This place and my room was closer to the beach compared to the Kalia Tower at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The Twin Fin is closer to Kalakaua Avenue and the many shopping experience the tourists have. I would come here again.

Very nice double room on fifth floor. Pool and beach view. Small refrigerator. East end of Waikiki near zoo and across the street from Kuhio Beach. Beach towels at lobby on 3rd floor and beach equipment at Beach Candy on first floor facing the beach. Valet parking only.

The Hotel is across the street from the beach. Has car rental and a restaurant in the hotel, shops and other dining are all around. Service was good, the room, smaller than some, but still perfectly adequate, you get what you pay for. Had a Sea/Beach view from the 21st floor, which was excellent.

Million dollar view. Rooms were taken care of daily. Nice staff. Complimentary sunscreen was a nice touch. There were a few hiccups with the elevator. Will definitely stay again.

Fourteen years ago, my son and our daughter-in-law stayed at the Twin Fin (then the Aston) for their honeymoon and had a great time. They wanted to return, so we both booked rooms for our trip. Our room was a partial ocean view on the 22nd floor, and they were upgraded to an ocean view accessible room on the 15th floor to accommodate my daughter-in-law’s disability.
If it wasn’t for the financial challenges caused by mistakes made by hotel staff (that were eventually rectified) causing financial distress to both my son and daughter-in-law & us, I would have considered the stay as great.

Good things:
• Great views & well located at the end of the Waikiki strip by the Honolulu Zoo.
• Clean rooms.
• Pool and gym to get a few workouts, stretch & get the kinks out a bonus.
• Aluminum refillable water bottles in each room with refillable water stations in both the 1st level lobby (street-level) & the 3rd level lobby & in the gym on the 3rd floor.
• Tiki Bar & Grill on 3rd floor with good food & drinks if you do not feel like going out.
• Access to things like paddleboard, chairs, towels & a few other amenities included in the resort fee.
• Some fun events like the Stargazing event included in the resort fee.

What sucked:
Our credit card was charged for non-guest parking & parking on the 1st night we arrived – WE DID NOT HAVE A CAR. We were dropped off by a friend who picked us up from the airport. When I called to report the charge, I was told we would get a text that same day when resolved. We never got the text & learned it was rectified at checkout when I requested a copy of our invoice. It had been deducted from the overall room bill. Better communication & not charging my credit card in the 1st place would have been great!
My son & daughter-in-law were also staying at the Twin Fin in a separate room. At check-in the person who checked them in pressed the wrong button and although they paid for their room at the beginning of their stay, they started getting installment plan charges a bunch of days in a row causing the credit card company to see this as fraudulent and freezing the card. Between the numerous calls to both the Twin Fin & her credit card company, my daughter-in-law’s credit card was frozen until 3 days before our departure – very stressful!

Elevators:
I am not sure that the elevator issue is always the hotel’s fault. Having observed all kinds of behaviours at the elevators, I suspect that a lot of the issues are caused by people who do not know how to use the elevator system, get impatient when the elevator does not come fast enough & keep pressing buttons over and over hoping this will be faster, let alone parents not paying attention to their children who love pressing buttons or the zombie-looking people on their cell phone who miss their elevators and press buttons again and again, which eventually crashes the system & becomes everyone’s problem when we have to hit the stairs or service elevators. Taking the stairs to the 22nd floor sucked.
I think the hotel could reduce the elevator issues by doing a few things like having a roaming employee stationed on the 1st floor and one on the 3rd floor (with good social skills) showing guests how to use the elevator when they see some struggling. The other thing I believe could help is having esthetically pleasing signs with short, clear and concise directions in a few major languages placed on the wall (s) beside the keypads/elevators. The little screen display above the elevator buttons gets lost with everything going on & is only in English & what I suspect is Japanese characters.
My husband and I often took the time to show people how to use the elevators, especially seniors who appeared intimidated by technology & people with limited English. A bit of show and tell with a smile on our faces seemed to go a long way, a thing the hotel could easily do.

The best cost performance hotel in the best location.
Thank you for staying with us for 4 nights.

Immediately after arriving at the airport, go to the hotel.
I arrived earlier than the check-in time, but they kindly accommodated me and I was able to get into the room! Thank you for your help.
The beach is right in front of the hotel.
The hotel was a hitch point for theBUS, trolley, and Uber, so it was convenient to get around.
From the airport, take a limousine bus directly to the hotel and check in. The room was cleaned every 2 days. I haven't cleaned it. It was like changing visible things like sheets and towels.
The facilities in the hotel itself were old and the water pressure was weak. (it can not be helped)
It's not a luxury hotel, so it's best not to expect too much service.

We have stayed here 3 times now and enjoyed it everytime. We like that the parking includes valet and that we don’t have to park ourselves. The rooms are small but clean and they do housekeeping every other day. Also have free use of towels, sunscreen, refillable water bottles, and several other amenities.

We had a good time staying at the Twin Fin. The hotel is dated but in a safe and convenient location. The only issue we had was repeated failures related to the elevators. We stayed for two days and the elevators were out at various times both days. We had to use the staff elevators or the stairs. 19 floors is a long way to walk. Otherwise, as I said, it was a good stay.

Good hotel, clean, pretty. Staff could be more informative on their policies and certain things.
Beautiful views from the balcony

This hotel is in a great location, just steps from the beach. I've stayed here about 3-4 times since 2013, back when it was still Aston Waikiki. They renovated a few years back, and by renovated, I mean, maybe, changed the carpet and added a new coat of paint on the walls. The doors are cracked, and the restroom vanity needed some TLC. Our AC wasn't working either, but it wasn't a huge deal for us. The double full bed room we have stayed in is small, but everything was clean and comfortable. We had an ocean view on the 18th floor and loved sitting out and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Overall, I would stay here again even though the rooms are not as nice as you'd expect for a "multi-million dollar renovation. " The location and free beach rentals make up for the small, worn-out rooms.

We were guests during new Years Eve 2022/23.
I was once guest in this house when it was Aston (back in 2011), so I booked the hotel because of my good experience back then.

However, I was really disapointed with the quality of room service (if you can even call it like that) during our stay. I attached some pictures for reference.
Dust everywhere, broken and dirty shower, dirty balcony.
And to top it all: I told the reception a couple of times that this is a absolute NO GO. However, nothing changed and nothing got cleaned at all.

You also get 2 bottles of water for free refills on various spots around the hotel. HOWEVER, if you leave the empty bottles in your room. Housekeeping will remove them and if you ask for new ones at the reception you will be charged for it. WHAT THE HECK?

I really can not recommend this hotel to anybody except for the really great location.

Location, beds and valet service exceptional! Unaware of additional resort fees until check in. The description of the room being a partial ocean view was deceiving. The room was dated unlike the picture when booking online. Carpets stained. You could hear the neighbor clearly in the other room from the adjoining room door. The elevator was very slow. And awkward to run. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to others.

So I always have bad luck when travelling and at first my experience here was looking down…. First room was dirty, hair, toilet etc…. But Emerson at the front desk got us into a better view and had cleaning manager pre inspect. Then an hour in our shower was leaking into rooms below…. They said they’d fix it in a few hours and it wasn’t so we had to move again. Not the experience you want when some were for a limited time. However Emerson understood, upgraded our room, hooked up breakfast and turned it around. Thankful he helped us on the resort rather than dealing with Expedia as most resorts or hotels would when 3rd party booking. Definitely made it a good experience purely on his customer service. Shoutout to Trinity to for her upbeat attitude at 12 AM when we checked in and her recommendations. Thank you!

Be careful with hidden fees after you check out. Got charged over $400 on hidden fees. Staff was very rude when trying to get an explanation.

Room was really nice. Right across the street from Waikiki Beach close to Waikiki walks, Honolulu zoo, and much more. Quick access to shopping, restaurants, and activities. The hotel had tons of activities like star gazing and pool side activities for the kids. Definitely will stay again.

For the price we paid everything was great. Its like upscale budget hotel. Staff were all very nice, the front desk ladies were very helpful and the house keeping lady greeted us every time with a warm smile and a aloha! We rented a car from avis on the 3rd floor and we picked it up on ground floor from the valet. Very easy well arranged. Good price good car! Hotel is next to the beach which is nice. I'd go here again
