Brookside Park, Ames IA

Scenic, was a beautiful day so we took our dogs for a long walk in May. We have a husky puppy and german shepherd adult. We had never been down there before so it was an adventure for all of us. Not many people surprisingly, clean and tidy. Will go again during nice days Im sure

It was a clean park with several trails and beautiful bridges along with areas for individuals of all ages.

This is my ideal running rout. The winding path along with the tree cover makes it a good spot for any runner

I really enjoy coming here to get my mind off things and go for walks. Also a great spot to play tennis, basketball, and other activities. Tons of space to do whatever you want. I also enjoy taking photos here! It's so beautiful.

Great place to go to celebrate and for kids to play lot of different playgrounds. Areas to see the water up close nice bridge as well.

One our favorite parks love the new lights. Public restrooms are closed for the winter. The city usually has a porta potty but it's not there yet.

A great park for kids, multiple playgrounds to play for a long time. My kids love the fire truck.

This is a nice park. I started coming to this park as a kid.

In a good location.

They really need to keep the place up a little better as far as the amount of walnuts on the tables and on the ground. Stepping on them is unavoidable in certain areas and that makes for a hard time trying to do any activities other than sitting which also is a task to clear all the stuff off the table and benches to put any food down. A better idea with the trash can if they are not going to be emptied on a regular basis is to not have them chained down or in the enclosures so close to the chained downstairs picnic tables. Probably wouldn't have had as many guests stung by wasps and 2 bees. It is a really beautiful park. Just needs a few changes

Nice park clean restrooms I been to a lot of park this one is really nice I take walks in the morning before work.

Decent Park okay trail convenient for skaters if you like to skate has the skateparks just across the street

Brookside Park is one of the most beautiful parks here in Ames. Plenty of space plenty of shade and plenty of smiles. Another bonus to this is it has a skatepark so your teenager won't complain how bored they are when you ask them to join you for a family outing

Although I enjoyed a small brunch at the park, my children disagreed. After finishing their meal, they went off to play barefoot on the playground equipment. It turns out that a metal fire engine in the hot sun turns into a makeshift skillet. Eggs weren't the only thing fried today.

Just enough space for everything you could think of- play equipment, jogging, get together in the shelter. We're so lucky to have such a spacious and beautiful park

It was kept very clean and the playgrounds just got recently upgraded. The only reason I took a star off was for the quality of the running/biking paths.

This is an enjoyable place for me to run - the dirt trails especially. This park also has a pretty nice basketball court (I believe the backboard heights can be adjusted).

This is a well maintained family park, with play structures, both paved and natural paths, large picnic shelters with electricity, grills, restrooms, drinking fountains, children's wading pool (weather permitting). Near a baseball field, courts, across from a skate park, on a bike path and cyride route. It is located in central Ames between downtown and campus.
