16Water heater broken. Called office to submit a work order. I didn’t have my account set up online yet because my boyfriend was paying through his account. So I could not see if it was actually submitted or not. Called again today once I did make an account. Once I logged in, I saw nothing was submitted. So I made my own, then I saw that were 2 on there for the same issue. He had never submitted it even though he said he did. I have been taking ice cold showers and it upsets me that it took another call today to get this resolved. Reading the other 1 star reviews, it makes sense.
Aug2022: Spyglass Property they managed ; Gave away my unit. Taken to subpar other rentals, so Dave Lynch from management called to meet me at Boyson Row LLC, Units at 420 -453 N 18th Ave, Hiawatha Iowa.
I had my household in a moving truck so was forced to accept this unit. After moving in noticed the website availability as (same trope units) $1050 but all BIPOC/ African Americans are charged $1250.
Next Garbage Dumpters (2) overran with trash into the community. Dave acting as Mgr.stated we should all pitch in and pick up trash.
Neighbors 424 Unit were told after a repair to toilet they had to pay a fee for learning to use a toilet. They recently as of June/July finally received repairs to ceiling in bathroom with MOLD / Consistent Wetness. As most writers have stated the truth.
Myself been discriminated and bullied by management and front desk staff. Tyler in maintenance been a helpful and honest employee concerning adequate charges for minor repairs not “ Tenant “ fault but normal wear and tear.

Please let me know if they replaced or simply left the (2) bedroom doors as is (I repaired them because they are unpainted doors and when you place any adhesive strip or cling decorative art it peeled off the factory primer coat) those are unpainted doors only factory primed.
And carpet must be precessional cleaned because it always smelled like feet in main bedroom closet
Affinity Property Management practices bias behavior, their longtime discrimination tactics need to come to an end in Iowa. If you’ve had any contact with them as people of color or mixed racial families please report it to IOWA CIVIL RIGHTS COMMISSION.
Certain units have mold painted over in the bathrooms.
Window sills are cracked and cause high energy cost.
Unit 420/422/424 back entry face rear garbage dumpster area and have a plague of flies pestilence.
No screen doors are allowed
The dirt patch causes a lot of DIRT into the unit back patio.
Landscapers don’t manage the grounds for TRASH blowing.
They only cut grass
Basketball court is only non dirt area for kids to play and trees branches endanger the children.
After one year renting they use excuse - NO REASON to end TENANCY because they feel they filled a affirmative action quota by renting to those families.
And the lease agreement is ambiguous and prohibited things are contained in it.
So let’s see if Court Civil Actions against the owner of APMIA will now listen to reasonable business practices from a civil rights era person that grew up in The Civil Rights Movement.
My sister was interested in one of the properties that Affinity handled, she was told that it was a $40.00application fee, before she was able to even see the apartment, when she spoke to the agent on the phone, he said he would notify her before charging the app fee. She was never notified, about the deduction of the fee from her bank account, never showed the apartment, and was told the apartment was already rented.now why did they take the app fee out, if the apartment was already rented?
I had to pay a $40 application fee without benefit of even seeing the apartment. I was not notified that they were going to take the $40 out of my checking account, and yet had not seen the apartment. I might as well taken the $40 and throwed out the window. I cannot afford this. Any where else if you were interested in an apartment, then you would put an application in and pay the application feel. This is a rip off and these guy are crooks.
I have been a resident of infinity for years now and I took advantage of the Obligo option to use my deposit for rent. It was fast and easy I would definitely recommend you guys take advantage of this opportunity.
Can you provide better hours? At least until 4: 30pm? Or perhaps one day from 9am-5pm? Just a suggestion
It seems all of the reviews lately mirror my experience. Rented from them for 4 years and never had an issue with Becca. When Liz took over it has absolutely been an awful experience. Tried to explain her condescending emails as her “more open, honest, and friendlier than most are comfortable with”. No it’s just being rude. Be wary of renting from these folks, plenty of other quality property management companies.
We have lived in the same apartment for over 5 years we love our location and the unit itself we keep our house tidy we have NEVER been late on our rent we don’t complain/get complaints and only put in maintenance request when it’s an emergency so we’ve never had any problems we keep to ourself but then A little over a year I go or so Affinity took over our managing complex it was been horrible since then! The property manger talks down to us like we are incompetent children. They do not handle maintenance request in a timely manner or communicate properly and when jobs are “completed” it is a very half done/rush job and then on top of that they go on your account and completely overcharge you for the maintenance they “do”…. I’m am heartbroken to say I will NOT be resigning my lease and saying goodbye to the place my family and I have loved to call home for many years all because I cannot live with the way we are treated by this company
If I could give them zero stars or -1000 I would, not only is the person who runs my building Liz, extremely unprofessional and rude emailing me at one in the morning about a doormat.i asked the man to talk in private and he said we could do it in front or everyone.raising his voice at a woman, they don’t fix what’s broken nor do they give you a 24 hour notice for non-emergent maintenance request. Extremely rude when I went in there to talk to the person who runs the place. He was raising his voice at me and told me I could leave. He didn’t care if I left him a bad review DO NOT RENT
IF I COULD GIVE A 0 STAR I MOST DEFINITELY WOULD. The management has always had a horrible attitude except for Luke at the front desk! I’ve came to them with SEVERAL problems and they never fix Anything! My ceiling in my bedroom has been cracked since I moved in… a HUGE crack btw, why tf is my ceiling cracked in the first place! It has leaked 5 times since I’ve lived here 3 months. They said they were gonna patch it, matter fact they said they DID patch it and NEVER did. NEVER fixed the issue either from my upstairs neighbors constantly letting her tub and sink overflow or from the pipes in the ceiling, my bed is constantly getting wet from this water and everything else around it. Horrible service and never get things done in a timely manner. I will never rent here again! Don’t get sold lies!
I applied for a home through this company and the second time I was denied I called to get clarification. They stated I was denied because my co-applicant was denied, well my co-applicant was denied for owing a balance to our current landlord. We are on the same lease, so if my co-applicant owed anything that means I would as well (we did not even have a balance). I was scammed out of my hard earned money spending $80 on application fees, and I did not hear back from anyone to clarify things. Beware it seems they take people’s money regularly per the reviews.
House they showed had running water throughout the basement. The guy was rude. Look at reviews.
Do absolutely NOT rent from this company! Their properties are full of mold and they don’t clean them before you move let alone fix a single thing before you move in or while living there! I hope they like law suits bc they have one coming!
Run from this place! When I moved out I cleaned the property (which I have proof of) and they charged me a cleaning fee of $141.99 on top of other ridiculous charges. Moved out in November of 2022 and just received a sec statement in February of 2023 with added-on charges. Not a good company to rent from or do business with. Zero stars.
They don't even deserve a star. Workers here are incompetent and unprofessional. God forbid if you have anything stop working in your house. The people they send out to "fix" your issues shouldn't even have jobs the guy who came in to fix our water heater almost set the house on fire! Worse property management. Ever. Don't even bother trying to pay with a debit unless you want to pay a $40 "convenience " fee every time. Rent from anywhere else if you can
