Always have a great experience here. I moved to altoona about 5 years ago and luckily found them as my new "car home". Every manager that's been there has always been awesome. The prior manager there honored a deal on tires for me bc he knew I would rather go to carx than the competition.
Jeff the manager now is great, super friendly, and honest. He and the employees there always do a great job on informing what potentially will need done and makes suggestions on what to repair first. I'll keep going and recommending these guys until that opinion changes (which I don't see ever happening). Thanks guys! Keep up the awesome work:)

Update: still happy with their service and understanding of our lives. I love sitting with all of them joking around and getting great deals when they can to keep their customers happy no matter what.

Always up front with you about your repair. I've been taking my vehicles here for several years even though I live a couple cities over now.

Managers are lively and if you decide to stick around and wait for your repair, will small talk if they have time and you want. There's free snacks and drinks while waiting as well

Techs are certified and know what they're doing. I feel great and in good hands when I bring my cars here.

Free diagnostics and lookover as well.

Sometimes hard to get ahold of on the phone but just be persistent and patient. I would always recommend making an appointment in advance so you know that you're getting in and having the time to get your repair done.

Nothing but respect for the professionalism Chad and Shawn (Sean?) Showed us when we took our car in for an appointment. We only have one vehicle so we had to stick around. They made sure we drove off with a car that was safe to do so and had a plan of action for the remaining issues later in the week. The 4 hours we were there the first time, we were never forgotten about. They were both open people and you could tell the entire atmosphere of the place was very positive. Even the mechanics seemed to be having a good time! We were treated with respect and I enjoyed the conversations they were willing to have with us in their little down time they had. They were very communicative with us when we dropped the car back off to them and were very willing to work with our schedule. They definitely have our business as long as they are both working there. Thank you to everyone at this location for being awesome!

So far so good. The staff are friendly and offer free diagnosis of vehicles.

Great group of guys, I've always been greeted with smiles and jokes, all my appointments have been on spot and they've gotten me in on time! Definitely will continue doing business here!

They really messed up my trail blazer they didn't put oil in it after doing my valve cover gasket so now my engine is blown and they never did the oil change my Dad paid for so now over $4,000 of work gone and they will not return my phone calls I could give thema zero star rating I would

I am happy to say that I have finally found a new auto service center that exceeded my expectations. I HIGHLY recommend Altoona Car-X! The manager, Chad & his Team went above and beyond to make sure that my car was serviced in a timely manner so I could make it to work on time. They were very efficient with their services and have UNBEATABLE prices $$. My family will no longer be going anywhere else.pretty awesome crew there! ️

We were on the 2nd day of a cross-country road trip and ran into car trouble. So we called and spoke with Chad and said to bring it right over. When we arrived, we could tell they were busy, but he got everything taken care of as quickly as he could and communicated with us the whole time. They did a diagnostic test and thoroughly checking things over, but found nothing wrong. Chad was very kind and didn't even charge us! Very thankful and would go again for any problems if in the area.

The online online appointment process was very easy. I took my car in for my AC not working and they diagnosed it quickly after I dropped it off for my appointment. The estimate was reasonable and they even worked on the price for me. They were very straightforward but in the end it was more than I wanted to invest. I would highly recommend them.

So thankful for Car-X. Every time I visit Chad is always so helpful, goes over everything in detail and is just very customer focused. His crew does really great work! I couldn't recommend them enough for your vehicle needs.

This place is horrible they're paying for all the five-star reviews I swear. I brought two vehicles here for some easy light work One spent 26 days here and the other spent 29 days here. Chad was not. Actually he was so bad that when we told Zach what was going on he lied to us and told us that he was firing Chad. We were given 3 dates it would be done then chewed a new one when we called at the end of the last day's business day He lied to us just to make us feel better and feel safer with doing business there. I don't like doing any business with liars. Just go to the Firestone next door. Amy will take care of you, and she's awesome.

Update:
The DM of Car-X got ahold of me as soon as he saw my story and had my problem resolved the same day. Sad it came to that but I'm so happy he got a hold of us.

Awesome people that helped us find a repair shop nearby that could help us, on our time budget. Chad was Awesome (manager with the "Harley beard ") he couldn't help us but found a shop that could and was more than willing to help us

Exceptional service! GM -Chad is absolutely spectacular going out of his way to not only fix the issue but makes sure your vehicle is safe and sound bumper to bumber.

This store has some great employees, I was having a problem with my tailgate on my truck. I knew they were very busy and the store manager (Chad I believe, sorry if it was the wrong name) grabbed two tools and went out and adjusted the dowels on my tailgate so it closed properly. He took care of my problem without making me come back when they had time! Great people and service. I will be a customer for life!

I needed an oil change last minute and Chad and his team were awesome. Even though they were super busy the got me in and out in around an hour. I could not appreciate it more when I was going out of town the next morning.

I have had nothing but great service at this CarX location! Our family has been coming here for years and Chad is all about great customer service. He is so friendly and makes everyone feel welcome as soon as they enter the shop. I can always count on being a super satisified customer at this shop.

Traveling from Chicago to KC and ran over a dead deer in the middle of the driving lane. Low profile car = potential disaster. Chad and his crew put our car up on the rack, checked things over, removed some hanging, damaged plates and had us back on the road in no time. They couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to use them for auto repair and service.

Called wanting an estimate for having a set of tires installed and note, I already had the tires who I had gotten and when I ask for a price he talked like I was putting him out with his tone of voice! What is it with all these tire centers getting attitude because you have your own car tires? I think that they can’t make There BIG profit on tires costs and installation costs
