Great stop on a grueling road trip. Easy access, easy to find off the freeway, easy check-in, easy parking. Nice room, everything we needed. Decent breakfast. Easy check-out. I'd return.

Absolutely loved our room, the staff and the atmosphere. I see people complaining about dated furniture; they looked quaint, quirky, and wonderfully eclectic to me. The bed was the best one we had in our week of travel. The pool clean. Bathroom towels thick. I will take slightly off color patchwork in exchange for the thick towels. We will definitely be back. If you want an officious atmosphere with sterile surroundings lacking in character, and a snooty staff, go elsewhere.

I don't normally write reviews, but I simply had to take the time to recognize our experience. The young lady who worked the front desk, Millie, was simply amazing. Our room could have been a little cleaner when we checked in, we let her know and she immediately made it right. We are staying with a large group for our son's baseball team and and there are a lot of times that the hotels have trouble getting all the families checked in at once. She was so on top of it, it felt like Staying at a family member's instead of a hotel. Everybody on the trip from parents to players loved her and have agreed that we will only stay there When we're in the Des Moines area moving forward. Thank you, Millie, for making it stay so enjoyable!

The room was nice, clean, and spacious. The bed was comfy and the room was quiet. The down side was that the pool was painfully cold (our granddaughter’s lips were literally blue and they were chattering when they got out…. The adults couldn’t even get in!) and the hot tub was EXTREMELY hot, where all we could do was sit on the edge and put our feet in! The pool area was so big and clean, we just couldn’t enjoy it.

We were favorably impressed by this location. Hadn't been there before over multiple trips back to Des Moines to visit relatives. A very quiet location, clean rooms, and a decent morning breakfast. Be sure to visit El Rodeo Mexican restaurant just across the parking lot!

my fiancé was having a bbq with his unit (he’s in the army) & they were allowed to invite family/friends.he was so excited for us to visit johnston/west des moines.we were hyped & chose country inn because when we go out of town/state we always book with country inn.we’ve never had a rude manager, food is always 10/10, cleanliness 10/10, pool 10/10, room 10/10 & service 10/10.

I am super picky about where I stay just because a hotel should always be clean & presentable.for $120/night (military discount) this “suite” wasn’t really nice at all.it felt like a basic motel room. (nothing wrong with motel but I could’ve paid motel price if I was getting motel experience)

I don’t know if it’s because he’s on military discount but when i checked in, (which the lady I checked in with was so rude) they gave me a room that’s for people with disabilities… which ok, whatever but I hope someone didn’t need it bad & they only gave it to us because we’re on a discount.we found out he had to be here earlier than expected for work related stuff & we live further so we drove late at night and got here around 5: 00/6: 00am, both my fiancé & I asked when we got here if we could check in early, even if it was like 11: 00am/12: 00pm when people check out.any room.any floor.because I was so tired, being pregnant, & I had my 9 month old baby with me & my sister is also only 11 yrs old. They were so quick to tell us no, not even check & didn’t take us until 2: 45pm so, we don’t have family here & couldn’t stay with my boyfriend where he works.so, I drove around for hours & my daughter was so hot & tired because just as an adult 8/9 hours in the car is uncomfortable, imagine a baby. I never had a problem with checking in early. Ever. & normally I don’t ask check in early but this time I just had to ask.

Anyways, I will NEVER book here again.or any country inn. Workers here are rude as hell, price is dumb for what you’re getting, and my stay & experience overall is -100/10.

Great little hotel. Rooms were very clean and tidy. The faucet was loose in the bathroom but everything else was nice. The pool is very large with lots of windows for some nice light. The location was a bit confusing as there are two hotels right next to each other. The tall sign looks like it is for the adjacent hotel. There are two restaurants within walking distance. The room came with three sets of towels so if you're traveling with more than that you'll have to ask for more towels.

The location and employee/clerk were fantastic. But room had a musty odor. Carpet had seen better days. The breakfast was delicious.

Easy on and off the expressway. The Mexican restaurant that shares the parking lot was great.close to a lot of stores and restaurants. The breakfast was quite good! I'll stay here again.

One evening I had asked for my room to be cleaned and fresh towels for the next day while I was out. I went about my business the next morning looking forward to fresh towels and the garbage haven been taken out. Sadly no one came in to provide the service I had requested. Other than that it is a nice place to stay - very nice breakfast each morning and access to their computer & printer. My room was great, although the tub bottom is very slippery and I fell trying to get out of the tub (broke 2 ribs).

We had 2 King suite rooms. They were clean and comfortable and at a decent price.

We stayed a few nights. Our rooms did not get cleaned while we were here even though we did not ask for them to not clean them.

Had to go to the desk each morning for towels hence the 4 stars for service instead of 5.

Pool water was very cold!

Would definitely stay again.

It was kind of gross.without getting into too much detail. The toilet seat was not cleaned (let's just say that). The table was sticky with I'm not sure what. Pillows and sheets were stuffed into drawers that wouldn't stay shut. Due to the number of people in our room, we'd requested a pull-out bed with additional linens. We got neither. The room itself was in some sort of remodeling purgatory, and smelled of a musty basement and an old ash tray. It may have been tolerable had they're not been 1,372 kids running up and down the halls day and night. Oh, did I mention the TWO times someone though it funny to pull the fire alarm at 12: 45am and again at 2: 15am? Yeah, good times. When I tried calling to the front desk to convey our concerns, no one answered. When we went down to the front desk to inquire about a different room, no one was there. I only saw one young lady running around doing everything for the entire hotel the entire length of our stay. She's a saint.she deserves better. Do better, Country Inn. Waste. Of. Money.

First off I picked this hotel because they had a gym with dumbells. I find out after checking in that they have a temporary fitness center because they had some work done and they were using the room to store equipment. The dumbbells were sitting in the locked room being used as storage and no one had a key or offered to figure out how to get them moved. It left me slightly annoyed but figured I would let it go. Then after going to bed my husband and I get woken up by the fire alarm at 2: 45 am. We get up and go to the exit. I noticed when we got to the first floor the alarms in their rooms were not going off. I went to the front and mentioned it to the assistant manager who was on duty. She said, "That was the alarm for the whole hotel. I don't know. " I knew that was not correct as the smoke alarm in our room was blarring. No one came out and gave an all clear. At some point people started to file back in. We then got subsequent intermittent alarm bursts until 3: 30 am. Worst experience ever! We were supposed to stay another night but that is not going to happen.
The situation was resolved so that was a plus.

Good stay — I travel a lot for work, and hotels can be hit or miss. Great location (A Mexican restaurant, Wendy’s, and a convenience store / gas station are within walking distance).

The rooms are a decent size. The furniture is a little mixed (some new/some old). No daily housekeeping (a lot of mid-range hotels are have removed daily service since the beginning of the pandemic).

The room was awesome and very clean. Bed was super comfortable. The staff is super helpful. I'll definitely stay again. I was very impressed.

This is a very nice hotel. It would be nicer if we didn't have kids running up and down the halls and up and down the stairs. But my family and I enjoyed staying here. The staff was very courteous and kind. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone anytime rooms are clean the beds are clean floors are clean nice pool!
