Waikapu On 30 reviews
16This is the one place I would visit again in Maui. It's as authentic as it can get and it's what I expect when I eat at an island far away from the mainland. Their pork lau lau is definitely one of the best one I've had, and I used to work at a Hawaiian restaurant.
They give a lot of food for what you buy! If you want to eat at the picnic tables that are right outside, it IS very windy though. The place isn't very wheel chair friendly though at all. Food was fine, typical. Yummy. The salad was missing an item though.
I liked the food (not many vegetarian options but I didn't expect there to be many) : the lomi lomi salmon was refreshing and fresh; the Mac salad was flavorful and tender; rice was.rice. The haupia and sweet potato dessert was really good too My main issue was that *everything* was in (non-compostable) plastic: from the forks (that I refused twice because I have my own set) to the main dish container to the dessert clamshell. When I asked, the friendly woman behind the counter told me that the dishes were made from corn plastic. But a quick look on the bottom shows Plastic #5 - polypropylene. I see photos in year-old reviews that show paper containers, so I'm wondering why they switched. This was the only place I visited while on island that used non-paper, non-compostable plastic.
As always, delicious wood fire cooked Kalbi and bbq chicken plate lunch with rice, corn and kimchee! Beautiful scene eating at the picnic tables.
Excellent Aloha Friday!
I came across this place when I went zipline and the guy recommended it, he wasn’t wrong I’m in loved with the pork Laulau amazing!
Sadly we discovered this little jewel on our last day on the island. Their prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. We tried the traditional loco moco. It was delicious and the meat portion was almost a half a beef! We ate on the tables provided and enjoyed the view of planes coming into the airport. Such a peaceful setting. If we return to Maui, this place will be on our list of places to eat.
Best choice for lunch before we left Maui. It was on our way to the airport. We ordered a chili moco bowl and pork lau lau plate - both were huge portion! Pork lau lau was tender and chili was flavourful. Love them!
Locals from the zip line company recommended this place to us, and in 9 days on the island this is the only place my family begged me to go back to for more food. Very good, very tasty, very filling!
Great local food, Great service, and Great people! Recommended for all. Locals and tourist!
I love their Wednesday and Friday specials! On Wednesday they have the roast pork and on Fridays they have the BBQ Kalbi Ribs and BBQ chicken. You can smell the aroma of the Kiawe BBQ every Friday and it always draws me in that I have to make a stop and buy.
They have the best prices on the island for plate lunches and mini sized plate lunches as well (half the size of a regular). And it’s worth the drive for the quality, aloha spirit and value.
Great spot for consistently good eats. Love the shoyu plate and the bbq plate. Food is prepped quick and staff is very chill. Always a great pick me up when I can stop here.

Got the Moco Loco bowl and Pork Lau Lau plate and both were delicious! They had some BBQ specials which equally looked amazing.
Such a delicious delight. Stopped by here for our last lunch in town. Wish we had found you sooner! Had saimin which was delicious, chow fun which had a ton of flavor but was a little greasy for our liking, and some of the best shoyu chicken I've ever had. Also we're lucky to grab a pint of their homemade poi. We'll be enjoying that over the next couple days YUM! Finished off with haupia ube pie.
Will definitely be back next time we're on the island!
Cycled the full West Maui loop, these guys saved me with a killer bowl of saimin and some spam masubi. Great roadside casual stop with great food. Love it! They’re so nice here too!
As residents on Kihei, we make it a point to get out and support our local community. Waikapu on 30 is one of our faves. Great local company and amazing food. We are working our way through their menu. The Chili Moco and the Saimin are just a few of the ono grinds we love here. Please check them out.
