China Star reviews
12Me personally I think the food is great. Selection isn't bad and service has always been good to me. But the atmosphere needs some serious attention.
Food way old and crunchy and when I tryed polightly informing them of that she just kept ignoring me them told us to pay. I am very disappointed in their service.
Nice place, friendly people. Food at lunch buffet was very good. Best was the sesame chicken and the butter shrimp. Egg drop soup tasted fresh and satisfying.
They was very rude my one year old grandson was pretty much down graded bc we dropped food on the floor he is one he don't now wht to do yet my daughter told her sorry and she rolled her eyes
For rural Iowa, this is outstanding Chinese fare. I recommend the buffet. Prices are extremely reasonable despite what some may say. It gets pretty good foot traffic, so the food is rarely just sitting in steamer trays for prolonged periods. The staff are kind and wonderful people. I eat here regularly and never have a bad experience.
China Star offered take out thru shut down and recently opened for dine in.
We went early for the lunch buffet. Everything was excellent and being brought out freshly prepared. Service was excellent to remove used plates and check on beverage choice. Take out was always good but pleased to have dine in option again.
I like the food. And it's hot when o pick my order up. The only thing that would make it better. Is if they brought back the dine in service. That would be great.
I'm not sure I got what I ordered. No noodles in the chow mein. Doesn't matter though, what ever I just ate was awesome. The rangoon and fried dumplings are top notch when ordered fresh. Big portions
We like the food when we order carry out. It’s hot and large portions. However, when they close for a week or whatever, it would be very nice if they would put a message on their voicemail saying they are closed and for how long. We don’t live in Osceola so don’t see the sign on the door.
Got the curried beef with fried rice, coulda been more beef but other than that it was delicious
I've been there 4 times at different times of the day trying to give them a chance, but every time the food was old and they didn't want to put new out. They rush you and act like they don't even want you there. Why own a restaurant if you don't want people in your restaurant? So dumb. And it's a real shame cause I LOVE Chinese food. I will say I think if you go in right when they open at 11am you'll get fresh food obviously. So IF I go back that's what time I'll go.
Well I'm the type of person that doesn't like to review a place if I've only been there once so this is the breakdown of both my visits first visit food was very old most everything was either hard or dried out and very over-salted and the Sprite tasted like carbonated water with a drop of lime in it and onto the second visit which was today at noon very little food on the Buffet everything was very old hard most of it not edible left a lot on my first plate just couldn't chew it Sprite was the same carbonated water with a lime flavor to it no sweetness the lady working did not take one plate from my table was there for about 40 minutes two tables down for me was 3 people and when they left there was a stack of about six to seven plates on their table within an hour after leaving I was exploding out both ends for 2 hours at work now 6 and 1/2 hours later severe stomach cramps still having diarrhea I would avoid this place like the plague $10 for diarrhea and poor service and poor food not worth it by a long shot wish I could give zero Stars
