Discount Tire reviews
15Very quick! I parked my car, they walked to me, had my tires rotated and balanced in just over 10 minutes!
Had a slow leak in one of my tires. Brought it in today on a busy Saturday and within 2 hours they had assessed and resealed my tire to hopefully prevent anymore air loss. I expected to pay 20-30 bucks, but they literally charged me nothing. Coming into Christmas this was a great surprise! I know the tire still may leak potentiality but if I have to replace it I know where I’m going. Hats off to the team you’ve won a new customer over!
I had an awful day and was not looking forward to spending on tires, but needed them ASAP. The ones I wanted weren't in stock, but they found a comparable one they had in stock, matched the price and got them done immediately. Thank you for the excellent service and the kindness that is often lacking in retail interactions.
Had a guy named Kyle really help me. The tires and the amount of time to mount them were good, but it was the service that I appreciated. Will use again! 1
Patched my flat and topped off my tires and then charged me $0. Great service too. Will be back when I need new tires.
Was very busy but got me in and out as fast as they good would advise to setting up appointment on there website for the fastest turn around
Nice place to go to buy tires for your vehicles. Nice helpful people who work there, & have good deals.
Bought brand new tires and they didnt clean all the caked on mudd before balancing the tires like they were supposed to. Now days people just dont care or are dumb as a box of rocks!
Really appreciate the friendly staff here and help they were able to provide in a quick manner today. I blew out a tire and didn’t have a spare so had my car towed here. Called at 8am to see if they had tires in stock, they did and quite a few options. They get three tires on and are having issues with the one, turns out there was a large hole in the rim. Whatever I ran over was pretty aggressive apparently, so, a new rim was also needed. Honda factory rim was not available for 3 days. They did have other options available though and for a price point that wasn’t much more than the 1 Honda rim I needed. 4 new tires and 4 new rims all in an emergency, or kind of an emergency.
Staff was more than friendly and helpful, but also efficient. They were also getting busy and the manager, or what I’m assuming was the manager, Daniel was back there in the shop giving a helping hand to the team to catch up. In a time where a lot of places are short staffed and working conditions aren’t all that lovely this was great to see. True leaders are willing to get in there and help when help is needed. This was shown today. Appreciate everyone and thanks for giving me something positive in my not so great start to the day.
I had 2 loose tires and two bare rims and they wanted $70 to mount and balance them, considering they’ve done it for $30 before. I’ve spent thousands of dollars through this particular location, put full sets on multiple vehicles. Daniel was also very rude. This location used have helpful staff, and great prices. Now it’s a bunch kids, running around throwing torque wrenches at each other. (That literally happened as I was writing this) Tandem will be getting business from now on.
Wish I could rate zero stars. First and last time I'll get tires here. Stranded an hour from Dubuque with one week old new tires. ($1243-) Apparently one of the 4 new tires had the wrong stem installed. No attempt to make it right, not even an apology? Ruined our plans for the beautiful weekend.
After purchasing my trailer tires here, I might be done with Discount Tires.
First off the tires were the same price as Amazon or other tire shops, so no discount really. I called on a Thursday and ordered five tires for my trailer. They told me they would arrive Friday. Waited all day for the call and it never came, so later in the day I called to inquire if they had arrived. "Oh, looks like we forgot to call you. " So it was too late in the day to go in, so I let them know I would be in Saturday at 10am. He didn't mention not being able to book an appointment, no mention of them being super busy Saturday morning, just yeah bring it on in. Then I arrive and they are super busy and we get out to the back of the line over and over because we don't have an appointment. After an hour of waiting my wife asks what's going on and we are told because we don't have an appointment everyone else gets to go first. Well they could have mentioned that! Then they put a junior tech to jack the trailer up. Luckily I was watching cause he positioned the jack towards the middle of the axle! I explained to the young man that putting 8000 lbs on the axle, towards the center could potentially bend it causing thousands of dollars in damage. I asked him to put it as close to the mounting bracket as possible, but not directly under the plate cause that could also bend the mounting plate. I positioned one of the jacks in the right spot and showed him. He did the other side and put it straight on the plate! At this point I am just hoping it will be quick so that the thing doesn't bend. Other side was a repeat. I showed him on rear tire and then he didn't position it right on front tire. I helped jack it up, so at least it was only half the trailer weight at a time. Tires were nice, but that's cause I spent good money on them. Another tech was putting good caps on and I was pretty happy about that. Not that I needed them, but I figured after the long wait and miscommunication the manager was going the extra mile. Then the tech took them off and put standard caps. Just a small thing, but bummer. I told the tech I would just mount the spare tire. He went ahead and mounted it, then gruffly gave me grief that the stop nut for the cover was backwards. Then the installed the plate that holds the spare on upside down, so the tire wabbled and spun freely. That would have led to damage, but luckily I caught it and took off the plate and flipped it the right way to snug down the spare. So our experience was not the usual Discount Tire experience, not sure if it is just this location or what. We have never had issues with DT and have bought lots of tires over the years. This might be my last purchase though. Staff seemed overworked and grumpy. When we left there was only one car in the bay. The sales person could have mentioned to me that Saturday morning was busy and asked if I would come in later in the day and I would have. Bad communication, poor service, price was average, and workmanship was lacking. I am not impressed.
While visiting our daughter in Dubuque, I got a bolt in my tire. The folks at Discount Tire got me in and out in about 30 minutes, at no charge! I will definitely be going back when I need new tires.
I've always appreciated Discount Tire. The Dubuque store is quick, their staff is courteous, they seem to run a reasonable schedule, they seem to treat the customer's cars like their own, and they do very good work for reasonable prices, and sometimes for no charge.
