My favorite bar in Des Moines for a few reasons! I think they have the best drinks in Des Moines, and the atmosphere is really enjoyable. I love all the art and trinkets. The best nights are the theme nights with a DJ. The bartenders are really nice. It tends to be a fun, relaxing environment.

I've been to the black sheep 3 separate times, and each time I haven't been served at the bar. Not sure why or how, but I've been ignored by the bartenders each and every time I've been there. This last time we were waiting for 15 minutes and watched two other groups get served before us, even after we had asked the bartender if we could order. The vibe is nice, but its really disappointing going into a bar and getting completely ignored by the bartenders. Even court ave bars aren't that bad.

Edit: I appreciate the reply from the owners but that ignores what I'm saying, being ignored from the bartenders after asking for service still seems like poor service. Not being served before people who came up to the bar after you feels like poor service.

Bartender used my friend’s credit card to look her up on Facebook and the DJ pulled on my curls when I was standing with my back to the booth. Never going back.

Very sexy place! I love to end my night here whenever I go out! Katie is my favorite bartender. Love it when they have a DJ! Limited on space but I kind of like that.

Walking up the place doesn't look like much, but the atmosphere is good, the DJ was fun and really knew how to string together the music. Bar service was great.

I was excited to try Mezcal here but then I was disappointed when I found out it wasn't indigenous owned. If your going to drink something that is sacred to people the least you can do is make sure your supporting people from that community who make Mezcal.

Unlike any tequila bar Iv ever been to! The vibe is on point, tequila selection is great, not to overbearing, feels like an underground NYC nightclub. The night I came was an all vinyl disco night which I only see when traveling to bigger cities. This place has been around since 2016 but still a hidden gem. 5 stars for being the the most underground scene in Des Moines! Best tequila bar in the city! ! !

Honestly its a small bar but not really thought i would be. I was hoping it would be a metal bar with good metal music but its mostly just some dj that plays random techno/sound cloud style music.

Worst place in Des Moines. The drinks sucked, beer selection sucked. Incense so intense that it burned your eyes. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Love this bar and atmosphere. The place is always super chill and full of fantastic tequila. The female bartender with the funny face is super knowledgeable too and knows her stuff even if she really loves Jameson

Gosh I love this place! Definitely hidden gem.it's all about the music and the tequila drinks are awesome.

Was there one time. Ordered Old Fashion. For that price it should be much better. Not sure if I go there again

Interesting atmosphere it was quite small and cramped spite there not being many people but the drinks we ended up getting where very good and a thumbs up for the music choice.

I hear people all the time that are worried that this place is scary. It's not scary at all. Great friendly staff. Unique atmosphere. They have DJs on weekends and are usually packed. If it's too loud there's a cosy, quieter spot upsairs for seating and conversation.
