Alohana Hawaiian Grill reviews
7We've been looking for a good Hawaiian place since we left Arizona. Even my kids remember, and miss the chicken katsu meals. We finally found it! We were in Des Moines for errands and stopped in for supper. Excellent, friendly service and that great food we'd been missing! We came back the next day for lunch and to grab some to-go for my kids, who are now adults. They were so excited.
Definitely a neat place to try! The food is always good and quality remains consistent. I get the Volcano Chicken and a Strawberry Guava Drink and it’s great!
This was a fun surprise for lunch! We walked inside unsure of what to expect. The person at the counter was friendly and explained the different styles and choices to us. We got the Hawaiian-style barbeque chicken and the curry. They were both delicious! Good prices.
Everyone is so nice, food is fantastic and extremely reasonable for the portion you get! I've been back many times since my first a month ago.
Overcrowded, unsafe for this moment in time. I just CANNOT with masking here. Customers and staff not making an attempt. I saw another guy order spam musubi take to go, and also shift uncomfortably during the wait.
Happy to re-review when I have fewer environmental concerns in a few months.
The food was so delicious. We were worried because we were there not long before closing. The food was fresh and plentiful. The mac salad was creamy and buttery smooth while the meats were tasty and full of flavor. We come to Ankeny from time to time and this would be a stop I intend to make again.
This place was a nice surprise when we were heading to the Maid Rite next door. My Hawaiian Style Pineapple Chicken was great! Will stop by again just for that!
If they could play some Hawaiian music it would complete the overall experience.
Keep up the good work!
