Friendly staff but it always feels like they are going out of business every time I go in. Store feels empty and there's not much to buy in DVDs and Blu-rays

Went in to buy a fit bit. Left empty handed because I was so annoyed! The selection of fit bits & smart watches are spread out into different areas of the store making it in pain to do comparison

Nobody asked what I needed at the door… that’s fine… stand in TV section for 20 minutes… nobody approaches me…. I then ask employee for help and they say they’ll call someone over! Waited 15 minutes and nobody came… never thought it’d be so hard to spend $1500! Target didn’t have that problem

Can't really find what you're looking for, all demos are broken or unplugged, and nobody wants to help you. Plenty of employees standing around playing on their phones, but nobody to talk to.

I got what I wanted from Amazon instead.

Very difficult to get an actual live person on the phone. Also, it's not very friendly or knowledgeable if you are needing account or billing information. I purchased a 50 inch flat screen TV, and when I received it, the screen was shattered. Upon calling, they sent a replacement and printable prepaid return label to my email. This label did not include the cost of return delivery pickup, so I called them again and was assured that they take care of the shipping and provided another label. Again when I attempted to schedule pickup, I was told that I would be charged for the pickup. I would LOVE to know who can fit a 50 inch TV in the back seat of a midsized sedan! I am STILL waiting for confirmation that Best Buy has taken care of this issue!
I purchased this on the 1st of June, and after several attempts to get them to setup the actual pickup and return, it was FINALLY picked up on June 23!

Tried to get a refurbished iPhone but was surprised by the negative tone of customer service. Even though many tech-websites were saying that the particular iphone I was looking into would be able to get upload at least until 2025 and is still a great buy on 2023, they thought it could go unusable even this year. Then they said that their refurbished phones were sold by the third companies and they don't know what kind of warranty is offered except that it would be just for a few months with bare minimum coverage. They also said that even though the refurbished phones are sold at Best Buy, they don't have a standard to test the quality of refurbished phones. So you don't know what you are getting from the third party, and there's not much of warranty unless you buy $180 Best Buy support deal. I decided to get a refurbished iPhone from other places that offer one year warranty.

Purchased a “new” MacBook Air that didn’t work out of the box. Returned it to store four hours after purchase. Manager at store refused to refund or offer a replacement saying the serial numbers didn’t match. I believe he meant the numbers on the machine and Apple box didn’t match. He also reported that the screen was cracked and the charging cord appeared used and possibly fractured. He told us we’d have to take it up with Apple, offering zero solutions. We went to a legitimate Best Buy the next morning, received a refund for the damaged, obviously used, and dysfunctional computer. The manager at the second store said the serial number on laptop and Apple box did match. The secondary box that held the Apple Box had a different number affixed to a label that did not match. Appears that this was a used device that was stuffed in a secondary box and sold as new. Worst customer service experience that I can remember. Obviously, I will never set foot in Coralville Best Buy again. Rates zero stars not one.

Seems like this may be a store Best Buy will be or needs to close. I'm an Elite (highest tier whatever it's called now) Best Buy member, and this store is downright the worst Best Buy I've been to, from Florida, to Texas, to Iowa. Cleanliness alone is an issue along with service and stock. From the parking lot to the interior of the store, there was trash debris everywhere. Is no one available to vacuum and keep the floors cleaned? The stock selection was horrible, shelves empty left and right. You will also wait a long time to be helped for simple things, like buying a $300 pair of headphones - waited 20 minutes for someone to be able to get them after I asked. Sad to see Best Buy in this state, there is much room to do better or this store will probably close too.

We had a horrible experience with the Best Buy in Coralville. Their entire team needs a major course in costumer service and relations. On a Sunday afternoon, the “clown” in charge, while on a power trip, acted extremely unprofessionally while refused to honor our Product Protection Plan. At the same time, she made no effort to mask her delight of the situation by desperately trying to be funny and amusing (hence the clown comment)! Later the manager, in an e-mail, justified her behavior. We ended up trying a different Best Buy branch which took care of the problem and replaced the product in 15 minutes. That saved us a trip to the small-claims-court!

Terrible customer service. Went in to buy a $1500 drone. They put me on a queue to wait for someone to help me. Waited… waited…. 25 min later, no one. At this point you’re asking yourself why you want to spend this much money with this service. After 30 min I told the man at the front door to remove my name and I’ll buy it off Amazon. He said “sure, no problem! ” … and you wonder why Amazon does well. Best Buy has taken a major nose dive.

Short staffed. Took a bit to get help. Ended up having an actual Apple rep/vendor come into store by chance that helped us. They were a few minutes from losing a macbook sale.

Pick up. Not the best service. Was told our order could not be fulfilled. We were not emailed any of this information. When we got there to pick it up we were told that it will be shipped from another store. We do not live anywhere close to this location. So we went and looked for the item we purchased and it was in the shelf. They couldn’t do “anything” about it so they made us buy it again. Again, not the best for pick up. They don’t actually look for orders and are to lazy to do the job they are paid for. Thank you

Walkin to buy an item quest 2 and was greated as I walked in. When I asked where in the store I can find it I was told I have to go to the register and they'll bring it up since "they seem to just walk out the door".

I bought the item since I was already there and in general the workers were nice enough but I felt like as a customer I wasn't welcomed and need to be watched.

I don't think it was anyones intentions to make the place feel hostile but but amazon, walmart, and target never made me feel like I was doing something bad.

I can't remember the general manager's name but he really went above and beyond to help me out. I had originally ordered an opened iPad Air for school and unfortunately it took some time to locate it when I got to the store. When it was realized it probably wasn't going to be found, he went out of his way to get me a brand new iPad for the price I had paid for the open box one.
I can't tell you how much I appreciated this effort, he was awesome!

The limited or no stock of most items is surprising to me. Most of the time we can find what we are looking for but not this time. It is no wonder Amazon is so popular.
