Christian Photo reviews
18I recently called Christian Photo searching for a particular memory card. He asked where I bought my camera, without hesitation he told me I got a bad deal like a car salesman. He also told me half truths, for I called Nikon and found the whole truth. I’ll shop else where.
I had such a great experience working with Trenton on a lens rental. I am a hobbyist photographer and often intimidated by the artistry but he walked me through the new lens, the settings issues I’ve been struggling with and options to upgrade my equipment. He made me feel totally at ease with my insecurities. I will totally rent from him again! I have also really enjoyed a photography class here and walked away with lots of great tips to up my game. I did the intermediate class and am hoping to catch a sports photo session in the future!
Customer service was awful! Chuck was extremely rude when I tried asking questions and discussing a deal.
Fantastic shop for your photo needs!
Great place for starting your photo journey with knowledgeable and super friendly staff. I will definitely be back. Can't wait to get my camera rolling!
Thanks, guys, for everything!
These guys are fantastic! Called them Saturday morning and needed prints for the fair back the same day to submit for a competition, they called me an hour after I uploaded the photos to come pick them up. Couldn't have asked for faster, or higher quality work from anyone else. Fair chose 1 of my 2 pics to display! Thank you so much for all you've done. Cheers!
(I'll add prints after the fair gives them back)
Growing up, our Dad came to this shop a lot. Going there now, just walking through the door, brings back good memories. Everything about this place, is a place you leave feeling better than having gone in. The people are helpful, friendly and genuine and they have any product you are looking for and I'm sure if not, they will find it for you.
Thank you so much for cleaning my sensor on such short notice, btw our daughter was born on Tuesday the 18th
Went to get a mono pod because I left mine at home. Brought my gimbal head in to make sure it fit. At the check out they gave me a box but it was the wrong monopod and my gimbal head didn’t fit. I had to buy another one at my destination spot and I missed out on a photography situation because I had to hand hold my 500 mm lens.
Just moved to Des Moines and first visit was last week. Love this place! I am a film shooter (as well as digital) and was pleasantly surprised to find them fully stocked with film and a good selection of film cameras. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Had prints and a CD made there and both were excellent. Only complaint is their hours make them hard to get to as I work full time, days.
Christian Photo is the best source of camera equipment and photography knowledge in central Iowa. They won’t steer you wrong, and they fully support the products they sell.
Reached out via email and phone call regarding buying a camera. Never heard back so ordered the camera through Amazon. If you didn't buy your product from here, don't bother asking them any questions. Simply shrug you off and push you out the door.
I absolutely love Christian Photo in every aspect of a shop! Great selection of gear (i shoot sony), great staff (i recommend Trenton first when he’s there!) and very great prices! Ill be a lifer at Christian for crossing all my boxes!
If you’re a queer a photographer I suggest you don’t come here.
As someone who is somewhat queer presenting, I have had a couple weird experiences here. I’ve come in and gotten strange looks from the men behind the counter, when I was with my boyfriend one of the employees kept on asking us which one was the “model” and then started insisting my boyfriend was the “model”, and I can kinda tell when I start to talk they hear my voice and don’t want to help me.
I didn’t want to assume this business wouldn’t be queer friendly and I wasn’t going to post anything about it, until I ran into a friend who is also queer and they had very similar experiences. Due to the recent political climate, as a queer person I feel that it is important to inform each other where we are and aren’t welcome for the sake of each other’s safety.
They’ve always been good about developing my photos but I never feel welcome in their store.
Only place in town that would develop pictures from a disposable camera. Down to earth staff. Got it done before they estimated even.
The staff at Christian Photo is very knowledgeable and helpful! They’ve helped me each step of the way: from hobbyist photographer to professional.
Great camera store with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was glad that they had a nice selection of 35mm film.
Ive gotten photos developed at many other places but Christian photo is the best by far. They are very reasonably priced (and i am a broke college student), super fast (i sometimes get prints back they same day i bring in my film), and always nice. For reference i usually get a 35mm role of film developed with single prints
Excellent film and print lab services. Sales staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Digital and film format camera experts.
