We have trusted First Steps Waukee with the care of all four of our children. They have been so supportive of all of the needs of our kids of all ages. They are quick to answer questions that I have and always willing to listen to … More

Due to a change in employment, we needed to move to an apartment closer to my daughter's place of employment. Hated to leave after five years of living here. But it had nothing to do with the apartments. My comments below stand. Thank you Tina!

My previous comments from three years ago stand. If anything, things have gotten a little better since the ownership change. We very much appreciate how responsive maintenance is and how friendly management is.

Good location. Clean, reasonably quiet, reasonably priced. Excellent communication and excellent customer service from the property manager.

Tina, the landlord, is amazing and it shows that she cares about her tenants. I have never had a landlord that is personable and easy to talk to. My first day moving in Tina left a welcome basket on my kitchen counter. Inside were home essentials and a piece of candy for my both of my children! If you are looking for a CLEAN, AFFORDABLE, and SAFE neighborhood…. Then Country Court is the way to go!

This place is the worst place I’ve ever lived. Management, communication, and everything is horrible. Started off with one landlord that messed up our lease multiple times and didn’t know how to do her job then the apartment wasn’t clean and the carpet was disgusting when I moved in. Now that I moved out the deposit and notice issue is a joke. I could go on and on but I won’t. Don’t ever do reviews but just want people who read these to be aware.

These apartments are a joke. First problem; the landlord said that I qualified in my pay of $900 a month, and he said that only utility I would have to pay for is electricity. When I moved in the floor boards were rotting, the carpet was all sliced up, and the door knob was broken, and within the first four months there was black mold growing in the bathroom. All of these things were repeatedly mentioned to be fixed and NEVER got done. I'm amazed the place is standing! Better yet when I tried to find a roommate to take over my lease with just 4 months left to rent, somehow five people and their chosen roommate (9 applicants total) never passed to take the lease, but my one income of $900 a month did? The utilities I shouldn't have had to pay, as I was never even told there is a separate online bill for everything except the electricity and monthly rent (UNTIL I lived here for three months and received a collections notice, never talked to by landlord in that whole time or received even a letter! L), they increased every month constantly. Not impressed in the slightest. Had to do a $1,280 buy out on the place, and had gotten $210 dollars sent back to me somehow from the apartment, and now have a balance of $41.94 occurring in utilities for the month I paid out in full! I was not staying in the apartment, and I had payment returned to me! Do you need more reason to dislike a place? This has ruined my experience renting forever! There were nights I could not feed myself, and I've been pregnant since March with black mold growing in my living space for two total months of my stay! I also got charged for some forced entry BS on my own apartment. A.) I was not home at 11: 30am on a Wednesday. I was at school! B.) The landlord had a key to the place. C.) I was supposedly charged roughly $200 for this "Forced Entry". It wouldn't be so bad for $640+electricty a month, if that was close to the actual cost. >. <
