Criminal. The property manager in Sherman Hill is what I assume is a sociopath. I was given a fake eviction notice as an empty threat for smoking in the alleyway and keep in mind it says nothing about no smoking anywhere in the lease agreement. The manager actually tried to tell me there's no smoking in any apartments in Iowa due to the Iowa Smoke Free Air Act which I know is not true.
He also told me they were on The American Heart Associations approved list of non smoking apartments which there is no evidence of. He went up to one of my neighbors smoking outside the building and told her she had to pay a $5 fine for smoking which he took in cash and put into his pocket. I also got bed bugs in the apartment and keep in mind there are holes in the corners where the heat radiator goes through and I've seen mice go through these holes as well. They tried to charge me for the pest extermination which is against Des Moines municipal code because it's a multi unit dwelling. I told them this is against the law and he had the audacity to say that isn't true and he would know because "he's on the board that makes the municipal code laws". They continued to send me letters in the mail with a bill for this which I constantly refused. Don't do business with Alliance Realty and especially stay away from the property manager Dan Gray in Sherman Hill. Oh and if you don't believe me about this guy see his review below where he actually refers to himself as a genius.
