changes" not true. I specifically told "Malia" I am positive that I want these changes now.
The kicker though, was my experience with the Flown here not Grown here manager of the Maui Lani store. The phone I got was defective. I gave it a week because I had never had an infinity screen before. So I thought maybe I was being clumsy and needed to get used to it. Called customer service on a Sunday thinking it was the 11th day of a 14 day return period, Nice gal says "actually today is the 13th day, because it starts the day they ship it. Not when you received it but no worries tomorrow is Monday and you can return it then" 2 sweet local girls who have helped me with counter payments for years were looking kinda shame when this boy tried to tell me, in front of the other customers that I was too late. That Monday was the 15th day. I said how do you figure? He explained to me some hopscotch bookend math about the day they ship counting as one, and so forth. I said, no. I even broke it down in to 24 periods - still 14. He wouldn't let me exchange the phone. I said I'm a brand new mobile customer, 8 year cable customer, just told all my friends about my great new mobile service - still no. Finally I said ok if I concede that I'm one-day late, will you concede and honor that the 14th, yesterday, was Sunday and common business practice would be to give grace for that day? No. KMA Spectrum. And that boy needs to check himself. That's not how we do things here kid. You're not in the hardware business. Trust me, your uncle Mortimer in the ivory tower doesn't give a rat's behind about a piece of plastic with a chip in it from China Japan or Korea. Lame bruh. Really lame

Had a crazy storm and thankfully only the internet went down for us in Kahului. Swapped out my old modem for a new one, Spectrum was busy but the wait wasn’t to harsh. The people in there were all awesome at helping me.

The associates are not to knowledgeable in giving the right information about the devices. As such the remote does not program to the TV programming. In other words don’t give information that is not accurate. Don’t beat around the bush, because time is precious.
