7 Stone Pizzeria

We love this pizza so much. Especially the deep dish. I love supporting local restaurants. The owners are always there with a smile and I can tell they treat their employees well. I really love that!

We finally tried this place out and are kicking ourselves for waiting so long. Holy cow, excellent pizza. The cheese bread is enormous and so tasty. People, they have fantastic local beer on tap, friendly owners, a great dining area, and incredible food. Today we got the large cheese bread, a large feta (artisan crust) pizza and a large Graziano's Italian sausage pizza (yeah, they use local sausage! Score!). We will go back again and again.

There’s very few top notch pizza joints in DSM, but 7 Stone is probably by far at the top (if not on the top) of my list in both thin and deep dish style pizza.

Fresh mozzarella and always fresh toppings, cooked in a woodfire oven.

It’s great place for family style dining, and we have ordered take out quite a few times from here. The consistency is where it’s at. Always consistent pizza here every time.

My favorite is probably the deep dish. They might hate me for this reference, but it reminds me of the old Pizza Hut deep dish from the 90s when it was actually good. So much nostalgia. Kinda like the old pan pizzas you would get from the Book-it days

Three years later and still awesome pizza!

Pizza is awesome! Nothing compares. Love that for carryout they pop it in the oven when i arrive so it is toasty warm when i get home. Very friendly place!

Best pizza place in Des Moines area, and as far as I’m concerned, best pizza place in Iowa. Absolutely fantastic. The thin crust simply hits different. Service is phenomenal as well. The owner is always talking to her customers, while still pushing pizzas out at an impressive rate. I’ve been here at least 30 times and am still impressed every single time.

Pizza was delicious. We got Buffalo chicken on a thin crust. Our friends got a sausages mushroom on thin crust. Both were wood fired.our favorite way to bake them. Staff was friendly, helpful and make great pizza. Worth stopping!

College kids cooking. Side salads are VERY bland and disappointing. They need to make that deliscious tomato based Italian dressing so many similar places make and dress up the salad just a bit, please. Pizza is just short of FANTASTIC. Keep at it! It’s generally excellent.

I have tried almost all the local pies in the west part of Des Moines and would consider their thin crust my favorite. Personally I'm not a fan of their deep dish/stone crust. It's simply too much crust and the balance with the toppings and sauce is off.

There are a couple things that are frustrating: the online hours posted do not match their actual operating hours. I've communicated this to them but I don't think anyone cares.
The length of wait if you're eating in. I'd say you should expect to wait 30mins for your pizza, even if it's a thin crust. It is a long time to sit around and wait, so be aware if you're planning your first visit. If you can time your visit I would recommend calling ahead and place your order.

Found 7 Stone was near our campground and we were there when they opened at 4pm! Hubby ordered large deep-dish ham/pineapple/mushroom and I ordered large thin crust 7 House. Both were delicious with our draft beers. We had enough for lunch for two more days! Fresh ingredients and attentive service even though they got pretty busy around 5pm! Highly recommend!

Visiting from CT, home of the best pizza in America, I was really surprised and extremely pleased by the 7 Stone house specialty pizza prepared. It was thin crust and DELICIOUS! Really nice staff, bright and clean surroundings and a nice assortment of beers to wash it all down. Looking forward to a return visit.

7Stone is legitimately the best pizza in the Des Moines area. Everything is amazing. Just go grab a pie and prove me wrong.

I don’t know how they have achieved a five star rating. We were a party of 6, we had to set up our own table with napkins, plates, water and silverware. They gave us 4 dirty menus, not 6 and 1/2 of us had to order our wine or beer from the counter. We ordered the 7 Stone Taco pizza and it was unappealing and dry. It’s just a long darker building with no atmosphere, and no view of any oven that I could see. I do not recommend this restaurant!

This would have been a 5 star for me. Only downside I had to get up for all my refills and No fresh Jalapeños. However, our Large sausage and Pepperoni thin crust pizza. Our cheese bread had a bit much oregano for my liking but cooked well and tastes fresh. Hard working crew inside pushing out several pizzas in the time we had our meal. For me this is going to be a Regular spot to grab pizza.

We're from Chicago. We don't often do "Chicago Style" pizza. We ordered thin crust and it was delicious. The service was great. Both on the phone and in the restaurant. The young man was personable and attentive. We ate Wednesday, leftovers Thursday and we plan to order another pizza tonight before we leave town. Ok, so we have a pizza problem.

This place was great. Pizza was amazing! Definitely coming back. Wish we had a 7 Stone Pizzeria in Michigan. If you want Pizza and a beer, this is the place!

Best pizza if not one of the top 3 pizzas I have eaten in the past 30 years. The crust has fantastic taste and texture reminiscent of my days eating Italian Pizzeria pizzas in New Jersey. The toppings are extremely fresh and deliciouwgich to me is a definite sign of high quality. Willing to recommend this pizza to everyone. Well done 7 Stone Pizzeria, and THANK YOU!
