7It was an absolute pleasure working with the Upright team, they were nothing but professional and helpful. I had them install a gate on my property I just bought to keep my dog in. I couldn’t be more happy with the final product and I cannot recommend them enough. Shout out to Logan and Trey for the quick and professional installation
If you are looking for a great fencing installer, consider Upright Fencing Hawaii! Great and friendly service, excellent communication with the customer, and the installation service was spot-on. We have a beautiful, aluminum boundary fence now.
As a homeowner, I am always looking for a good deal, that comes with quality work. Upright fencing went over and beyond to satisfy our questions, our concerns, and helping us feel at ease. From the time Stephanie (hope I spelled it right) came to give our estimate, till Don and crew came to do and complete the job, they were professional, going beyond the scope of work. Our neighbors were impressed with there quality of work and being courteous as well!

Bottom line: I wish I could have given my money and time to a more responsible company. Upright finished the contracted work, but not before tarnishing their brand. I have additional fencing that needs to be done, but I will find another company.
Details: the estimate and contract process was good. Estimator showed up on time and an estimate was in my inbox within 1 week. Upright attempted to match another quoted estimate and got pretty close. I decided to give them my business because they were responsive and offered a veteran discount.
I paid the initial balance on 6/27 and got on the schedule for install on 7/24 - about 1 month out. The office manager cautioned that unforeseen issues could potentially push our schedule out.
Upright recommended someone be at home on the first day of install. On the day of install (7/24), I was expecting the team to arrive between 7-8 am. By 8: 15, I called the office twice to ask for an update. No answer. Second attempt I left a voicemail. By 8: 30, I received an email (no phone call) telling me they were not going to make it. I immediately called the office, no answer. Left a voicemail, followed up with an email. By 3: 00 pm, I still had not been called or emailed back. Called the office again, no answer.
Before 5: 00 pm, the office manager contacted me to apologize and setup another appointment. She explained they were short staffed, which is understandable. However, I told her the phone tag and lack of a phone call were unprofessional. She mentioned she knew the week BEFORE that our job would be postponed due to staffing issues, but forgot to notify us. She took $40 off my bill for my troubles (1% off). I was on the schedule for the following week (7/31) between 7: 30 and 8: 30.
By 8: 45 on 7/31, no show/no call. Called the office twice, no answer. Left voicemail. By 09: 20, I called a third time and the office manager answered. Explained the situation and was asked if a number from the mainland had called me. They didn't and she explained her installed should have called me because his wife had a baby over the weekend and couldn't make it. In the excitement of having a new child born, Upright expected their employee to call a customer to reschedule. Yikes.
Office advised another team would show up between 11-12 same day. I asked for a courtesy call when they were enroute, so I could be prepared. By 1145, they showed up. No call beforehand.
The young man was courteous and walked me through the job. He explained his manager was enroute to assist. I left my home to let him work. When I returned later, his manager was onsite and was anything but friendly. Hardly even got a look from him. They put the posts in and left. The young man told me he would return in the coming days to fabricate the gates.
After two days of no contact, I emailed the office asking for a date of final install. They finished my job on day +3 after initial post install, tho communication could have been better. The gates are installed and function, but the installer left behind a lot of scratches on the vinyl and the gates dirty. At this point we were happy to have them finished.
Maybe we hired this company during a difficult time, since their reviews were stellar. But the lack of communication was the nail in the coffin. We are reasonable customers that understand staffing issues. But a company that doesn't communicate is one that doesn't deserve my patronage. For anyone that will listen, I will forever dismiss Upright Fencing.
