Dairy Queen reviews
17I wish I could give it zero stars. They have never once gotten our order right. We’ve given them three chances and will never go back again
Drive Thur is extremely slow. I waited for over 20 minutes with only four cars ahead of me. The person behind me eventually left, so I decided too, as well. For two cars to be served in 20 minutes with another 2 ahead of me to go, I don’t see how that’s acceptable. This is not the first time either. The owner is losing business, and one would think that’d be an important issue to address at some point. I, for one, will be driving a little further to actually save some time.
Went to purchase a quart of SOFT serve twist ice cream. Have many times before. THIS time, got home and could not penetrate contents with a fork. Never had this problem before. Can’t imagine someone wanting to buy ice cream frozen so hard that it cannot be eaten. Be sure to tell them you want FRESHLY drawn ice cream.
They have amazing cakes. Their food isn’t all that bad, and the ice cream is the same as the other Dairy Queen’s around town. During the summer, the drive through is usually packed full, the employees take a horribly long time to get the orders out the window, & the boss is quick to tell the customers to ‘get lost’ if they say anything about it.
If you’re a patient person, this place is a-o.k.
If you’re not, just keep driving.
Very slow service, waited 22 minutes in drive through to find out the kitchen was closed because they "didn't have many food orders" used to go there all the time to support our neighborhood DQ, but will now make the drive to the new one on Ridgeway.trust me its worth the drive
My hubby's dipped cone wasn't dipped very well. And since we were the only ones left in the drive through they weren't rushed. My hot fudge sundae had the perfect hot fudge to ice cream ratio.
Went through the University Avenue drive-thru around 7: 30pm and were told the kitchen was already closed and they don’t serve food after 7, but that information is nowhere to be found where the hours are posted online. Ordered two blizzards. One was correct, but hardly had any toppings mixed in, and the other one was not even the right blizzard. Not even close. Tried to call to ask them to correct it, and no one answered. Not the first time I’ve been disappointed at this location, and probably won’t be giving it another chance.
The location on university is absolutely horrible. Sat at the drive through for 7 minutes waiting to be served. Never happened. I pulled around front and the employees were on their phones in the lobby! Never will go to university location again.
Terrible and unprofessional manager, I tried to pay for my friends ice cream who was in the car behind me and they refused saying it caused problems. Incredibly rude and this will be the last time I frequent this location.
What a sad expensive Dairy queen! I have never spent $4 on a sundae to barely get any ice cream in it.
I ordered my daughter a twist in a cup with sprinkles and they worker brought a cone in a cup with sprinkles and it barely looked like 1/3 cup of ice cream. I didn't order a cone. Then I asked how much were sprinkles? 69 cents! Seriously for a tsp of sprinkles! That ridiculous! Better lower your prices dq. That outrageous!
I ordered a peanut butter bash and I think there was more peanut butter in it than vanilla ice cream. Barely an inch of ice cream over the sundae cup. I will never stop here again.very unsatisfied.
Took us several minutes to purchase two medium chocolate dip cones.we were the 4th car in queue.probably not enough stalk to keep up with the demand.cones were great!
University needs to learn how to make the “Freezes”. Back in the day it was a Mr Misty Freeze. A tasty treat if they don’t leave hail size rocks of ice as half the beverage. Imagine someone putting a bunch of ice cubes in your blizzard. This is the 3rd time they got me. So University DQ, head on down to Hellman’s DQ on LaPorte, swallow your pride and learn how to make them correctly. They don’t have this problem. Your Blizzards are on point but the Freezes are consistently bad. I worked at DQ before so I know how to make the Freezes.
A great local ice cream/fast food shop. There are more than one in Waterloo, but this is one of the larger ones with a larger menu. Seating inside and outside. Awesome ice cream treat selection. Blizzards are at the top of my list!
Not the normal DQ I stop and and I am glad it's not. Went through the drive-thru, was very rudely greeted "are you ready to order or not" followed by a very snooty repeat of my order. At the window, the guy was a complete jerk. If you hate your job that much, then move on. Being rude like this will not earn my repeat business. 2 VERY rude people working drive-thru, but the ice cream was cold!
Rude, Ordered a triple chocolate brownie for my mother. She informed me last minute that she could not eat the brownie. I asked if they could make the triple chocolate brownie without brownie. Owner told me if he’s already made the brownie I get nothing else, so I left. I had ordered 3 items and because I didn’t want a brownie, they had to toss out 3 items and not receive my money because of rudeness! I have worked fast food for many years in my past, I learned to have great customer service and that customers are always right! Will not ever go back to this place again, which is sad because I came here quite often for my mother.
Owner took my order and I had to ask for half of the things I ordered after he said he had given me what he said was my order. Every thing was rily good though.
Why do they lock the freezers where the cakes are with chains? Makes me think of the third world. Cake was good. Environment seems uneasy.
