Breakout Games - Des Moines reviews
16This was our 1st time trying an escape room. We had a lot of fun. We had the maximum number of people in the room and almost didn't make the time limit. We will be back to try a new escape!
We had a fun night of team building. We have done this twice and it has been exciting and challenging.
Love this place. Such a great family experience. Will definitely go back. Great employee's and very clean.
Liv was a great gamemaster today. We had a blast. Folks were polite, game was challenging and fun. Sounds like new things are coming soon to this location too! Would recommend!
Did not know what to expect. I've never done a break out room before, thought it sounded fun. I HAVEN'T STOPPED THINKING ABOUT IT! I'm trying to organize another one. We had a party of 6 and we did the Haunted Mansion. The clues were difficult, but not impossible. The staff was amazing, from booking, to showing up, to our game warden who have clues, but not answers. We ran out of time, but no one cared. It was so fun and showed me that my project management skills need some work. HA! Delegate tasks!
Clean and organized. It was a great way to get a group of kids out of the house, off screens, and having a good time! For a small group of kids (5 or less), I recommend Mystery Mansion. For 5 or more, Island Adventure. And the Island is a little more difficult.
It was an awesome night with friends and family solving a mystery. Liv was an amazing host. Can't wait to do another escape room.
Do not disturb, is an immersive story well made. Despite a bad lock, a sticking door, and a unclear clue. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it to others.
We had a BLAST. This is a great date night idea or team bonding experience. We were very happy with the room itself and the staff we interacted with.
I went with my niece and nephew and it was so fun. We didn’t escape but our Game Master, Liv, was wonderful as well. Worth a try!
6 of us drove from Story & Marion county, to celebrate me starting law school. We reserved the "bomb squad " room. Which was so small, that there was barely any room for us to move around. There were 7 or 8 combo locks. None of the "directions" you get are clear, nor do they let you know what lock the clue goes to. So you have to try all of them. That takes up most of the time you have. The clues are all papers with baffling instructions (that are hard to read in a dark room with 1 dim flashlight) it took almost 40 min to figure out what lock the 1st set of clues went to. When we asked for help they spent more time asking us what we figured out than they did helping us get to the next step. We spent $150 and 2 hours of driving for the experience of getting frustrated and pissed. How fun can it be trying to unlock a bunch of locks? Because that was literally what the entire room was. We've all been to other escape rooms that actually engaged your puzzle solving abilities, had clear and defined paths to get you to the next step, and were fun. This place does none of that! I will not be returning! We were all so upset that it was not the fun celebration experience we had envisioned, that we called off dinner & just went home. If I never see another combo lock, it will be too soon.
The rooms are fun and we have always enjoyed ourselves. We do this as a family event every year. The reason for 4 stars is: they have had the same rooms for years. I know there are others that can be rotated in based on Breakout Games (same company) in other cities. We have done all the games and reluctantly have to use a different company this year. Get on the ball, guys! Get some new rooms!
So fun! We did the kidnapping one with the handcuffs and got out of those almost immediately, aaron did a really good job of giving us clues without giving the answer. 10/10 experience would go again!
So fun! My boyfriend and I had a blast. This was our first time and we will definitely be going again!
Our group of 5 (2 parents and kids aged 13,17 and 18) had a great time! It was especially fun to watch our kids work together and see how everyone contributed differently. We beat the bomb squad and definitely will return to try other rooms!
Kylah was an awesome game master! We had so much fun with the island escape breakout room! Will definitely come again!
