Sugar Coast Candy reviews
13I wish I could give this store a zero. They were rude and unfriendly. They didn't welcome my group and me when we walked in and during the time we were in there. They welcomed only the white family (no offense). This white boy was even more petty and disrespectful when I checked out. I don't recommend this place at all. It's not worth it. Thankfully, we will never come back to this racist place
I've been here in the past with friends and had a decent experience, but today just seemed to be a bad day to come. We weren't even acknowledged when we walked into the shop nor were we asked if we needed any assistance in choosing anything. While another tourist/visiting looking family came in and were greeted immediately, we on the other hand were still completely ignored. The workers today seemed to be giving off a racist vibe towards my wife and friends. We definitely will not be coming back. Disappointing.
Cute and small store. That is neat and loaded with old school candy, jelly belly, lollipops with scorpions in them, chocolate turtles, chocolate honey combs and a small frezzer of jones soda and bacon flavored soda lol.
The store is nice, although a bit crowded and cluttered. I’m leaving a negative review because one of the ladies working there was randomly rude to me in front of my daughters for basically no reason. I saw her later behind the counter looking angry while frantically sorting candies. Perhaps she was just having a bad day? The cashier was super nice.
Great selection. Overpriced, even for Hawaii. Millennial cashier can't do basic math.
Wow! This place has so much candy. Word of warning, plan where this candy will be after you buy it. Don't walk all day with it melting or leave it in your car. Chocolate is delectable when solid! The only downside I found is the proce. More than $20 a pound for Chocolate. Quality tho.
So this place is great. Love all the chocolate options and they even held on to a book i left there for weeks.
Loved it! Great selection of taffy but also delicious chocolate and fudge! A must stop for an afternoon treat!
A dentist paradise. You go there and the dentist goes laughing all the way to the bank. But if you have a kid with you, each smile is worth a million. So there you have it.
I like candy, this place has all kinds of candy. Chocolate, taffy, retro, old fashioned. You can get soda pop, and I think water, but it's basically every kind of candy you can think of. Some things I hadn't seen in a long time. You know the term, "like a kid in a candy store "? This is that place!
This is such a great candy store. My wife and I loved filling our bags with treats here. This is a fun stop for children and those who are kids at heart.
I seek out can’t stores every city I travel to and this one was a dream! Not only did it have an enormous selection of candy, it also was displayed in such a cute way. They grouped all like candy together — all licorice in one section, all mint favored candy in another, all sours group together etc.we had so much fun going through and picking our favorites and some new ones we had never seen before. It’s worth a drive to Hilo just for a stop at this candy store. It’s almost all bulk candy, but it’s not cheap (the chocolate candies are $5.25 for 1/4 pound). But still worth a trip!
The owner Janice is very weird don’t apply at this place she only plays favoritetism on certain coworkers at the candy store.
