DMOS Orthopaedic Centers reviews
18I had knee replacement surgery 2 years ago that has been problematic from the start. My internist says the cement is not holding and it needs replaced again. I called to make an appointment today and was placed on hold. A lovely woman comes on the line and says I am on a "bad debt list" for $56.10. If I pay today, she will transfer me back to scheduling. Healthcare by extortion. I didn't know I owed them. I have insurance and 2 supplements so I generally don't have balances due. I paid the bill and declined to be transferred to scheduling. Maybe I should sue the doctor for the botched surgery instead of giving him a do over. Glad it's my knee and not my heart.
Dr. Shulte spent 3 minutes with me, offered no options for 50 dollars never going back to him
When I first came here I couldn’t walk without canes or a walker for years, They took care of my problems and now I’m walking on my own! Amazing! These are the best group of doctors around! They want the best for you and will do their best to achieve it!
AWFUL. I have been waiting 2 months for answers. I have called quite a few times for someone to call me concerning my MRI. I'm still waiting. I've now lost about 40% use of my arm now. The only call I received was to cancel the appointment I had waited 6 weeks for. Whoever is taking the calls and forwarding messages is not doing their job. I'm right handed and since I've lost so much I have trouble writing, eating and forget lifting my arm or trying to lift anything. I know doctors do not like to hear complaints like this.
One of the worst medical experiences I’ve ever had. Doctor met with me for 5 min and literally said “I don’t know man” and that was that
I've seen 3 different DMOS specialists over the years, and I have no complaints. The staff is exceptional starting from the minute you walk in the door. Everyone is kind, and I know that I'm in good hands. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
I made the mistake of being seen at the urgent care clinic in late December or early January for shoulder pain. I was sent to do physical therapy, which I completed in January 2023. My conditioned worsened and it took 2 weeks to be seen again in office from the day I called to my appointment. They did another set of X-rays and this time it showed way more inflammation in my shoulder and the PA was concerned about a rotator cuff tear, therefore, I could not get a cortisone shot because I am losing muscle and capability in my arm and if I need surgery, it would be pretty urgent, the steroid could make it not as effective. I have a hand tremor and about 40% use of my dominant hand. On 4/27, DMOS sent a request over to my insurance for a prior authorization, but they forgot to put a STAT order on it “whoops”. Therefore, there has been no sense of urgency to send the appropriate documentation over to my insurance company, which prolongs the timeline for a “non urgent” MRI.
Additionally, I called multiple times to speak to the MRI staff that I needed items sent to insurance, and they didn’t call me back after multiple calls. I talked to Marcy the office manager, and she said they have sent everything over to my insurance company (they think) and are awaiting the prior authorization. I am stuck being treated at DMOS until my MRI is completed because of prior care, but unless they intend on caring for their patients with my decency and respect and stop causing physical and emotional distress, it is not a place I can recommend nor will be treated here again. They want to schedule me TWO WEEKS out from the prior authorization, which is asinine given the clinical errors that they have caused on their end and their extensive delays.
Well maintained facility and not under staffed. Easy check-in process with great drop off lanes. Everyone is very friendly thru the visit.
Unprofessional experience with this place. I contacted them to set up an appointment for a second opinion on an issue I have with my elbow requiring surgery. I was told over the phone that Dr Rodgers reviewed my records that I had sent over from another ortho place and declined to see me. No explanation given at all which gives me nothing to go on. I don't have a problem if the Dr doesn't want to handle my case but at least tell me why.
Scheduling has been horrible. Wait time is worse. People are good, but they could care less about your time. I'd give them the best, but couldn't say it's a place I would go back to.
We have been going here for sometime over the years. The staff is polite and professional. They take time to make sure
you understand your medical issue and what they will would do to solve it. McKenna with Dr. Bremmner was so nice and treated me like a patient an not a number.
DMOS is a, facilty that my family has used 4 times in the past and will continue to use when the need arises. I would recommend this facility to anyone on need of Orthopedic and sports medicine.
Wish I could give no stars. Went here for an injury and my doctor just shrugged me off. I kept pointing at where my foot and ankle were causing me pain and how I kept feeling a popping and he just looked at me like “yeah ok” and acted like he didn’t want to touch me (which he didn’t) how are you an orthopedic specialist/doctor but think you’re above touching feet? Gave me a piece of paper with some PT exercises I could do alone and sent me on my way. It’s been well over 6 months and no change. I wasn’t gonna right a review initially but you don’t forget when people are unkind especially an entire team of doctors/nurses.
Great experience! Staff and providers are all very professional, knowledgeable and welcoming @!
Absolutely horrible service. Closed on normal business hours/days. Drove 50 minutes to get to this clinic with no warning that they decided to take a random day off. 10/10 would recommended NOT GOING HERE OR THE ANKENY LOCATION. JUST AS USELESS.
Looking forward to getting surgical procedure, only because I feel comfortable & confident of Dr. Ries's abilities. "Down to earth" and professional.
The staff is good when you are at the clinic. Wait times are terrible. There is a lack of follow up between the clinic and outside sources like physical therapy. I was told twice that the doctor was going to reach out to my physical therapist about an unexpected foot pain from my knee injury and he never followed through. Very disappointing. They also upcharge medical equipment significantly and don't offer more affordable options.
I had ankle surgery the staff was welcoming and very nice nothing but good things about dmos
