Sooo tasty! Each flavor was vibrant and yummy. It’s not the most lively atmosphere inside, but it’s got great-tasting food with fantastic portions!

I visited this sweet establishment just a few days ago, for my very first time.

I was so pleased with my experience.

The food was wonderful.
I got a yellow curry with tofu, and I am eating it for the fourth time now. So many servings worth of food, and the most veggie-dense curry I’ve ever had!

I think I paid $19 for spring rolls and curry with rice. That felt fair.

I don’t know how long I waited for my food. I showed up to a small restaurant with an obvious carry-out line of folks waiting. I had not called ahead, so I had to place my order, wait for the line ahead of me to be cared for, and then receive my own freshly cooked meal.
And, my goodness.

What I saw in the time waiting for my food, truly just warmed my heart so much.

It’s hard to come by food that is made with love, care and honor these days. But this food absolutely was, and it is evident in every angle.

The woman emerging from the kitchen with orders and a bit of a rise of concern and apology for the wait, met by receivers who were grateful and honoring, not at all concerned by the time spent. She cared so much, perhaps wishing she could have done more, faster!

The woman who took my order mentioned she was the daughter of those who run the restaurant, and she seemed to have a couple of friends waiting nearby.
It seemed to be a sudden busy rush.
At the end of the rush, I overheard the father ask what his daughter’s friend wanted to eat. It just carried across as so wholesome.

A rush to feed the people, with so much integrity, and then to be sure to take care of the family.

A few minutes spent waiting for really lovely food, was gifted with witnessing just how sweet this restaurant seems to be at the root.
Those are the kind of people want to be handling my nourishment.

Fresh, tasty, authentic and affordable. Places like this make me remember when Bourdain said “ the best food in the world is vietnamese “ I can say it is probably true.

I had been wanting to come here since I moved to DSM in 2020 but the hours were pretty wonky due to COVID and staffing. I finally got to eat here a few weeks ago and my goodness, was it worth the wait! EVERYTHING was absolutely divine! I'm not a huge Pad Thai fan but my boyfriend ordered it and I almost ate it all, not leaving him much. My phô was also perfect! The broth was delicate but flavourful and the umami in the meat really complimented it perfectly. Seriously, seriously such good food! It really reminds me a lot of my mom's who is states away so you know I'll be coming back! Prices are cheap and the food comes out fast! Staff is also super sweet and attentive!

The food here is fantastic. We've eaten here 6 or 7 times and ordered take out several times as well. Try the Angry Catfish or the Pad Thai and I usually have a Shrimp Spring Roll. We're working our way through the menu.

We always do take out from here for good fresh pho. Just had green curry and noticed all ingredients are freshly cut veggies and meat. Not the canned stuff you get sometimes from other restaurants. Awesome value for the food considering. Highly recommend.

I got the bun bo hue, and it was literally the best bun bo hue i’ve tried in des moines.the broth had so much flavor i didn’t even need to add anything.i loved how much lemongrass they put in the broth.the veggies that come with it were also fresh!

Nice customer service and friendly staff and the restaurant looked clean besides all the flies flying around and of course one made its way into my Pad Thai. I didn’t see it until I was almost done with my meal. Yuck!

Told the waitress and she offered another plate but I declined because who knows, there might by more in there. She was nice enough not to charge me for it too that’s why I’m giving them a 3/5 for their excellent customer service.

This is a great gem for Asian in Des Moines. The food is very tasty. The staples are great like their Pho, Pad Thai, and Thai Fried Rice. Their service is helpful and attentive. I will definitely be trying other dishes I have seen other patrons enjoying.

This was our first time visiting Aroy-Dee Restaurant which has been on our list of places to eat ever since we moved to Des Moines last year. It was worth the wait. It's a small family owned restaurant that features Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese dishes. The dining area is small and clean and the server Kam was very attentive and friendly. The food was prepared quickly and was extremely fresh, beautiful and delicious. We started our meal with fresh shrimp spring rolls and followed it with a dish called Ladna Shrimp which is a Thai wide noodle dish. The menu has something for everyone. The prices are very reasonable and serving portions are generous. We will be returning here again and recommend that you give them a visit yourself!

Try the angry catfish if you like spicy. They also have a catfish that is mild, but also good. The fish actually falls off the bones, so
don’t worry about swallowing one. The other dishes are decent also, but the catfish is the BEST around. No alcohol served. Service is friendly & carry out is quick.

Decent food but this is the 3rd time I've showed up on a scheduled open day and they are somehow closed at 123pm when their Monday hours are 11am open ‍️

They said they were open on the webpage and on the page posted to the door, but when we arrived they were closed. Was very disappointed. Hope they can keep things updated in the future.

Wow! So glad we took a leap of faith and tried this place. The pho was amazing and the serving sizes were filling and then some. We ordered our pho to go so they sent the broth separate from the noodles, veggies and any ordered meat/seafood. A couple packets of hoisin, red pepper and soy sauce were included as well as a lime wedge. It reminded me of hotpots and I enjoyed the complexity of flavor more after letting it sit for a few minutes. Plus, the broth was scalding hot so it needed a minute to cool. My daughter tried the chef special catfish and loved it. Pad Thai was also very good.

I forgot to take a pic of my dish i guess my stomach wanted to eat and not take pictures ahaha but I had gotten the seafood ladna and I gotta tell ya there was more seafood then any other place I have gotten it and the noodles woo got that wok fire taste I would definitely get it again

Waited outside for 15 minutes with other customers knocked on all of there doors for no one to answer it's a Monday it says they are online. Drove 15 mins and then waited 15 minutes with other customers to get no answer and no explanation on the door as to why they were closed lights on in the entry way and the back of the store even knocked on the employee entrance and nothing. Called nothing. Can not believe this.

They have a very large menu and their food is great. I have liked everything I’ve tried. The Pho is excellent and so is the Shrimp Vermicelli. You should give them a try, they won’t disappoint, plus you feel like you’ve put something healthy in your body.

Had 2 angry catfish, papaya salad, sticky rice, and crab rahoom. Angry catfish was super tasty, papaya was not spicy enough for us and we asked for HOT.service was prompt! Place was clean, parking in front was small. Pho was delicious. I will be returning and would recommend this place for Thai.

The place is simple, it doesn’t look like much but the food is delicious! I love their C1 Combo - fried chicken wings, papaya salad & sticky rice! The side dish egg drop soup was amazing! The pork chop with fried egg & rice was scrumptious!:)

Pho was delicious. Broth was perfect. Spring roll was fresh/tasted great. Definitely a returned visit is planned for future.
