The bouquet I ordered looked fantastic- just like the picture on the website! I also ordered chocolates and balloons. My mom was thrilled with everything they delivered. I will not go anywhere else- clearly the best quality and the best prices here!

Thank you, Bates Flowers! I went online to order flowers, a balloon, and chocolates for my daughter's birthday, and within half an hour, I got a notification to say they were out for delivery. Then I realized I'd provided the wrong address, so I called to correct it. The florist could not have been kinder or more understanding and immediately redirected the delivery person. The flowers are gorgeous, two balloons were provided, and the chocolates look fabulous. My daughter was thrilled with them! Many thanks to Bates for doing such a wonderful job!

Stephanie is a true artist! These are not just your run-of-the-mill bouquets; the arrangements she and her team create are unique, gorgeous, and high-quality. I appreciate that they can work with any budget, whether you're looking for an under-$20 pick-me-up or splurging for a special event. Whenever I call or walk in I am greeted with a friendly smile, even when it's clear that everyone is really busy. And while I try not to be THAT CUSTOMER who calls with a ridiculous last-minute request, I have done so and the team has done their best to work with me. I also appreciate their lovely selection of gifts and cards, houseplants, and the most delicous chocolates!

My mother had her 80th birthday yesterday Sunday April 3rd, 2022. She was supposed to receive a wrist corsage to wear at church. And there was supposed to be altar flowers delivered at her church. I paid for these services a month before. I just went into the shop to ask why this wasn't done. Apparently this order was supposed to be canceled due to an out of town event. What sort of business does this!? My mother was really looking forward to her altar flowers! The previous owner did a much better job running Bates flowers. I'll definitely be taking my business elsewhere.

I stopped in here recently out of curiosity as my aunt was a florist and I spent a lot of time in her shop growing up. Not only are the flower arrangements fresh and fun, but the owner is really on top of current trends. It was nice to visit with the owner, and I really love the chocolates I decided to grab. There are all sorts of fun gift items, and a great plant selection. Even the music playing in the background is wonderful- so nice and peaceful! A great place to have in Grinnell!

I cannot thank Stephanie enough for what she did to help my wedding come together.

I had spoken with a few flower shops nearer to the town I live in before consulting with Bates. Both of the other places gave me quotes right away.only Stephanie actually took time to call growers and suppliers and get me real pricing, not just a guess as to what I would be looking at paying. Guess what? Bates was less. I guess this probably explains why my cousin, who also got married recently, was surprised with an additional bill from the person who did her flowers, and hers weren't even pretty, but old and damaged. The flowers Stephanie designed for my wedding were flawless, and totally exceeded what my mind had dreamt up for our big day. No one at my wedding even cared about my dress or my cake, they just wanted to tell me how gorgeous my flowers were.

Not living right in Grinnell, I don't get a chance often to visit the stores there, but now that I know, I KNOW. Looking back on the things I ordered from people in my town, I feel badly that my friends and family didn't get the same quality as what I get from Stephanie at Bates. I will never mind the short drive anytime I need flowers, plants or a gift for someone.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! I got some gorgeous orange roses there today, and there are sooo many more great things besides flowers! So glad I stopped in while walking downtown this afternoon. The owner (Stephanie) was also super nice, and I know I probably asked a lot of dumb questions, but she was great and very patient with me. Will definitely be back very soon.

I came in last week to pick up some blue roses I had special ordered in advance for a family event. Stephanie did such a great job for us, and explained to me the extra care needed for these, since this is a dyed flower. A week later and they are still in excellent condition. My sister and I also got some of their gourmet chocolates. They are so good, we will be back in just to get more of these, even if we don't need flowers. They are starting to put out Christmas displays, and they have some really beautiful things for the holidays. Everything here is awesome!

Service was great and I had the florist design the arrangement for my wife for Mother’s Day. It looked AWESOME! We loved the coloring, design and vase was very cool. I would recommend Bates to everyone! Thank you so much for your service, design and professionalism.

Visiting Grinnell this summer, I stopped at all the shops I could downtown. Bates place not only has beautiful fresh flowers, but candles, tons of plants, fun little gift items and some really delicious chocolate. Absolutely wonderful people and very friendly without hounding me, begging for a sale. I found out that the owner is the only florist around, who has actually gone to school for floral design, so this is definitely where I will be getting flowers for my mom now that she lives here.

*note: I did stop into 'the other place' that same day. Horrible! I was chased around the store and pleaded for a review here, while a man that I assume is the owner's creepy husband or boyfriend leered at me from the corner. It was very awkward and off-putting and I will never step foot in Vonda's again.

Ordered and received a wonderful and colorful Balloon Bouquet for HS Graduation party. A week later, they are still full and great! And of course picked up some delicious chocolates for myself to devour!

Very disappointed in the balloons we purchased on May 28th for our son's graduation. We purchased 6 balloons and the first one deflated within 8 hours and the rest within 12 hours of the first ballon. Not sure what the problem was but we have never had balloons deflate so quickly. They were relatively inexpensive but we would have been willing to pay more for a little more helium.

Ordered two weeks in advance expecting a 9 to 3pm delivery.

Delivered to my wife's office at 3: 45,15 minutes after my she left work on a Friday.

Poor response to feedback provided privately, do not recommend.

Bates did a great job on a specialty Valentine's Day arrangement. Delivery was on time, price was fair, and the arrangement looked amazing.
