Thank you to Car-X (S. Ankeny Blvd) for the quick and professional service today when I needed front tires replaced. From Matt at the front who kept me up-to-date with real-time communication, to Mike and team who replaced the tires and completed the alignment. I appreciate the help very much as I could tell it was a very busy Iowa cold day with less than stellar road conditions. Thank You!

In the past I've had a good experience here, but yesterday it took them 3hrs to put 2 new tires on and do a rotation then at the end of it all I ended up going to Casey's and airing up my tires because they couldn't seem to figure it out

About what you'd expect from a large corporate shop, high prices and much emphasis put on getting the car turned around quickly. This leads to incomplete diagnosis and, unfortunately, incomplete repairs.

Went there for a tire change after having to put on a perfectly GOOD spare a week prior as well as an alignment fix. Dude comes back in saying I NEED something else of some sort, almost arguing with me about it even though I did not ask for it. Not even two months after getting my tire changed there my tire popped on THE INTERSTATE at night. I came back to my abandoned car the next change to put on my spare, and my spare HAD A HOLE IN IT. My SPARE had to have been messed with as it was FINE when I took it in the first place. Very disappointed and highly upset never coming back here don’t waste your time and money

Windshield wipes needed
That charge at Car x Twice the amount plus labor.o Reillys.half the price and they'll change them free!

I miss my manager and the woman is not near as customer service focused as he. They never called to tell us a car repair was complete. My family will be going to a different carx

8/20/22- I was at the Carx in South Ankeny at approximately 9: 50 a.m. Or so and asked for a brake flush and check the brake pads since my wife will be traveling for a week.  They pulled the car in approximately 10: 05 a.m.  The cost for the flush was 128.24 and they complete it in approximately 20 minutes that included checking the brake pads.  The brake checks came back at 10mm (See attached Doc) for all the pads which indicate they are practically new for a vehicle that have not has any brake pads change with 65,000 miles.   These same pads was checked last year when I had a coolant flush and they were approximately 4-5 mm.  This made me question about the brake flush so I checked the reservoir and there was definitely a separation of fluid.  The fluid above the minimal line was clear while below the minimal line was dark yellow (see picture).  I took a picture of reservoir and went back to Carx and asked the manager how was it possible that the brake pads was stills 10 mm and a clear separation of fluid of dark color below the minimal line and clear above.  He gave some answers that I felt did not support my observation or conclusion since I had brake fluid flush in other vehicles in the past. The color of the fluid of those flushes was consistence unlike this flush and the pads at 10 mm at 65,000 miles is somewhat suspicious.   I looked forward to the explanation to this post and have reached out to the corporate office. Hopefully, I will get an explanation before I contemplate on filing with the BBB. Updates: I was able to reach CarX's parent company (Monro) and they did refund the monies.

Stopped in at the Ankeny location had a wonderful experience. Seth was very professional and courteous. Took time out of his busy day to take care of me when it wasn’t necessary customer service was impeccable!

Got a hole in a tire took it in to have a PATCH installed. Specifically said patch. Looked at reciept said includes vulcanized patch along with paying for balancing tire. Got home to install tired noticed it was a red plug that was already working it's self out. Wasn't balanced because tire wasn't taken off rim. Called complained about it they claimed it was a generic code. Asked why I paid for balance that wasn't done said it's a generic code. Took back to them to have fixed right, took out red plug installed black plug in place. Tire was never taken off rim to install a patch. Requested a quote for new tires to be installed but will not be back to get scammed again. I'd caution others to check and make sure this don't happen to you as well

Had car in to check alignment, they said the alignment was spot on, i then put brand new tires on my car, 3000 miles later the front tires are bald and the alignment was way off they don’t want to do anything to help.

I had to select at least one. I had an appointment at 1: 00. I got there early, bays were full. "How can I help you? ", He asked. "I have an appointment at 1: 00, Russell". "All my bays are full and I only have 3 guys. Is there anyway we can schedule you for tomorrow? "he said. "Are you overbooked and/or understaffed? ", I asked. Both he said. " Why didn't you call me? ", I asked. " I was to busy", he said. I scheduled with a dealer, and called back and cancelled.

I brought my car in for an routine oil change and they left oil marks on several areas on the outside of my car. They also left oil smudges on my seat cushion and floor mat. When I sent a message to complain, the manager played phone-tag and never actually seemed to care. I attached one photo of the oil marks in this review but Car-X had Goggle remove it. I like supporting local but this Car-X isn’t worth the trouble.

Asked for 1 qt.oil to be added, coolant to be added, and tires pressure check. Explained I was too old to do this minor work myself any longer.

They changed the oil without asking if OK to do it. Then when I got home I read the invoice they gave me was for a different person and different vehicle. Makes me wonder what really was done.

I will be shopping for better service elsewhere,

Had a great experience yesterday for my oil change! They kept me updated on time and provided quick service once my filter came. The man at the front desk was absolutely amazing as well I extremely appreciated his nice gesture of paying for my oil change. Was totally unexpected and made my whole week. You guys are awesome!
