United States Postal Service reviews
18I Have been having issues with my package being delivered to the wrong address and funny as it is. I don't live near Hawaii, I'm in a whole other timezone in the main 48 states. It would also seem they are in support of the scam going on. I have order confirmation, and tracking information for a package that was to be shipped to the state of Wisconsin. It would only be logical that someone is in on this scam and don't care about robbing people of their innocence.
Consistant 45 minute wait for counter service including shipping or receiving packages.
Changed my address 3 times in 2 years without notice by adding or subtracting rural route numbers.
Fails consistantly at forwarded mail as I live in 2 states.
Standing in line you will have the pleasure of conversations with:
west coast burn outs,
passive aggressive ex hippies instigating revolution,
nosey people that smell like wet dog and dirty hair,
rage filled elderly,
paranoid survivalist & militant preppers,
and the typical transplant who talks loudly about politics, spirituality and …being all about the community
Trash. People with attitudes on both sides. Customers complaining when they don't label their mail BEFORE getting here is absolutely ridiculous. Then we all have to stand here and wait for you to learn how to adult. This place is small. Packages get lost or sent back all the time. The line for several days in a row lately has been FOUR hours long. It's absurd. Now I'm standing here at 3pm crossing my fingers they don't lock the door in my face at 4pm.
I love my peoples at the pahōa PO.
They all know me by name and are friendly and awesome.
4 stars only because of things outside of their control. Yes, the space is too small, same as it has been for 50 years before all the complaining reviewers moved here because it is awesome. And yes, they are understaffed, but thank Trump for that one.
You can always count on the u.s. Postal it's Easy to judge someone as unfriendly. Don't forget it's a two way for all.
You stand in line for sometimes over an hour because they only have one Teller! I had to address and tape my small box when I got to the teller because there were not any pens out for people to use. I spent 3x the amount of time at the Teller because there are hardly any supplies in front be organized before getting there!
Hour long line every single time. They really need more help. Also they quit mailing to our home address because somebody was breaking into our boxes. So we have to pick all our mail up at the post office. And they are really mean to us every time we are up there.
First, let me say I agree that the Pahoa Post Office is small, cluttered, and busy; parking is an issue; and it would be great if the hours were extended to help the working class vs the retired. And yes, the line is ridiculous.
That said, let's take a moment to appreciate the Postal Workers. To start with, they have no voice when it comes to the size of the Post Office, it's parking, and the hours it's open. I'm sure if they could get extra help they would.of course extra help means even less customer parking (think about it).
Many reviews mention poor customer service, poor attitudes, and rudeness. Let's think about this for a moment, these Postal Workers work in an environment that is too small for the volume of mail and packages they receive. They have to deal with you (collectively us) on a daily basis, are you rude? How's your attitude when speaking to them? You deal with them once and you leave, they have to deal with you ALL DAY LONG (again, collectively us). I doubt they wake up in the morning excited about going to work (and dealing with you). If the Postal Worker is short with you, most likely there is something (in there life) to have caused it. Maybe it has nothing to do with you, then again, maybe it does. Are you ever in a bad mood and have it show in your actions, actions toward someone who didn't cause your mood and doesn't deserve your wrath; like the mood your in after standing in line at the Post Office for what seems like forever?
It's better to be compassionate, a smile goes a long way, it may not be visible under your mask but it is 'visible' in your voice and tone. Our Postal Workers work hard and are diligent, let's show them the respect the deserve, let's show them Aloha.
Again missing mail and packages. Every time we make a claim and complaint but no one knows anything about previous complaints or missing items. Email service says it was signed for.no one has delivered us anything. Again!
Please OPEN this location earlier. 8: 30am like in Kea’au. I think it will help alleviate lines!
I been to alot of usps and not all of them are bad, but pahoa is poorest post office dont do their job, lazy.they dont deliver and make excuses about your address not being registered in their system, when its been certified and stamped by both government and commercial entities.
Whoever brings the mail to the ainaloa mail boxes are messing up big time. They are giving the wrong packages to people. I have already received three times the wrong package addressed to someone else. I’m now missing four packages and still no help from the pahoa post office I called and they pick up I heard laughing in the back and was completely hung up on no hello no nothing. Now their lines are busy as always. I understand working with mail and they don’t get a thank you but messing up peoples mail that they been waiting for and giving it to someone else and not looking closely at the actual mailing address is pretty messed up.
Why they never make the pick up place is different and the sendding place so it's a convenient for every body
Wish I could give a better review but I can't. Long lines, misplacing held packages and zero improvements. I feel for the ladies working.
It is impossible to pick up mail. I have been in line for 35 minutes and have only moved 5 spaces. There's so many people in line. There needs to be some type of express lane or pick up line because this is ridiculous.
This is one of the most dysfunctional businesses I have ever had to deal with. It also makes me pay unnecessary bills that I should not have to pay like box rent, gas for the car to check my mail. They deliver mail to my neighborhood but to only a few that are special, I'm not one of them. The wait in line is unreal. I spend many hours a month waiting in line for service. This place is a nightmare.
This post office is 10 times too small and 10 times understaffed for the population that it serves. Only 1 to 2 people helping people is not enough, takes at least an hour to get through the line and the hours should also be modified to allow people who don't work nearby to get there before closing.
