Unfortunately the one star reviews are warranted for this property - not an owner, just a (one-time) visitor. I agree with others regarding the lack of cleanliness, frustrating check-in experience, and overall uncaring attitude of the employees. The internet has been down for 3 days and when we inquired as to when it would be up again we were laughed at and told “we’re on an island. ” Both Westin properties to the right and left of us have internet.

Awful experience from start to finish. Pulled up to valet the car upon arrival and had 4 of the valet attendants stare at me as I unloaded all the luggage; when I was done and almost to the entrance, they THEN asked “oh… did you want help with your bags? ” I have a bad knee so really could’ve used the help before I did all the work myself. Then immediately upon entering the room, we see a cockroach… absolutely disgusting. There was also NO internet OR service the entire time we were here, which is frankly unacceptable when both facilities next door had internet. The internet was down the entire time, making it difficult to plan anything or enjoy your time off. The housekeeping propped our door open and then we found it like that after we’d been gone all day, meaning it was unlocked all day long waiting for someone to come in and take our stuff. We’ve stayed next door at Nanea and had a great experience, so don’t waste your money at this awful hotel. TLDR: Bad customer service, bugs in rooms, no service & internet for days, housekeeping will keep your door unlocked = don’t spend your hard earned money here.

The culture of customer service has gone downhill since Covid times. I have been insulted by employees who owe their salaries to me. Other employees are still gracious. I hope it gets better.

The Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas North was definitely one of my favorite hotels on the island. They had great rooms and pools, which was amazing entertainment for my kids. My whole family really enjoyed the trip and said that The Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas was the best hotel we went to in our 4 week trip.

We're owners and have been here a dozen times. We've never had a bad experience. Skipped one year because of COVID, but booked a week as soon as things were more relaxed. We love it here. If the opportunity arises I would definitely recommend that you give it a try. My only disappointment is that they closed the main restaurant when we were there in September. Check with the resort to see if they've found a replacement tenant. Otherwise, there's the main restaurant at one of the sister resorts or there are plenty of other options close by.

Do not stay at the Westin Ocean Resort, Kaanapali!
Pool is closed till October 31,2022.
You have to walk to the other pool and it is always full. No seating!

Both elevators in a 6 floor ocean front tower are not operating. According to staff, one elevator has been down for > 3 weeks. Seriously. Time share sales on the ground floor. Thanks, Marriott.

The staff was courteous and ready to take care of my family. We've been coming since 2008 and have always received excellent service. My one bedroom premium villa was nice, clean and well equipped.
The beach is a short walk from my room and it's beautiful. It's a wonderful family atmosphere with plenty of pool area and lovely gardens. We can't wait to come back soon.

Just a regular customer, not a time share. Well a regular lifetime platinum elite member, that got a view of the trash compactor, then got moved, then got moved back to a better view of the trash compactor. The Restaurant is closed, there’s always a line at front desk because everyone has an issue. It’s dated interior, unhelpful staff and is where vacations go to die. The hotel is severely understaffed, and no housekeeping; it’s a bad joke of a Westin or hotel for that matter. Trust me, no benefits for Bonvoy, don’t think you’ll be the exception. It’s not worth it, pick somewhere else that doesn’t have any reviews like this, or else when you are there in Maui, filled with gorgeous views all around, YOU will be looking at their glorious dumpster you’ll think back about this specific review and remember that you had been warned. Will never go back.

On arrival 2 days ago our room was beyond dirty. The level of cleaning is so poor. I can’t imagine how long it’s been since this room had a good clean. I’ve been trying for two days to get moved but with no avail. They sent one house keeper to do a full room clean at 7pm. The room is still dirty and I’m beyond embarrassed to keep going to the front desk for help. No manager will talk with me today. When you pay over $1000 a night Canadian it’d be nice to have a decently clean room that’s located in walking distance. We are located over the car parking area and we are unable to go on the lanai due to the amount of bird feces there. I’m unable to post pictures of our so called clean room. It’d be worth a look

We encountered countless mosquitos during our first night.called the front desk, transferred to housekeeping, transferred to engineering.they suggested spraying down our room with pesticides and for us to spend the night in the same room after the deed was done.we requested that they spray the immediate vicinity outdoors.we return after dinner, encounter even more mosquitos.we go to speak with the front desk.it’s 930 they say, there’s nothing to be

Just spent a week at this property with friends for wife’s 40 birthday. We where not greeted by anybody. We had to find some one to help us with our groceries and luggage. While others where being attended to first after arriving after us. Not friendly staff very rude unprofessional concierge. Where falsely accused of being to loud one night at a fire pit and set to our villa by security no warning while other group was warned. I had three villas reserved. Not minority friendly. Worst time at a property and very embarrassing to my friends.and my self. No response from any management.

NOT A RESORT. It's a sad, depressed excuse for hotel. Even the timeshare sales staff seemed really bummed to be there. The Concierge Staff struggled to come up with reasons to buy or even stay there. Monumental waste of time and money.

* we stayed here in a timeshare promotion sales that was paid for prior to Covid. We were just now able to rebook it.
We stayed in the wailea area for 2 days prior to coming to this resort.
The 90 min presentation turned into 2 hours, although Nora was fantastic and I highly recommend her for her personable skills.
I cannot believe Westin puts their name on this resort honestly.
There was no pool service, lines were sometimes extremely long at the pool bar/restaurant because there are only 2 open. There is no actual dining restaurant on site at 3 of their adjoining properties. The elevators are also used by staff so they take forever not to mention they aren’t conveniently located. The resort refused to have people come in to change sheets, they brought bedding up for us to do it instead. The beds are not your standard westin heavenly beds although the pillows were great. The toaster and coffee pot were both broken. They replaced the toaster but the coffee pot we had to rig up just to make a decent pot. The lines for checkout and check in are extremely long with only 1-2 people max working the front and sometimes that’s waiting for them to get off the phone. The pool area is not monitored with bracelets (including slide) so people come right off the beach to use the facilities, etc. The beaches are amazing but chair and umbrella rental are overpriced. There aren’t enough seating at the pool areas and people literally were overflowing to the grass area and lying their towels out. The slide was fun for little ones but needed cleaned- platform wreaked of urine. There is no room service despite them telling us, instead it’s take out.
There are no fresh water stations except the two we saw and one being in the hotel. Not near enough for such a spread out resort area. We liked that you could utilize the 3 pool areas but again with no service and having to watch children at the pool it was too inconvenient. You can’t take alcohol past the resort area onto the boardwalk, even if you’re walking to the other resort. You have to walk between the buildings. A major annoyance as it was much quicker and when you’re wet who wants to walk through the buildings. The rooms are run down, the shower leaked, we had to buy our own TP- it’s horrible, the view was nice for the studio villa partial ocean.
A lot of complaining but if we would’ve paid for this place I would have been more than disappointed. Definitely the worst Westin we’ve stayed at and we’ve been to many.
* snorkeling is fantastic out front of these resorts. We brought the blow up snorkel vests for the kids and our own snorkel stuff. Highly recommend that.

Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful and kind. We especially appreciated Stephanie at the concierge desk. The employees are what made our experience here great!
The facility is beautiful and the location was incredible. However our bed had really deep dips in it and the noise from people in the pirate ship area late at night made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

We've stayed at the Westin ORV North many times (we are timeshare owners there) and absolutely love it. We've never had a bad experience, only delightful ones. We highly recommend the property. Its location, beauty, cleanliness, service, staff, food, pools, views, are all excellent. Everything in Hawaii is expensive, so you can't complain about that. WKORN is so relaxing. We have thoroughly enjoyed returning year after year.

I can't figure out why there are so many negative reviews. The Villas were spacious, well designed, and clean. The pools were great and drink and food prices were typical of a Westin resort. We had a great stay and would visit again!
