Very popular local ramen spot! Would recommend going early as they tend to get very busy! You can also check in ahead of time online.

They have a variety of appetizers and would definitely recommend their chicken karage, potato mochi, and corn tempura.

You can customize the ramens based on noodle, saltiness, and firmness of noodle in addition to adding additional toppings. Not as much of a selection for dessert but I have been wanting to try their coffee jelly.

Garlic and tantan short rib were both delicious! We also really enjoyed the karaage chicken.

Wagaya is one of the best authentic Japanese ramen joints in Oahu. Tan Tan Ramen is one of the best I had and good depth of flavor the sesame flavor gives it more kick.
Gyodashi shoyu ramen was good as well and the gyoza is good. I like the sauce that it comes with. This place had great review status online and authentic Japanese owner from the rising sun. Noodles were al dente and seems made fresh. If noodles are over cooked or can ruin the whole meal texture is important.
Overall enjoyed the food here and will be a regular patron.

The ramen was amazing, both warabi mochi ice cream and the almond tofu pudding were great!

Best ramen I've ever had. The lines are well worth the wait, and I can understand why they're always out the door.

Perfect lunch spot. But come early because the place is always crowded because they only open from 11: 00am till 1: 30pm for lunch.

This restaurant has made my husband seriously thinking of moving here to Hawaii. Truly authentic ramen. He’s half Japanese & grew up in Japan. The only place he’s found outside of Japan that tastes like home. Now I understand why he’s so picky with ramen, and I know I won’t be able to go back to the “ramen” shops back home. The staff is so sweet, and my husband was just so happy to speak his native tough again in there too.

My friend is a regular at this place, even the workers know him, so occasionally we get dragged along. I love the place, but I can't handle 2-3 times a week at any restaurant like him. But it's worth promoting as it's one of the best ramen joints in town. Our usual is the garlic version of the ramen (noodles in broth) or the tsukemen (separate noodles and broth). In my photos are of them - the red one being level 5 spicy which only that friend can handle (I can handle level 4, but then it would be detractive of the taste). The level of customization for the ramen dishes is unreal - noodle size, firmness, spicy level, salt level of the broth, to the myriad of meat and vegetable add-ons, etc. So the price is fine in the beginning, until your eyes get too greedy. Opens at 11: 30am, but people quickly start packing in where if you arrive near 12 you have to wait in queue. Parking has only about 5 dedicated stalls, but luckily street parking isn't difficult at that part of the street. Recommended, but if you see some lonely guy hogging a whole table to himself, don't mind him, that's probably my friend.

Off.
The.
HOOK!
This is tonkatsu ramen at its finest. Wagaya makes Ramen the way it should be made, does not add MSG, but instead cooks the bones down for 2 days to achieve the kind of flavor that will make your taste buds go into overdrive!
It is "Broke Da" mouth onolicious
I have never had better ramen.

You can choose the thickness of your noodles as well as the different tonkatsu broth. The garlic wagaya ramen is incredible and definitely my favorite! The karaage chicken is also spectacular!

The service is incredible. My wife and I have come for lunch (and they have terrific lunch specials that are very affordable), and also at dinner time. We've had terrific service every single time. They have an app that allows you to check in so that when you're on your way, you are also waiting for your table!

There's plenty of parking in the lot, though if you come in the evening you might have to take some street parking.

TLDR; Epic ramen! Amazing flavors! Everything is delicious!
You'll be annoyed with yourself that you waited so long to come and try it!
Yes it's THAT good!

To ensure a seamless dining experience, it's strongly advisable to make a reservation in advance, especially if you'd like to avoid a potentially lengthy wait outside, given the remarkable popularity of this establishment.

One standout feature we particularly enjoyed is their commitment to customization. You have the freedom to tailor your ramen precisely to your liking, from the firmness and thickness of the noodles to the serving size, and even the flavoring and spiciness levels of the soup. This level of personalization adds an extra layer of satisfaction to your meal.

Our culinary journey here was nothing short of delightful. The Garlic Wagaya Ramen left a lasting impression with its rich, garlicky notes, while the potato mochi provided a unique and satisfying contrast. These culinary highlights made our visit truly memorable.

We ordered the tsukemen and the garlic wagaya ramen when we visited. The soup base was on point and really solid, not like any butter creamy stuff we normally get in Americanized ramen joint. Especially we love their garlicky flavors! Will definitely comeback to this place to taste again.

Seen this place on social media and decided to try it out. Ramen was mediocre at best for the price I could go elsewhere. Broth lacked distinct flavor and the portion size was a bit lacking for the price. Seating was too crowded and service was OK not bad, not great. Bathroom could use some better upkeep/cleaning.

This was my sixth visit. The garlic ramen was as good as usual. I ordered tsukemen garlic but it wasn’t my thing.

I enjoyed the ramen here. The dashi was perfect! Beef tongue was tender and tasty. Can’t wait to go back. Parking is tricky but worth it!

Busy Place. Very loud like a cafeteria. Had the Sparerib Tan Tan Men with regular noodles. Rich Spicy Flavorarable Sesame broth.delicious. Noodles. The Sparerib was very soft with lots of flavor. Noodle were cooked perfectly aldente. Had Gyoza appetizers but unfortunately while tasty the outside had a strong cast iron char and taste. You will need to put your name on the wait list if you are not there when they open. There is a wait. Overall good experience and I will be coming back.

A small Authentic Japanese ramen place. Supposedly, the owner went to Japan and perfected the menu there. It’s ok, once was enough. A little bit on the pricey side for what you get.

The fried corn was unique and delicious, I would get it~ ramen was good but not exceptional, the noodles stuck together.

Went with friends and ordered the potato mochi, salad, and a fried tofu dish for appetizers. All were delicious, especially the potato mochi is a must try. We're still talking about it all week later. For my main dish I ordered the vegetarian ramen at lvl 3 spice. Spicy, with such a depth of flavor. A deeply comforting meal.
