Called In Disregarded My Complaint To Assist Other Customers.

First of all great food at an excellent price given the quality of the fare.

My partner and I were looking for a a novel, local, family owned eatery. I had been to Tornado's and my partner the Flying Wiener and we both wanted to have the other try a tested comidity. Due to the residual snowfall and the fact that I am new to the area we were a bit off course.

We saw a sign saying "Chicago Grill". Being tired and having visited a similarly named establishment in Chicago we pulled in and even though the signage was difficult to see, the store front obscured, and an empty and somewhat atypical chair arrangement, we perused the menu board to see if anything popped up that we would want to try.

The menu was divided somewhat across the source of the meat (e.g. Chicken, Beef) and the meal size. The prices were amazingly affordable with most entree items with a can of soda-pop and huge serving of fries coming in at under $11 with tax. You can elect to forgo the fries and use the one dollar compensation toward one of the many alternative sides which range from $3-6 dollars before applying -$1 comp for the fries. The fries were excellent when hot but the entrée took so long to consume the fries were begining to get cooler than I liked. The house fry dip, while not an appealing color and resembled something you might put on a side salad, was actually an unexpectedly delicious flavor. I had feared the taste might resemble the vinegar and salt fry condiments from 5 Guys or select other East coast greasy spoon dives.

I had the double cheeseburger with gyro meat. I had them skip only the ketchup & mustard. The cucumber sauce was excellent with fresh aqrutimonts. My partner was deciding between a Philly Cheese steak and a traditional gyro. She had the gyro which was loaded with the traditional lamb trimmings.

I should state that we were barely able to eat the entire main course offering and we both had more fries left than you would served at the chain restaurants.

Feeling satiated and gratified with our selections we were looking forward to having the Philly cheesesteak, chicken selections, etc.entrées and many additional sides to choose from on subsequent visits.

The awkwardness of the ordering experiance was likely more attributable to our lack of familiarity of the variety of staples and the fusion options.

The staff were very helpful and seemed unphased by the number and type of queries we presented. While Styrofoam containers were provided, they placed napkins between the hot food and foam containers.

The pop and many sides, like the slice of strawberry cheesecake we had, which were stored in a refrigerated glass display container.

While I thought I could taste something other than the meat we had ordered suggesting a need for the oil to be changed, however, upon reflection the slightly unexpected experience our palates sensed was more likely than not related to a recent exposure to CoVid-19 than preparation factors.

I hope you have as impressive an experience as we enjoyed. If you do indulge, I hope you enjoy and we might see you there.

Currently, while not quite as desirable as the Derecho burger and pickle chips at Tornado's, get ready to rock your buds (no not those buds which make everything more munch-able) as you savor the mouth-watering morsels of some novel nutrition to nibble.

My partner and I ate there for the first time for lunch. The staff was good about answering the questions we had. I had the gyro combo (extremely delicious) with fries and a pop. My partner had the gyro double cheeseburger with fries and a pop that he really enjoyed. We split a strawberry cheesecake. They put our hot food in styrofoam containers with aluminum foil to go. There is only one table there, which is a disappointment. But overall a great experience! We will be back to try more items on the menu. Thanks!

Being from Texas, it's really hard to come across a really good fish sandwich or fish plates I thank the lucky stars for Chicago grill!

Our only regret is driving by here so many times without stopping in. Good food and reasonable prices.

Great food with reasonable prices very friendly staff. My favorite is the mixed Philly with extra lemon pepper on the fries.

Just the absolute best chicken and fish in the area. Always hot and fresh and just incredible. Great service and they never skimp on the sides!

Went in for a pre order to go. Stand in line to get my order and they gave my order to previous customer. So i had to wait while my food was cooked again. At least it was fresh but still the whole check out out sustem is chaotic and flawed. Needs organisrd.

I'm addicted to their gyros! So I can only vouch for their awesome gyros and will go out of my way to get them. I live in North Liberty so it's my go-to place for food while in CR. Can take awhile for them to get it made but always worth the wait.

Food is good chicken wings don't have much meat on them very crispy I think they can use less salt made my chest pound everything I ate unless I ordered the rice meals the rice meals are the best fish was salty also but I ate here alot food is addicting just wish they used less salt last time they got my order wrong after me ordering from the for a whole month and I called it in and they actually put so much lemon pepper seasoning I thunk they did it on purpose that was the last draw for me they was salty lemon pepper seasoning all in the platter and all over the food like they was mad I never even ask for the seasoning.

Preordered food never ready and for God sake don’t order gizzard’s. They’re not cooked properly. Clearly the owners don’t eat them!

When I tell you this food was so freaking GOOD! I am a flight attendant, and one of my favorite parts about my job is getting to try food from all over the world. Last night I arrived into Cedar Rapids around 10pm and wasn’t sure what restaurants would even be open. I wasn’t really expecting much good food in Iowa. But this place looked pretty good on doordash so I ordered it to my hotel. I got the gyro meat with rice and a side of cheese balls. OMG IT WAS AMAZING. I want to take another trip to Cedar Rapids just to eat this meal again. I absolutely loved it. 11/10

The food was delicious! Best Philly Steak sandwich & fries! Yummy! Awesome service & very reasonable prices.

My husband is an absolute catfish fiend. We got him a box of the stuff and he utterly devoured it. My kids love the fries and I'm all about the gyros. Staff was kindly and they do their best to work as fast as possible.

Lol atmosphere is a little misleading, place looks junky but the food is amazing we got steak burger and tilapia and it was probably the best of both we have ever had. My husband loved the fries and fish alot.

Absolutely delicious food! The Gyro is fabulous, the fried Catfish is amazing, they put a lemon pepper on the French fries that is awesome good. Very highly recommend this place. The only downfall is there isn't any seating inside, so you order and take and eat but still very much worth it!

This place does not have seating and is mainly a carryout restaurant. I called ahead to place my order and it was ready in 15 minutes. When I went to pick up the order I did not have to wait long. The staff worked very quickly and seemed to know exactly what they were doing. I had the catfish dinner and it was excellent. The price is very reasonable and includes a can of pop. I would consider this a great place for a very quick pick up dinner. I will definitely be going back even though it's all the way across town from where I am. The staff was very friendly and the place was obviously very busy so it seems to be quite a popular place.

I was looking on line for some food to go stumbled on Chicago grill and decided to give it a try. So glad I did. I’ve eaten many gyros in my life, very close to the best I’ve ever had. Fantastic flavor and plenty of lamb. Also grabbed 4 chicken wings and they were just as good, onion rings also very good except I was already stuffed so I could only eat a few of the huge order. I’ll be back soon

The feel of the employees and the quality and quality was like being back home (Chicago), and the food was great!
