The best food in town Great people, they cater many area events and it is always delicious. Apple turnovers are so flaky!

Many varieties of absolutely delicious homemade pie; especially the not-so-easy-to-find sour cream and raisin! Hot Roast Beef sandwich and crispy sweet potato fries also notable. Staff was friendly and attentive. Atlantic should be proud!

We had breakfast at this location and it was delicious. A great little diner with great service!

It was busy but as always was delicious! I had the special (fried chicken dinner) and my hubby had our usual chicken fried steak and as usual was great. When we are in Atlantic @ lunch time, we always stop here.

We got off the interstate for some wonderful local food and we're not disappointed! This is a very charming restaurant with great service and excellent food.

My first experience at the downtowner did not disappoint. Food was amazing, I had the best patty melt I've had in quite a while. Little brother and sister had some issue with the chocolate milk bit issue was fixed. Planning on coming again soon.

Great ambiance. The servers seemed genuinely happy to be there. I left feeling like I belonged even though I was passing through. The food was delicious and inexpensive and the coffee was perfect! If you're hungry and in the area, don't pass up the Downtowner!

Traveled to Atlantic Iowa for a game of golf and was referred to this restaurant by the golf course so glad that they did. It was a lovely day we got to sit outside on the patio and had excellent service the food was superb. When I go back to Atlantic to play golf again next year I will certainly go back to this restaurant for lunch

Lovely restaurant! Nice, warm comfort food. Love the soups and burger combo for lunch. Look forward to the next visit. Highly recommended.
