UPDATE: THIS MARRIOTT RUINED MY HONEYMOON! I'm still upset about how poor our stay was and how terrible the hotel management was. We tried to make the best of it but it really ruined our entire time on the island. We spent more time arguing with the hotel management than being able to celebrate and enjoy our honeymoon. It keeps making me cry. I will never get a do over for my honeymoon and had I known before, I would have never, ever chosen to stay at this location. Clearly it is for families with young screaming babies and children and not for adults on a honeymoon and trying to relax. Prior: Came here for our honeymoon and we are still here. I'm really disappointed and upset with our stay. First room we were assigned, a baby screamed for an hour and a half each morning and due to the poor insulation in the doors between rooms, it sounded like it was in our room. After arguing with the front desk twice, they finally moved us by downgrading our room to a lower floor than what we paid for.then the new room had a toddler next door that screamed at 4am and started again at 6am.we are on day 3 of this and I have yet to even be able to get any sleep on my honeymoon. Rooms are fine, hotel is nice but be prepared for the noise. Other reviews mention it but I really did not think we would have non stop screaming kids for our entire stay. They don't enforce Adult pool either so lots of young teenagers in the hot tub and adult pool.

Korey and Walter put on a nice show with the Mai Tai class.as a Marriott ambassador I appreciate the little details and this was a nice one.

Not what I thought my first experience at Honolulu would be like.first off front desk service was a disaster when my mom couldn’t get into her room without my dad being present when we had the confirmation number at hand and credit card company on the phone. Never got our money back for the room that we paid for. 2nd when we got into our room the bathroom was cleaned in a rush manner there was left over toothpaste and smudges over the counters and mirrors. Rooms are nothing special. 3rd they overcharge on fees. 50 dollars a day on top of what you had already paid for activities that we didn’t even need or use. Along with small minuscule tax fees for every night. I would not come back to this hotel because of above reasons. The hotel is also not on the beach you have walk to get to the beach. Not what I expected from my first “welcoming to Hawaii”

We started our Honolulu vacation in a low, end hotel near the convention center because we were with a sports team. The last few days we decided to move to the beach and that is where I met Anna Abe who is a front desk agent at the Marriott.she truly changed our whole vacation. She just brought us into this beautiful hotel and made sure we had a beautiful room and helped me celebrate my daughter 17th birthday. She went above and beyond —-I have never had a hotel employee take care of me the way Ana did. We had a wonderful three nights at the Marriott and can’t wait to come back! And the location was amazing right on Waikiki Beach. Rooms are large and comfortable beds. Stunning ocean views. Great pools and amazing hot tubs and tons of restaurants and everyone we tried was delicious! The staff at the pool was very friendly. We also had a front desk agent named dave that took extra time helping me before I booked the room. And had the sweetest Bellman I’ve ever had in the hotel! What a great stay!

It has been completely renovated and the pool is now in great shape.
I think the most appealing thing about this hotel is the impressive view of Diamond Head up close as you lie on the bed in your guest room.

We celebrated our anniversary and the hospitality during our stay was good, but there is one thing...

I left something in the room when I checked out, and when I called them, they told me that they had kept it for me.
Since I was still in Waikiki, I went to pick it up that evening.
All the branded and expensive items were safe (partly because I was in a hurry), so I signed for the receipt without realizing it at the time.
When I calmly checked on my destination hotel, I found that my earrings, ear cuffs, and ring were missing.
All three items are inexpensive, but I liked them so I was very disappointed.
The easy-going Japanese man didn't know about this and just politely thanked him and went home.

If you steal brand-name or expensive items, you might get in trouble with the police, but I felt that if they only stole items that were like, ``I can't help it, '' they must be habitual and intelligent criminals.

I liked the location, but I don't feel refreshed, so I won't be using it again.
There are many other wonderful hotels in Waikiki!
And make sure you never forget anything again!

I’m so happy we found this centrally located spot to spend our last days in Hawaii. I spent most of my time on the pool deck and enjoy a beautiful sunset from my cabana. Rainbow made sure I was well taken care of into the night (which is already a rare chance we found a hotel pool open past 6pm!).

The hotel room was really clean, and spacious. The location was great, super close to the beach and the heart of Waikiki. They have daily activities which were really fun and complimentary (covered by the resort fee). Highly recommend and will be back!

Good hotel in Waikiki. Pricy. Loud environment. Could not leave window open during nights due to traffic noise. Rooms OK, double beds rather small. Room service quality very tip-dependent.

The location was great, the rooms were dated and truly aging. The location and team made up for most of the short comings of the stay. Worth the stay if you're primarily planning on sleeping and having a good view of the ocean then leaving for adventures outdoors.

In the 13 years we have been together, my husband and I finally went on our first trip ever without kids! It’s also our bday weekend so it was extra special that we flew off island. We are from Maui and we wanted to make the best out of our 3 day trip. Meleana T.at the front desk was awesome! She found us a corner ocean view room that was just perfect! It brought me to tears to see the view. Amazing service! Everyone shows so much aloha! Mahalo nui Meleana and Marriot Waikiki staff for making our short staycation a memorable one! With Aloha, 'Ohana Carter

Perfect place to go as everything is in easy walking distance. Only issue is that they were having some fixes and replacing of the outdoor parking lot so was a bit loud sometimes. The elevator in the parking garage was also out on the first night so had to lug myself down the stairs

Otherwise the whole team was very helpful. We ate at two of the restaurants in the hotel and they were perfect for us to stay at since we were in town for the marathon.

We had a wonderful experience at the kids pool with the help of a pool attendant named Rainbow. She was so informative and helpful, and we very much appreciated her excellent service.

Convenient as it is close to Waikiki Beach and shopping is within walking or biki range.

If you have a front ocean view, you can see a view similar to Waikiki.

This time I stayed using Marriott Bonvoy points, but there is a separate resort fee of $50 + tax per night. (Various resort services shown in the photo are available)

Hotel amenities are not as plentiful as in Japan, so you will need to bring your own toothbrushes, etc.

The first time the room was cleaned, glasses were left in use and not cleaned up, and coffee etc.were not replenished. The second time it was cleaned without a hitch.

There is no water, but there is a free water service on the first floor, so if you have a container you can refill it.

Breakfast was free for platinum elites at Kuhio beach grill, but the hot food selection in the photo costs an additional $17 per person. Personally, I think it would have been better to earn points for elite benefits, eat breakfast for a fee once, and then try eating at various other hotels.

Breakfast is a typical breakfast buffet, with no local foods such as loco moco or acai.
The chef at the live omelet station is friendly and allows you to order delicious omelets and fried eggs.

There is a rental car, Enterprise, on the first floor, and if you sign a contract during business hours, all you have to do is park at the hotel's designated parking lot on the same day and return it to the key box, which is very convenient.

There are jeeps and convertibles.

Although it is in English, it is easy to make reservations online.

The overall review of the hotel is very good.

Initially my wife and I were pretty happy with the hotel when we checked in. Some things definitely changed that. Housekeeping was a let down, but we keep pretty clean so it was a minor issue. They didn't take our trash, which was consolidated and easily removable. They also did not wipe down the counter top in our room. Again, this was a minor hiccup. But also? Some rando's underwear somehow winding up by our balcony, along with trash out on it that wasn't ours was really gross. It made us not use our balcony because who wanta to look at some dude's boxer briefs and empty beer cans? The biggest issue, however, was on the night of January 5th, just before midnight, when my wife and I were startled awake when a hotel employee opened the door to our room and stepped inside. When I jumped from bed and ran to the door, only to see a Marriott employee, I was confused. He offered zero explanation. He simply said sorry and walked out. This isn't okay. At all. That scared both of us. We came to this hotel to feel relaxed and secure, not to have people in your company's uniform enter our room in the middle of the night without asking or otherwise communicating before doing so. What do you plan to do to ensure that this behavior does not happen again? How do you plan to rectify this so that the rest of our trip isn't impacted negatively?

Friendly staff. Nice gym and pool. Clean property. Good location.

For the price, convenience and Service not a priority here. After making 3 trips to front desk because keys don’t work and told to wait in line to have it reset each time. Asked for extra keys and they are rationing keys. I have 5 people in my family. Share 2 keys.

Restaurant in hotel is undersized for size of property

Long waits for elevators

As frequent business traveler and ambassador, consider other properties

"I cannot speak highly enough about Rainbow, our attendant at the resort. From the moment we arrived, Rainbow's warmth, professionalism, and dedication to ensuring our stay was exceptional were truly outstanding. Her attention to detail and genuine care for us were evident in every interaction.

I read various reviews on this hotel before booking. Although I was a little apprehensive, we went ahead and booked it. I can’t say anything bad about our experience. The hotel is in a great location, offers great amenities, and the staff was always around and helpful. Our fridge wasn’t working when we checked in and our bathroom door wouldn’t slide closed. They were fixed right away while we were out. There are 2 Starbucks on the property and 2 ABC stores which we visited frequently. I highly recommend this hotel!
