TK Noodle House Kona reviews
16This place gets very busy but the food is worth the wait. I had the beef ribs fried rice and crispy whole fish (red snapper), both were great.
TKs is hands down one of the best places to eat in Kona. Way better than anything on Alii drive. Huge portions and always delicious. A great place for Boba. The owner is super nice and always hooks it up!
All the hype was worth it although we didn’t get to order what we wanted. Unfortunately the oxtail kimchi fried rice was sold out so we decided on sharing the furikake chicken and green bean tempura. The portions were big, which made it easy to share. We weren’t disappointed at all, so good.
Service was slower than expected but the food totally made up for it. Some of the best food I’ve had in Kona. This is the Katsu chicken, I don’t experiment much with food so this was a leap for me…but it was fantastic!
Grew up around really good Asian food in LA and SF so I didn’t think I’d find one of my favorite restaurants in Kona. All their noodle soups are to die for, especially if you like spicy food. Their food is more fusion than any one cuisine, unless you order something like papaya salad. Stayed in Kona for a week and went to this place like 5 times. A must-try in my opinion!
The best ramen/soup spot in Kona hands down. You got to try the beef pho. My wife and I did try other things on the menu and everything was delicious.
Although very fresh and the portions were great, the veggie pho left me feeling disappointed. Eating pho all over the world, I've come to appreciate this dish. And veggie pho, seems like something not many places master. The veggie pho broth here was completely void of any palpable pho spices. It was completely bland. Like veggie water. Then, no basil. Bean sprouts already thrown in. No cut jalapeños/chilis. Soggy tofu with no option for frying it? I've had some really good veggie pho, and this one ranks some of the worst. Was hoping for a comforting bowl cause I wasn't feeling great. I gave 2 stars for freshness and good presentation effort. But would never order that again, tasteless. I think the owners are not Vietnamese. Place was quaint and non-pretentious. Slight language barrier with man at register, because specific requests for our food ordered was not honored. This isn't the first time basil or beansprouts were missing from this places pho. Lacking consistency. I understand there may be ingredient shortages on the island, but basil can be easily grown in Kona, Hawaii. No reason why good pho can't be found in Kona! Somebody grow some basil.lol!
Pho 4/5 To much bean sprouts and so little meat. Also the amount of noodles and soup was not that much. Soup was delicious and very aromatic.
Pad Thai 4/5 Chicken was kind of hard. Sauce was pretty good though.
Kimchi Fried Rice 5/5 Great flavor and presentation!
Halo Halo Boba 3.5/5 To much jelly and the drink itself was too sweet but the ice cream was decent
Food was awesome, we had the beef pho, shrimp tempura ramen & orange chicken. Yummy & so quick.
Fantastic! I tried the ribeye pho and ribs fried rice and they were both amazing! The milk tea was also very good. Staff is great too! Easy 5 stars.
We were looking for a new place to eat in Kona; we found a great one here. Within walking distance, plenty of seating, prompt service. The meals arrived within 7minutes of ordering (faster than McD's) fresh and made to order. The salad rolls were delicious and a work of art, the pork belly was more than I could eat, meaty and cooked to perfection. You can tell the staff take pride in their work.
Absolutely phenomenal. Just a heads up that this place is BUSY and incredibly understaffed. Run by a couple with their adorable son usually waiting by the register. If you have to wait while a table is cleared or other orders are being taken, be patient. The food comes out FAST and the owners are absolutely the nicest people you will ever meet. How they can be so kind and helpful when they’re so overrun is beyond me, honestly.
Anyways, the food. It’s just as good as the service. Anything with ox tail or beef rib will hit the spot. Honestly, just about any of the noodle dishes will. Went back three times in a week and was never disappointed.
We heard some amazing things about this place by several people and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and affordable! The owner was so down to earth and friendly! We would recommend anyone in the area to try TK Noodle House!
Really good food… but probably typical of Thai, rather than Vietnamese. Still, had beef ribs that you don’t typically find in other places. Maybe a little heavy-handed with the MSG, pricey and short-staffed, but good meal nonetheless.
I have had Pho before but not like this. This was an experience that I can’t wait to have again. Oxtail Pho was hands down the best dish that I wanted to savor till the last bite. Absolutely amazing. I only wish I found it at the beginning of my trip to have it a few more times.
Keep coming back here. The flavors If you're craving some yummy Asian food on the Big Island, TK Noodle House Kona is a must-try! Their menu is packed with delicious options and the noodles are super super tasty. Fun visual display too with the food. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the vibe is cozy and casual. I highly recommend the pho and the chicken katsu, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable, making it a great spot for a tasty and affordable meal. Go and check it out sometime. It’s tucked a little inland from the ocean!
