This review is specifically for the ENT department. Their staff were incredibly caring, knowledgeable, and saw that my condition was effectively treated from start to finish. I'm so glad that I came to them for help and can't recommend them enough.

I was born there on October 1,1976.
I was born with severe hershspruns disease and nearly died.
I'm now 47 years old, happily married and have a beautiful 17 yr old daughter and 2 beautiful kitty daughters and I can't spell hershsprungs disease.lol.

How the hell could I possibly give anything less than 5 stars! I'm alive and happy because of that place.

I went in and was in pretty bad shape and as usual medical staff was pretty busy it kinda sucked but I have 0 complaints they was 2 gentleman crockett and dean and the guy doing my labs can’t remember his name but these guys went above and beyond I do plan on meeting up with them and buying them dinner or something they took pride in what they did and I could type all day expressing my gratitude but I’ll just say if these guys could get an award it would be ashamed if they wasn’t recognized for the extra mile they went I hope I never go back but if I do I hope I’m in there care

Everyone I know who has went to tripler absolutely hated it. This is probably one of the worst hospitals in the nation. If you can avoid coming here, do it at all costs.

I went in for a c-section in 2003.1. When I went in my medical records were on the counter. Anyone could have grabbed it.
2. The nurse dropped the needle and than used that same needle on me. (I did report this to the hospital)
3. We were not allowed to use cameras or video
4. My husband was not allowed to see beyond the sheet
5. I told the Doctor that I didn't want staples. I had 33 staples and about 1/2 inch opened gap. It took 9 weeks for the gap to close.
6. I told her and showed her medical record to show that I was allergic to surgical tape. I was taped from hip to hip. When the tape came off, It took some off my skin off too.
7. I have had so many abdominal issues since the c-section. Such as gallbladder and fibroids. I can't confirm or say for certain that the c-section was the blame.

This was my 3rd c-section. I did not experience any of this with the previous two.

Shouldn’t have to drive all the way to Tripler to handle over the phone business because you all won’t answer the phone.

Absolutely the worst military healthcare experience I have ever had. TDY to Hawaii not like I have options and wait over 6 hrs to just finally get talked to by a healthcare provider in the urgent care. There’s no way this is the standard of excellence in healthcare. DHA long term strategy is modernizing facilities and we cannot get a real time wait time for people? I’d rather pay out of pocket than utilize this facility. Got told there is only one provider… that’s a TAMC problem that impacts patients. You can’t bring providers who are not doing anything in the Hospital to come down and assist? I feel like there is some mismanagement happening. If you cannot meet capacity then refer people somewhere else instead of just stringing them along for hours…. But then that impacts leakage and RVUs which affects the bottom-line…

Been admitted for 8 days and since I need help to get out of bed. I need to call a nurse and it takes hours for them to come. So you can literally pee on the bed and still wait. Oh but you they say they are busy. When you hear them laughing in the hallway.

It takes months to get appointments. When you get them doctors brush off your issue. The staff usually treats service members like mindless cattle they don’t have to truly show any care or sympathy for. They don’t update, call, provide accurate results, or keep track of things. It’s so lackluster and “I don’t have to be better than this” attitude towards the masses of patients. For the medical field to be ultimately about care and health of people it falls miles and centuries short. And the saddest part nothing will change, because Tripler can be backed by the excuse of everything that happens here. “This is an island so this is the best we can do. ” I disagree and I resent you for your service and disregard to the troops.

The EFMP office is truly the worst I have been having such a horrible time trying to get scheduled just to get a screening for my family. It took 2 months for my family to be seen. After all that time they are now requesting me to Enroll my one of my family members. That would have been great to know two and half months ago. No I’m coming up on my reporting date which they seem not to even care about. EFMP is literally separating me and my family and is seriously how annoying no one ever answers the phone. What’s the point of a phone number if you can’t even answer it.

Staff and doctors are inconsiderate and unprofessional, other people were seen before me and had the same problem and I arrived first, when I was about to leave the doctor told me he “had people wait longer and that I can do what I want then said you can stand there and think about it I’ll go see someone else” hard to sit in pain while listening to doctors and staff talk about a Christmas party Id rather pay for an in town hospital

I've never been more frustrated than trying to schedule my MRI appointment with Tripler Radiology. They make it impossible to contact them, and I've tried for over 3 weeks to contact them both in person and over the phone. Sometimes they do answer, and then immediately hang up. If you chose to wait in person, it will be over a hour.

Today, I missed my appointment call by 1min, and she did not provide a callback number. Apparently they close at 3: 30pm, but left an hour early today for the holiday weekend. When someone finally answered at 3pm, 5min after I missed the call, I heard the scheduler asked what the call was for and then they told me "nope, it's the weekend, try again next week! "

Military medical is atrocious. Service members deserve better!

The emergency room wait time to get seen is ridiculous! It never fails when we come here, everyone waits for more than hours to get seen. Just go to Kaiser hospital instead

I had to have my daughter at this hospital and it was a nightmare. Was told to walk the halls until I almost had her on the floor. Then was told the noise I was making was unnecessary, I was giving birth not attending a party. Afterwards I was wheeled into recover? And told to take a shower. Then they gave me a room number and directions to walk to my room all this was within 30 minutes after giving birth. Was treated like a dog the whole experience. Still have nightmare about it.

Pain a 10, cant walk because my legs are completely numb, was waiting for 5 hours and went to a civilian hospital cuz nobody helped me besides taking my vitals, they were calling officers left and right that looked just fine, its good to know yall care about everybody like yall care for officers.

I am embarrassed and insulted that I have to be seen here. Every SINGLE time you go to the ER it’s a minimum of a 5 hour wait to be seen. You WILL waste your whole day here. It doesn’t matter if the 30 year old man in front of you stubbed there too, or if you’re missing an arm. They see whoever gets there first. Disgusting facility, outdated, staff customer service is sub-par, but most of all the wait time is disgusting and disrespectful not only to our service members but more importantly their family and spouses.

Tripler is a teaching hospital. It’s the only military hospital on the island so as you can imagine it’s always crowded. The wait times are ridiculous and sometimes the staff is not very professional, which is really odd, considering they are a military organization. I try to use the V. A. As mush as possible but they honestly are not much better. Pay the money, use toe insurance and get the quality health care that you and your family deserve. Aloha

Just over a year ago I was involved in a car accident, I have been fighting with Tripler for over a year to get adequate care for a back injury sustained. I finally had an mri one year later, but the doctor inputted the scans as my lumbar instead of thoracic where it’s actually hurting me. I have been living with chronic pain for over a year with referral after referral for the wrong treatments. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from “Crippler”

I dislocated my shoulder so I went there for an MRI that took weeks to schedule. I put on scrubs before going into the MRI room they provided and they had many blood stains on them. After that I got the MRI and they never sent me my results…It’s been 2 years and I’m still waiting…
