Wailua Valley Lookout reviews
7 It is a beautiful look out, definitely worth stop for the beautiful views.
It is a Quick and easy stop while doing the road trip to Hana.
Very beautiful views of ocean and the mountains. Parking is very small, you can wait for few minutes because there is not much to do so people come and leave often. No rest rooms available or no food options or any.
This is a nice lookout to appreciate the size of the valley. The foliage is plentiful, so it's not as stunning as some other lookouts in Hawaii - but it is worth the stop. We had some light rain falling, creating a rainbow to the east.pretty cool!
A quick little detour off the main road leads to this impressive overlook. We did have to deal with a lot of chicken traffic at this particular stop.
Only a few parking spots, but if you can get one, it's worth a couple dozen steps up the stairs to the beautiful lookout on both sides.
There really isn't much to see here. We pulled over and I climbed to the top. It's a very short couple of steps. On one side you see the mountains with a small fall off in the distance and then the other side you see the ocean.
It was raining when I went so the ocean wasn't as visible as it could be. I bet it is a nice view when in good weather but I don't think its worth a stop while on the road to Hana.
The parking lot is very small too and maybe could fit 3 cars at a time
When you visit Maui and do the road to Hana or halfway to Hana which I suggest highly versus a full day to Hana. The Wailua Valley maybe the paradise that you have wondered if it existed. You found it and was looking from this overlook, you can see the untouched Jurassic part looking scenes. If you get lucky, and it's actually raining just before you get there you might find 12 waterfalls to see from the top of the stairs lookout. The waterfalls only lasts a moment. Heavy rainfall an upper levels of the valley give you a waterfall for about an hour and a half. This has carved the valley for hundreds of thousands of years. Come see why Jurassic Park producers chose Hawaii for the whole series.
