The Mauna Kea Lū‘au, Waimea HI

Terrible they up sold to premium 20 more a person for first in line and close up seats. The luau was small and everyone had the premium seats yet we were put in the corner. We ended up last in line and they ran out of food. We had the same accomadations as the general seating.i reached out for a credit on the premium price a have not so much as received a call back! They ran out of mai tai's and food.would not recommend its over priced and under deliver. I give one star for the pretty view.

Mauna Kea Luau is a very popular place to see Luau show and have a lavish open air dinner buffet, food is very good and show is entertaining.

Pork was to dry, the fireplace cooked meat was not served (I guess thet put it in freezers for another day)

Unforgettable experience of the sunset at the seaside with excellent Hawaiian traditional food, drinks, and a show that explains the Hawaiian legends and dances to the astonished audience.

The show just didn't do it for me and my seats were terrible. The food was not too good and there wasn't enough of it. Pretty expensive thing to do, I wouldn't recommend it to my friends.

My family had the privilege of enjoying the luau. The story telling was amazing, the dance and fire showmanship was unmatched! The food was good as well. Definitely an amazing experience

The performance was great. Enjoyed the show. Other logistics could be improved.

Being a vegetarian, there were not many options for the main course.

The seating was cramped and the chairs could have been better. Premium seating wasn't worth it except for the priority to take the dinner. I was expecting a separate table for each family but every table had around 12-14 chairs and was tight.

Taking a 5 month old, the stroller had to be lifted to get down to the dinner from the valet parking. A ramp would have been helpful to get there. Tight seating arrangements didn't help much with the stroller. The staff was courteous to get us the end of a table so we could park the stroller.

Like any Lua, it's a like contrived but the atmosphere is excellent as is the food and service. The stetting is unbeatable and the bit of Hawaiian history is informative and only helps one to appreciate the hospitality of the Hawaiian people.

Great food. The show is a bit long and inaccessible for little ones. Beautiful performances, still.

The scenery and the show/ performances were excellent! The food was okay but I'm easy to please in that realm.

I don’t post reviews often, but I thought I should for this one, given the exorbitant price you pay for this mediocre experience. Please please avoid. The “show” portion lasts about 25 min with a 12 minute monologue from the hostess. Overly packed with people, nothing spectacular or exciting. We hyped our kids for a great show and it was truly awful.

The dancers are magnificent. Unfortunately it was very rushed. There is a lot of information and the hostess went through it super fast. No time to enjoy such rich culture. It is a bit touristic feel rather than a cultural experience. The food was ok, not the best we have tried and there was much time wasted on announcements rather than allowing the guests to get their food with plenty of time to sit down and enjoy the full story. Hostess wants people to participate in dancing while eating, which I think was a very bad idea.

I'm surprised by the number of bad reviews. I think the setup, views, service, and performances was exceptional. The food isn't exceptional, but it's not bad. After all, it is a buffet.
